A QUICK DECISION He’s moving through one train cart after another. 10 seconds between stops. Feeling the shame and guilt every time he says his pitch, “Hi Everyone. I’m sorry to bother you. Can you please spare some food or some change? I’m just trying to get through the day. Anything helps. Even a smile. Thank you and have a blessed day.” A couple of smiles, but mostly ignored. He overhears a whisper, “This is NY. You’ll see this at least once a day. He’s probably a drug addict.” A tourist drops some change in his hat. “This is a 242nd St. Bound 1 train. The Next stop is Dyckman St.” As he runs to the next cart, a man about his size is limping off, wearing shoes with two pieces of duct tape barely holding them together. However, in the last analysis whatever you have come to know resolves itself into your own mental concept, colored and enhanced by your own emotional and physical nature. You are you. What you are and what you are to become is the result of an inner motivation with you alone have established. Unknowingly you have perhaps been directing yourself in a direction other than that in which you desired to go. As you come to understand the way your mind is creative, new vistas of living will open up for you. “FREE INSURANCE” Today it is possible to buy insurance to cover almost every situation so as to be remunerated for any possible loss. In fact, our desire to protect ourselves from loss has resulted in insurance being one of the really big businesses today. In many instances the premiums we pay for such protection are a drain on our pocketbooks but we feel that it is money well spent. When losses do occur and an insurance policy does pay off, there is a great feeling of satisfaction that we have protected ourselves in this manner. However, insurance policies are of no value unless disaster hits us. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we were able to provide ourselves with m'surance which would protect us against the possibility of disaster occurring? To a large extent such insurance is available to us. And the premium is not prohibitive in price. In fact, no money is involved at all. It is free as far as money is concerned, but not free in another way. We have to take the time and make the effort to pay for it by keeping a careful guard over our thoughts and emotions. We can provide ourselves with free insurance which has a fine guarantee of good health. But we need to wake up to the fact that good health is our natural state, and also stop continually inviting sickness with undue worries, concerns and anxieties. The same thing applies also to our relationships and affairs. We can insure their continued good state by not emotionally and mentally nurturing their opposites. It is never too late to sell yourself some good free insurance.
