Severočeská nová vlna, galéria mladých, Nitra,  22. 2. – 19. 5. 2019

Nejde o to, přinést něco nového, ale přistupovat ke všemu vždy s novým zaujetím oproštěn od konvencí a povinností naplnit svazující očekávání.

Severočeská nová vlna

Co očekáváme v současné době od fotografie? Čeho si na fotografiích ceníme? Lze ještě přijít ve fotografii s něčím novým? Zajímá nás dívat se na fotografie, když všichni fotíme?

Výstava Severočeská nová vlna, která vznikla přímo pro prostory Galérie mladých svým pojetím relativizuje zažitou striktní představu o tom, co je „dobrá“ fotografie a čím je „fotografie“ v současné společnosti. Výstava je svébytným fotografickým vyjádřením bez ambic oslnit přehlídkou sofistikovaných forem nebo výběrem jedinečných nápadů. Naopak se snaží vyzdvihnout v tvorbě jednotlivých mladých autorů to, co je spojuje, prezentuje nikoli fotografie ale spíše pohled. Severočeská nová vlna je pohledem, který se zcela přirozeně utváří a proměňuje pod vlivem místa, okolností a individualit, které v něm působí.

Searching for Kudor, Jelení gallery, 3-28 April 2019

Kudor is the confirmation of the existence of metaphysics in photographic processes that do not have a logical explanation Kudor is a mistake that will turn into a trend Kudor is important primarily due to its importance Kudor is the space outside of the painting Kudor is the new Northern Bohemian wave Kudor is not subject to the laws of physics if it is firmly grasped ideally Kudor is the momentary analogical criteria without general validity Kudor is the absence of something that is a priori clear and present Kudor is the unrealized and indescribable idea and nothing more Kudor begins and ends with the idea of Kudor

Postmodernism as a way of thinking and artistic production was supposed to bring diversity and freedom. The new patterns completely removed all rules, which characterized the preceding periods. However, rather than a variety of ideals, contemporary art represents a field of landless expressions completely lacking a starting point, and in addition to the fact that anything is allowed, everything is everything and can be interpreted in any way in the regime of social substance.

In this situation, the Northern Bohemian Wave* emerges on the scene with an exhibition that is not in opposition of the existing patterns but instead evokes distance from them.

The exhibition Searching for Kudor is a concept that respects its own inner order, which, based on the rules presented, formulates the principle of searching for paths as a form of artistic production. Whereas observance of the defined rules that were defined for the exhibition, is, in the current artistic discursus, paradoxically a sign of nonconformity and free choice.

I like taking pictures of people. In normal situations, naturally, so they don't know about photographing. I decided otherwise this time. I prepared a small ritual - I attached three cameras to a tripod, a needle and a knife to my hand. The participants of the ritual entered the imaginary circle and I told them just before taking a photo that they had to look into the lens and I would cut them a little at one point. Or sting. Or neither. They just has to trust me a little and worry a little. For me personally, the process, psychological work with people was important, and the aim was to capture the reflection of fear in the eyes or uncomfortable feeling or a strange mood. Maybe to cause a little punctum.

I almost forgot how important the pain is. We often forget it. I try to think about it as something beneficial. I have to suffer a little bit to transform, to be the better side of me. I do not think it is appropriate to act just to feel comfortable and always safe. Seemingly banal idea, but very important to me. The beginning was dark.
