Here’s something I’ve learned about people. We think we know someone, but the truth is that we only know the version of them they have chosen to show us. We know our friend in a certain light, but we don’t know them the way their lover does. Just the way their lover will never know them the same way that you do as their friend. Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour (2018)

Not in death, but just in sleep, the fateful prophecy you'll keep. And from this slumber you shall wake, when true love's kiss, the spell shall break.
SLEEPING BEAUTY 1959, dir. Clyde Geronimi, Eric Larson, Wolfgang Reitherman, Les Clark

Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater in TITANIC (1997)
There was this myth, I think, that was created by the media that the films entire success was based on 14-year-old girls going back to see it over and over again because they were in love with Leo. Certainly, that was a factor. But I also think they missed a critical point, which is teenage girls love the movie because it was about them. And they related to Rose. — James Cameron (Director)
So when I decided to write the book on it and I went to see the movie again, there were two teenage girls sitting behind me and they were weeping. And I said, "How often have you seen this film?" And they said, "Oh maybe six or seven times." And I said, "Why do you love this film so much that you keep seeing it?" They said the payoff in the movie for them was seeing those photographs at the end. It was seeing this old woman who had been the young woman and that she had lived a rich and really full life. And that she had survived all these troubles and had made something of herself. And that was so inspiring.
— David Lubin (Author of BFI Modern Classics: "Titanic")

“Look, there she goes, that girl is so peculiar, I wonder if she’s feeling well. With a dreamy, far-off look, and her nose stuck in a book. What a puzzle to the rest of us is Belle.”

♔ After a lifelong struggle to give England an heir, Henry’s glorious successor was not a son, but a daughter. Elizabeth I, daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, came to the throne in 1558, and ruled England for 45 years. She was the last of the great Tudor dynasty, a bright star who dazzled both the nation, and the world. And the achievement of Gloriana, the great Queen of England, still lives on to this day.
“I do assure you, there is no Prince that loves his subjects better. There is no jewel, be it of so rich a price, which I place before this jewel; I mean your love. And though you may have many mightier and wiser Princes sitting in this seat, yet you never had, nor shall have, any that will love you better.”

It’s been 84 years, and I can still smell the fresh paint. The china had never been used. The sheets had never been slept in. Titanic was called “the Ship of Dreams”, and it was. It really was.
