The first draft of a story is a baby taking its first steps. It's not yet stable enough to stand on its own. But you're so proud, watching this little, adorable creature that you created and nutured fumble around on its little chubby legs.
Because you know that shaky step is the first one of thousands.

GUYS THE ANSWER WAS IN FRONT OF US THE ENTIRE TIME(spoilers for Star Wars Rebels)
Okay, so I was watching twilight of the apprentice part two. We all know this scene, right? (Please ignore quality I had to take the picture from my TV and YouTube quality is too low

So this is during that whole montage, right? This part was heavily debated when the show first came out because we didn't know if she survived or not.
Now slow the whole scene down. And you'll see this....

If you watch the darkness closely, you can see her take at least three or four steps AFTER that first one. Now, you can't watch it on YouTube and idk if you can see it on Disney Plus. I have the original season two set to watch it on. Which means this DVD came out before season 4 confirmed she survived.
Anyhow here's the full scene I recorded. Sorry for the quality, but you CAN make it out
Maybe someone else has caught it, but I NEVER did so I'd thought I'd share.

Star Wars Rebels Changed my Life
But before I tell you why, let me begin with my introduction (I rambled and did not edit, so please excuse any mistakes).
I was seventeen when Rebels aired (I know, I'm showing my age). At the time I was still riding off the Disappointment of Clone Wars being cancelled, and didn't know what I would think of this strange new show that was Totally Different.
I had read a fanfic in the Clone Wars section of Fanfiction.net about a week before it premiered. I will add to the tags later when I find it. But it was from someone who was so excited for Rebels and since, naturally, there was no fandom yet since it hadn't aired, posted it under clone wars. I, after reading it, was intrigued and decided to watch it premiere night.
It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
By the time Kanan entered the cockpit, talking to Hera about picking up this kid, I was in love with the show. It was so different from Clone Wars, but in a good way. It tugged at my heart and made me laugh. From that day on, I was a fan. I cried when Kanan died, I jumped for joy when Ahsoka descended the ladder (she is still my favorite character of all time).
This little animated show got me through college, when I was still trying to find my identity outside of my family. It was there when I started my very first relationship (who I am happily married to now). It kept me sane on the worst nights, crying when my roommate and her friend broke my heart.
And it's biggest impact on my life? Well, in a strange turn of events, Rebels is one reason I have an English degree.
When I started college, after years of reading fanfiction, I began to write my own. This is important because, when I was young, my dad destroyed any sense of writing fiction.I'm from Appalachia and he disapproved of my fantasy stories, believing my only works should pertain to my culture. Eventually I gave up, and put down every story I had poured my heart into, because I believed that he was right.
When Rebels came along, I was inspired by the community to write. Under the penname PentoPapergal18, I went into college writing a little piece called Silent, yet Heard, where Ezra is mute. It is a rough piece and clearly showed my years of inexperience, but the community was amazing, supporting me. I carried the first draft in a purple binder, writing it out by hand before typing it up.
My professor noticed I was writing in my notebook before her class started and encouraged me to look into an English degree. Because of her, I ended up accepting it as my second major.
Now, I have two self-published pieces, and started a local writers group. I am working on the novel my dad discouraged all those years ago, and plan on attempting traditional publishing. Rebels fanfiction gave me the confidence to work toward my dream again.
(also, I have two dogs named Zeb and Vader. So yeah)
Thank you, Rebels, for giving me comfort on the hard nights. For giving a community that sparked my dream again. For giving me characters that live in my heart forever.
Time and time again I return to your galaxy. Each visit an open hug and a greeting from an old friend. I can never repay you for your impact on my life.
Thank you, Ghost Crew. May the force be with you.

Since you all gave me so many more likes than I thought my sleep-deprived ramblings would get, here's even more Headcanons:
-Uzi and V start the most fights (duh), but Nori jumps into the fray just as much. It takes both Khan and N to separate them. The fights and pouting can take place for days, until N decides they have enough and forces a therapy session
-once they all adjust to Cyn/the Absolute Solver being Uzi's tail, they end up being treated as another kid.
Nori and Khan when the tail irritates Uzi: Cyn, stop bullying your sister.
Cyn: she's not my sister! 'continues making Uzi's life a living heck'
Nori/Khan: that's it, you're grounded!
Uzi: No! Her being grounded means I'M grounded!
Solution? Tail is blindfolded and doesn't have the hands to take it off. When that doesn't work, washing the tail's mouth with the oil equivalent of soap does the trick.
-you know the overprotective dad trope? Well, obviously that's Khan with Uzi. But once he realizes how capable she is (which takes a long time.... he's lovable because he's dense, okay?), he starts being overprotective with N instead. So Uzi starts getting the intimidation talks, and threats of treating N right.
(not that Uzi treats him badly, but they all know the type of feral gremlin she is. She practically is a trouble magnet-And since N 'loves doing anything!', he doesn't normally know what's going on until it's too late--Khan just wants the kids back in one piece).
Anyhow, I hope these little additions bring you a little bit of happiness in your day. If you don't mind, let me know what you think! I don't tend to share my Headcanons, so this is a new experience for me.
Murder Drones Headcanons post episode 8 that absolutely (probably) would not fit in the actual canon....
-since N and V have no families to stay with--and since they went to school we can imply that they are close in age to Uzi. yes I know that N is confirmed to be 21, but maybe that's still considered a teenager in drone years-- they live with the Doorman Family.
-Nori and Khan, who have no idea how to be good parents, is suddenly trying to take care of three murderous teenagers. V hates it; N is just happy that he gets to be with Uzi.
-Nori catches V dragging in a dead worker drone when everyone else is in their sleep cycle.
"is that a dead body?"
"uh....no?" (V has head in hands, and oil on her mouth)
"dang it V we talked about this! You're only allowed to kill one worker a month! This is your second one in two weeks!"
-Khan is still trying to bond with Uzi. The only person he can complain about it to is her boyfriend. N, the sweet empathic soul he is, listens and gives advice.
-(Uzi still hasn't forgiven him for forcing her and Khan to go on a father-daughter camping trip to 'bond'. For two weeks. Alone.)
-N is the unofficial family therapist. During family disputes he forces everyone to sit in the living room and 'talk' about emotions (ew) none of them want to, but N always finds a way to wring out their tongues.
- when Nori finds out about Khan leaving Uzi for dead, she slaps him. She then goes to find N and does the same for trying to kill HER daughter (she won't admit it, but N's puppy eyes makes her forgive him a lot more quickly). She also probably slaps Uzi again for, you know, LEAVING THE COLONY AND DATING A MURDER DRONE.

I've been super into both Murder Drones and SW Rebels recently and couldn't decide which one to draw so. Why not both 😭 Ezra using the Solver while V hangs out in the background is one of the things I've ever drawn but somehow it works!
I was having so much fun with the hand and then realized. He wears gloves. I had a whole reference up and somehow forgot. It's still the best hand i've ever drawn though! Background is totally random and not really related to anything. I think this is probably the best Solver symbol drawing I've done so far!

So y'all, I just started watching murder drones and I need to start by saying I'm OBSESSED. Best television show I've seen in years. I watched all seven episodes in a week, which is a record for me. My husband and I already are planning a rewatch.
That being said, one thing that has bothered me on the show is the lack of empathy for drones who die. Whether it's Uzi or N, the colony doesn't seem to care much when their friends and coworkers are picked up as a glorified juice box Especially since they are shown to have emotions and affection toward each other--if they didn't, Uzi's feelings as an outsider in Episode 4 wouldn't matter, because her connection to her peers wouldn't matter. Nor her anger at her Dad leaving her to die. Nor Doll's story.
In other words, emotional connection is pivotal to making us care for these characters. But when it comes to death, the loss of life doesn't phase them.
It's a minor complaint, but considering how real-life cultures treat death often tell how they view their relationships and purpose in life, I would love to see other fans explanation. Could be a possible canon reason for this? If it's an artistic choice, why?

Hey Rebels fans, I need your help to find a fic. I don't remember what website I read it on, and it's been years.
All I remember is Ezra ends up in some medical bay. The medical (droid?) Tells kanan and Hera that it was due to malnutrition. Basically they find in Ezra's bunk a bunch of appetite-suppressing teas that he had been buying. I think it was because Ezra misunderstood what his allowance was meant for?
I'm convinced this fic was a fever dream. But want to give a shot to find it again.
