Excitement, and slight nerves, reverberated inside Sharon as she stood expectantly in front of the pharmacy. She had applied a while ago and now was the promised first day of her on the job. Finally, she'd be doing something closer to what she always wanted to do, and optimistically deemed this a good first step. She opened the door, met with the clean scent inside as she stepped in, looking for any of her other fellow workers, or someone, who could begin directing her around.
Tumblr media
Surely there must be someone around--ah! She smiled at the blond-haired man she saw. Yes, he seemed to be the right person to go to. "Hello!" she called out to him. "I just started today."

You'd think after bouncing from town to town, country to country, Sharon would be better accustomed to getting the basic map of a place down more quickly. Or maybe it was the opposite. Sharon didn't think herself a hopeless person with directions, but she supposed her GPS was her constant best friend when she went out...
And well, her phone was dead now, so going about the city would have to be done in a more old-fashioned way. Luckily, the boy she had approached didn't reject her - although she almost suspected it would've happened with the hard look in his eyes. It made her want to scowl right back. I understand we've all got things to do, but is helping someone really such a bother to others nowadays?
He had repeated the place back slowly - more to himself, it seemed like. Sharon nodded. "That's right. It's around where I live," she explained, wondering if he was even listening. She smiled in relief and gratitude when he told her to follow him.
What a coincidence they were going to the same place! Sharon beamed. Maybe it was fate she should run into this boy now, right when she got lost. Ah--! Her musings were cut short when she realized the boy was already walking off. Quickly, she began to pick up her pace.
Tumblr media
Goodness, she was twenty-three! It wasn't fair that she was still so...vertically challenged that she had to sprint every few steps just to remain more or less side-by-side her companion. Is it in the milk or something? she wondered, a flush from her rush already steadily warming her face. Or is it because he's a boy?
Sharon took another look at him. Now that she was closer, yes - there was something distinctly familiar about that particular stern expression and blue eyes. Hmm.
"Ah, do you live along Plume Street, too?" she asked conversationally. She never really did like the silence, and even if it was with a stranger, she was fond of striking up some light talking. Besides, if they lived close, then maybe that was the reason she thought him familiar.
How long was he walking down this street? It looked like the location changed almost completely- instead of new tiles there was cobble, houses seemed to travel further and further into the past. Elliot had no doubt he had entered the Old Town of the city.
Well, at least I think that’s progression, the Nightray thought as he stopped to rummage in his pocket. His long fingers grazed against keys, passed through some little pieces of paper and finally grabbed the phone, pulling it out of the stuffy space. Elliot really did keep a lot in his pockets- mostly because he didn’t like bags all that much.
Swiping the screen, Elliot unlocked the iPhone he had just recently gotten as a present (he accidentally broke his old one). Furrowing his eyebrows, the boy read the address he was supposed to get to again. And again. Cloom Street? He certainly didn’t pass one like that yet.
The Nightray turned his head at the sound of some girl calling out to him. Apparently she was asking for directions- at first, Elliot wanted to reply harshly about how he had no idea how is one even supposed to orientate in this place. But the place she was asking was…
“Plume… Street?”
He did vaguely remember walking past it. And it was obviously the street he actually needed.
Tumblr media
Those morons didn’t hear it right and sent me out with the wrong address, didn’t they.
“You can follow me, I’m heading there.” Elliot replied, sounding annoyed- of course, it wasn’t intended towards the short girl (who sounded very polite actually). The Nightray put his phone back, leaving his hand in the pocket and started walking back from where he came from. He certainly didn’t want to go back here again tomorrow, so he had to stop wasting time.

Aah, Sharon felt quite accomplished. She was able to explore quite a bit of the city during her one week since moving in. She was confident staying here until the Rainsworths decided to move again was going to be worthwhile. Well, it was a long day. What she wanted now was to go home and visit her mother in her room for a bit. Now let's see, if she just turned the corner here--
Sharon paused in the middle of the sidewalk, blinking. Wait, these buildings didn't...look familiar at all... No, she must be mistaken, after all, if she just retraced her steps, she'd-- Come to a street whose names weren't known to her.
Tumblr media
Fumbling in her purse, she decided to just get directions off her GPS - only to find that her phone had died. "...Ahaha...ha...," she laughed to herself nervously. Was this...a joke? Okay, okay, calm down Sharon Rainsworth, you are a respectable adult. Be sensible. Ask for directions.
Her eyes landed on the first person she saw, a teenaged boy a few feet away from her. Pocketing her dead phone, she came up to him, leaning to gain his attention. At this closer look, she could swear she'd seen him before. Had they met? Well, remembering a face wasn't what she was there for...
"Excuse me, but do you know where Plume Street is?" she piped hopefully.
Tumblr media
Stopping an looking around again, Elliot bit his lip. He could swear he had passed that store three times already. And that old looking phone booth, it was there as well. He… couldn’t be lost, now could he?
“This is stupid.” the boy mumbled. It wasn’t like he didn’t know how to find his way around, but this place was one of those parts of the city he hadn’t explored yet since moving in here. And his classmates had asked the Nightray to get some stuff meant for the annual spring celebration, or decorating the school’s auditorium, to be exact.
Of course, Elliot was given directions, but they weren’t exactly clear. The only thing he knew was the store’s name and that there was a package already waiting for him.
Elliot could only hope the shop didn’t close till 6 o’clock. Because this could take quite a while.

After reading Lady Sylvie and Her Mongrels for about the hundredth time (which was probably not an exaggeration at all, given how much Sharon could quote and how well-loved the spine was), Sharon happened upon the author's blog to find out after years of silence, another book was going to be made. Needless to say, the Rainsworth practically rolled off her bed in glee (okay, not practically, she did), and promptly committed the release date to memory.
Now that the long-awaited day had come, Sharon was out roaming the streets of the city in a lively tizzy, looking out for the first sighting of a bookstore. She had looked up the various bookstores online and found one to be closest to her home named 'Reveille Books', and when it finally came into her view, she all but sprinted over (in heels, no less, but these are the things you learn as a Rainsworth).
Right at the door, she paused to compose her excitement. Quickly, she straightened up and smoothed over her hair and skirt before taking a dignified breath.
Tumblr media
She opened the door to peer inside, looking around for any activity. The store was pleasantly quiet, but not entirely silent; not to mention it was the most cramped bookstore she had ever been in. Sharon stepped inside with a short hum, looking hopelessly around for where new releases could be amongst the crowded mass of shelves.
"Hmm. Excuse me, is anyone around?"

For a moment, Sharon was stuck too much at the arrangement of flowers to notice much else. She had been to many flower shops before, all around the world, some very well-known with expensive blossoms. Still, this shop in a town she never heard of was as mesmerizing as any of those. Sharon blinked in awe before finally registering someone had spoken to her.
Quickly, she offered a smile in apology to the woman. "Oh yes, thank you, I will!" she reassured, placing her hands politely over one another as she stepped further inside.
Tumblr media
Sharon considered what it is she might want, her eyes falling over every flower and wondering what would be right. Not that she even knew what she'd need the flowers for considering she stepped inside in the first place on impulse, but... Oh! She did suppose a good reason would be that...
"I'm not entirely sure. But I'd like to buy something for my mother. She's always sick, so I think maybe some flowers would cheer her up," Sharon explained, already happy at the idea. And she did like to get her mother souvenirs from every new town... Although that still left her wondering what would be good flowers.
She looked over at the woman in question. "What would be good for a sick mother?" she mused out loud.
Tumblr media
❀ — { Soft hums purred out from between the raven haired woman’s lips, singing peacefully to the light melody of her little radio which played gentle orchestra music. All the while as she hummed her hands danced through the flowers with ease, rearranging them and placing them in a proper more elegant order.
❀ — { After finally managing to redecorate a few vases that were set on display, Vanessa took a step back and placed her hands on her hip. Admiring the work she’d created. Flowers were always so beautiful and calming to the woman, one of her most favorite and ever so enjoyable hobby— Other than spending time with Elliot.
❀ — { As the sound of the bell that hung over the door softly welcomed a visitor, Vanny turned her head towards the door smiling at the brunette as she asked to look around. “Of course, do be careful though!” The part of being careful was for the flowers of course, but she wouldn’t say that … yet. Still she was rather curious as to what she was looking for, “Might I ask what it is you’re interested in looking for?” Vanessa asked as she began to remove her gloves and shoving them into the pockets of her white apron.

Sharon had glanced up at the café's entrance long enough to get a good look at the two boys who had come in. She never really much paid attention to the looks of men, but these two seemed well within the high school age.
If it wasn't known quite yet, it could be said that despite being five years within the legal age, Sharon still had...interests toward younger men, particularly cute-looking ones. Shotas, or whatever one of her friends in Japan used to tease her with two years back.
Sharon raised an interested brow, her attention held a second more before glancing back down to resume her book. It still didn't stop her from glancing up every so often at the two of them, especially the shorter one with a softer-looking expression.
Tumblr media
It also made her notice that he had come right up to her, asking what she was reading. Oh. Hmm, well erotic novel wouldn't do, now would it? Sharon just had to be grateful that the title was in French...although the cover was of an obviously male hand caressing the stocking-covered foot of a woman, as if he were lifting it up to kiss it.
Sharon subtly tried to slam the cover face-down and offered the teenager a sweet smile. "Oh, nothing too much of import," she replied, making her voice just a bit higher. "A bit of light reading, some romance. Probably things a boy wouldn't be interested in." She ended that with a small giggle.

დ| It’s not like it was Oz’s idea to come here this early in the afternoon.
Rather, he much would have liked to head to a bookstore, or a friend’s place, to do his homework. But no. He had to be dragged here by his stupid friends to a stupid tea shop where Elliot was going to get his stupid tea.
Not that Oz didn’t hate tea. He’d just never find one he’d really liked.
So, while Elliot was oogling the tea before buying, Oz moved to glance around the little shop. The only other customer there was a girl reading something. Huh. She was a cutie!
Ignoring Elliot now, Oz slipped away from him to go sit across from this girl, flashing her his warmest smile.
