Very important question at 3 am: What is a ghost tabby?

Was messing around with that one generator people did for challenges and there's a neat section where you can generate kittens using the genetics of parents and one of those pairings spat out a ghost tabby and Google has not helped me besides telling me the obvious part of it being a tabby that just looks like a black cat

Google is giving you the opposite of the correct answer LOL, ghost tabbies are NON-tabbies that have faint stripes.

there's no known genes behind it & is def not monogenetic, it's who-knows-how-much developmental, etc etc. solid kittens ghost & sometimes they just don't grow out of it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Depending on the generator they may be also using it to refer to a non-agouti ginger cat but that's a different thing

The cheeto cat is a cscs point that's been dyed neon orange

If you look at the face, it's got a mask & ears like points have and the point shading is a creamy colour so would be cscs

Idk what kind of weird lighting must've been in the pics but I can confirm she's not point at all & is totally O/O. No way to see her underlying black layer. cs/cs flames are WAY lighter, no matter how cold. she's carrying cs (we know who her dad is) but it is NOT expressing.

hi there, playing genemod whilst listening to your two genemod clangen videos. very cool, very fun!

i just generated a clan with both a cat who looks very similar to weedclan's leader and also a chocolate cat. and i figured i could post them here, side by side with hopes that they will make it easier for you to find chocolate cats.

the cat on the right is the chocolate cat (and is actually also carrying cinnamon so... fun!!). i also play with shaders on but this is how the chocolate cat spawned for me. good luck in your hunt for chocolates!

Any Idea what the HECK this cat is? Saw it in a video, and I'm thinking it's a chimera, or really weird rufousing. Literally only it's face is dark, the rest looks like a Cheeto, and I'm SOOOOO confused.

I find it funny that I complained so much about Graystripe/Millie and the problem of Blossomfall that I forgot my solution to Robinwing/Fuzzypelt being generally incapable of producing most of their children was "Fuck it, mass adoption." Like, two of their kids are definitely tabbys, I have to assume Frostfur is albino because there isn't a speck of white on either of them and certainly no dom white, Cherrypaw's description is an instant no, Longtail the surprise affair baby is also an impossible tabby, and Chestnutkit is possible if he's a boy. At least Ravenpaw makes sense for his parents.

BTW, silver ticked Brindleface and Ferncloud? It was my best guess for pale gray with darker flecks, but I'd love to get your input.

oh you'll see how i solvd robinwing/fuzzypelt, I actually found them decently easy once i saw robin was a tortie LOL. i only covered their kids who make it tho.

I'm a DM and whenever my players meet a tabaxi, they know they're about to get a mouthful...

me describing an orc or a human: yeah he's tall. bald. skin on the darker side. has a warm smile.

me describing a tabaxi: he's a blue-silver lynx point - mink, mackerel - with a tux pattern but not on the tail tip and also he's a shorthair

I absolutely LOVE the lineart so far!

I've only made my boi Peachsun(with yet another redesign because I can't help changing it so often), but I have ideas for future cats.

These will probably subsequently help me practice drawing different coat patterns without having to worry about drawing the lineart every time.

This might be a dumb question but are Persian cats a breed or a genetic type? I feel like when I see cats with those kinds of faces I think "Persian!" but I also used to do that with all seal point cats until I realized Siamese was a breed

breed :)

people use "persian face" to refer to brachycephalic cats since it's an easier to pronounce and better-known term, but it's just a description, like how saying "blue as the sky" doesn't mean the blue thing is actually part of the sky
