I miss counting the freckles on your shoulders as if they were the stars in the night sky,

damn it.

I used to tailor my old tumblr blog with posts specifically for you to see.
Some things never changed.

do you miss me? when you pour yourself a cup of coffee, does it still remind you of my eyes?

I dreamt of you last night.
It was nighttime and I caught a glimpse of you at some public place. We locked eyes and before we knew it we were nose to nose.
Next thing I remember we were in a bedroom, my lips on yours again and my fingers in your hair. Your arms latching around me, your hungry hands exploring my body. You inside me and us whispering delicious things to one another through hot breaths. Your face hovering over mine as I looked into those eyes I’ve missed. You caressing the side of my face…
As I opened my eyes and felt my heart ache again.

I don’t drink often but, on nights like these when I’ve had a few, I wish I could call you.

I know I’ll gain nothing from writing about you, other than finally accepting how much I’ve missed you all these years.

When I feel as if I’m missing you too much, I just remember one of the last things you said to me..
“Well, I was with another girl last night!”
And then it stops.

Sometimes when I’m driving to work in the morning I listen to the songs we would listen to together. In the early morning darkness it feels as if you’re there with me again, singing along like nothing has changed. But it’s all changed. Now I’m driving alone thinking of you, wondering if you ever think of me too.

The other day I was in the library and I caught a whiff of a familiar scent. Marlboro reds, spearmint, and bar food. It took only a moment before the memory flooded my vision.
I remember pulling my car up behind the restaurant on a dark, drizzly night. You came bursting out the back door right up to the window. As that scent wafted around me, you leaned into the car with that crooked smile, and I knew then that I was a goner.

The worst part is that I know we’d be great together now.

Every so often you stumble back into my mind and I can’t help but smile while my heart aches.

I’d give up a lot for just one more kiss, one more hug, one more long look from you… one more.
