I really want to make yorkshire pudding
I’ve only ever seen images and heard tales told of this mystical bread donning the name of both conurbation and confection

"Do Not Adjust Your Set" Gone Weird 2
A long-silent Number Station unexpectedly springs back to life, not with secret spy messages, but with transmissions from non-human entities. You, a curious shortwave radio enthusiast, stumble upon these bizarre broadcasts. With most dismissing them as mere interference or hoaxes, you delve into deciphering the strange codes and languages. Amidst skepticism, you're determined to uncover the truth behind these cryptic messages and their otherworldly origins.
From their realm of magic and mystery, the practitioners, masters of their arcane craft, have long held a belief in the virtue of cryptic communication. This belief was reinforced decades ago when a lone Magus first intercepted broadcasts from Earth's Number Stations. Perceiving these coded messages as Earth's preferred method of discreet discourse, akin to their own enigmatic ways, they spent years crafting a spell capable of hijacking a station to send their own transmission. Now, as they finally broadcast their message, they are unaware of how much Earth's communication norms have changed. Their transmission is a complex blend of magical incantations and cryptic codes, intended to reach fellow practitioners of hidden arts on Earth. In their eagerness to connect, they even share the foundational elements of their spell, hoping to establish a two-way communication.
Silly twist option: this unwittingly causes chaos among the few who receive and experiment with the spell. Untrained in the ways of this otherworldly magic, these individuals inadvertently trigger unpredictable magical phenomena – from accidental conjurations to unintended teleportations. The magic user, realizing the tumult their message has caused, must now find a way to guide these novice Earthlings in harnessing this new power, all while continuing their quest for meaningful connection in a world vastly different from what they had perceived.
Writing Prompt - "Do Not Adjust Your Set" Gone Weird
As an enthusiast of vintage technology, you find yourself among a rare few capable of communicating with an alien civilization, when your Nokia N-Gage, along with a handful of others, becomes a conduit for their unexpected messages.
Aliens, in their quest to reach out to Earth, end up choosing a communication medium that's lost to time. Their decision, a result of deciphering old TV commercial transmissions, leads them to believe it's Earth's standard communicative tool. Their signals reach only a handful of these devices, now treasured by a small community of vintage tech enthusiasts and nostalgia seekers.

Too many directions to take this one; I must set it free:
Silly Shonen Anime Style: MC Dies in/while playing a video game. OR
Those who fall to -disease- are honored for their unparalleled struggle. Did they earn Valhalla’s reverence for their fight against illness, or for the systems that let them down? OR
Ragnarok is fast approaching and Valhalla is short-handed. In need of a mighty warrior, they are greeted by a kind old soul. Mystery ensues trying to figure out why this person who only wants to bake sweets and hear their stories, is the destined one. OR
A Capybara finds itself in Valhalla after their battle of harmony with nature. But perhaps, in this new age, this capybara was exactly the hero Valhalla needed.
Writing Prompt
In an age of peace and prosperity, Valhalla redefines what it means to "die in combat".

Depression Den Defeated
For months I have struggled to tackle the issue at hand. Each day I would try to take small steps, but still, it grew. It has been clear for a long time now that this is not something I can handle on my own.
I finally built up the courage to ask for help.
This alone is a big step for me.
In a single day, we tackled the overwhelming majority of the mess. All that remains are bits and bobs we broke down into small tasks. Little things that aren't urgent. By taking care of one little thing each day, I can build some habits, all things willing. Or something. Best laid plans and all that jazz.
For the time being, I am excited, I am hopeful, and at least a little proud of myself for reaching out to ask for help, even if it was a bit late.
And now for something completely different

For some people, writing is like a muscle
Growing up, I used to spend hours a day writing.
Writing was how I explored the world around me. Writing was how I tried to deepen my understanding of myself. To this day, I have fond memories of writing and think to myself, "I should do that again, it could be fun". I used to write all the time, I used to have so much fun doing it, so doing it again now would be fun right? Once in a while, often at way too late o'clock at night, I start thinking like this. But, something always comes up, or time is never set aside. I just reassure myself that it will be easy enough to do so when the stars align and I run out of excuses, it will be fun to get to it someday.
Well over a decade has passed and I still haven't made any real progress toward writing. Sure, attempts were made from time to time. I would convince myself to pick up something like gratitude journaling only to find myself a week later with a pile of fun pens and stickers on top of an empty journal (the blank piece of paper won).
For some people, writing is like a muscle. Extended periods of inactivity and neglect will lead to atrophy. Suddenly hopping back into previous routines can be painful and leave you wrestling with expectations and reality.
The longer I wait, the harder it is to get this through my thick skull.
