Drakath AQW heights, an incomplete analysis

One time, I realized I could measure Drakath's height in various forms. This post is a result of that.

I'll be rounding to the nearest inch for most my measurements.

Please keep in mind none of this is official, and this is an incomplete list of Drakaths. There will also be a reblog with JUST heights, so you don't need to wade through this if you don't want to.

So, you may ask, how is Len to measure Drakath? I mean, we don't have a height chart or anything like that.

Let me introduce you to the "Cysero Door Method"!

"What does Cysero's door have to do with this?"

Well, the average door tends to be about 6ft 8in tall. Cysero and Cinna there seem to be proportional with it, so I'd say that's accurate.

The pitfalls of this method mainly have to do with the fact that I cannot confirm that Cysero's door is 6ft 8in. If anyone were to have a weird outlier of a door, it would be him. There's also the fact that sometimes characters change height in the game itself (more on that later). This should, however, help us get some rough proportions down.

Let's assume, though, that Cysero's door is entirely normal.

In this screenshot, his door is 370 pixels.

6ft 8in to just inches is 80 inches.

We want to know how many inches are in each pixel on this screen, so we can calculate Cinna's height, because she'll be our ruler. To do that, we'll divide 80 by 370. That leaves us with 0.216 inches per pixel! Well, the "16" is repeating, but I wanted a clean number, we'll disregard those and use up to the hundreths place when calculating inches per pixel due to the small scale we're working with.

From her leg closest to us to her head, Cinna is 335 pixels tall. If each pixel is .216 inches, that makes Cinna about 72 inches, or 6ft even.

Now, I begin measuring Drakath Pet, and...

Here's one of the other issues with measuring Drakath. His hair adds a SIGNIFICANT amount of height. So, for most of these. I will be doing two measurements. One with the hair, and one with a rough estimate of where his head ends.

^ Here's roughly where I think his actual height would be if he were bald. Height excluding hair will be noted with a red hitbox like that.

Without hair: 240px = 51.84in, rounding up to 52in = 4ft 6in

With hair: 275px = 59.4in, rounding down to 59in = 4ft 11in

The next section will be much less verbose now that you have the rough method I'm using.

Yeah, uh, I don't think I can calculate Dragon Drakath's height. I can give a minimum, though.

Cinna's height: 6in = 168px, making each pixel .429 inches

Dragon Drakath's MINIMUM height, from chin to top of screen since I don't know where ground level is. He is most certainly taller than this: 720px = 308.88in, round to 309 = 25ft 9in

Cinna's height: 72in = 240px, each pixel is .3 inches

Bandit Drakath, without hair: 246px = 73.8in, round to 74 = 6ft 2in

With hair: 267px = 80.1in, round to 80 = 6ft 8in.

Yes, the hair adds HALF A FOOT. This is why I'm doing two different measurements. This isn't even the most egregious amount.

Cinna's height: 72in = 237px, each pixel is .304in

Drakath in Eternal Chaos, without hair: 323px = 98in = 8ft 2in

With hair: 362px = 110in = 9ft 2in

IMPORTANT NOTE: I am disregarding his claws because they wouldn't add to his height unless he were tip-toeing on them, and I'm pretty sure he's not.

Cinna's height: 72in = 240px, each pixel is .3 inches

Eternal Drakath, without hair: 341px = 102in = 8ft 6in

With hair: 379px = 114in = 9ft 6in

Then I remembered I should measure Holiday Elf Drakath.

Hatless: 115px = 34.5in, rounded to 34 bc he's a wittle guy :3 = 2ft 10in

Hat: 142px = 43in = 3ft 6in

Cinna's height: 72in = 204px, each pixel is .353 inches

Kid Drakath, without hair: 151px = 53in = 4ft 5in

With hair: 168px = 59in = 4ft 11in

Note: I am just guestimating where his legs are tbh

Cinna's height: 72in = 237px, each pixel is .304 inches

Crownsreach Drakath, without hair: 275px = 74in = 6ft 2in

With hair: 277px = 84in = 7ft

Cinna's height: 72in = 192px, each pixel is .375 inches

Mirror Drakath, without hair: 196px = 73.5 rounded to 74in = 6ft 2in

With hair: 212px = 79.5in rounded to 80in = 6ft 8in

Last one for now, that one Ledgermayne cutscene

Note: I am PRETTY sure this is the only 13LoC cutscene where HeroKath are standing right next to each other in a way I can measure, but it's difficult to tell where his hair ends. Added height for hair is in green.

Cinna's height: 72in = 364px, each pixel is .198 inches

13LoC Drakath, without hair: 456px = 90in = 7ft 6in

With hair: 212px = 97in = 8ft 1in

Misc. Notes:

There are two main Drakaths I had issues measuring.

The first is the Darkwolf Bandit Guard which changes height depending on the room you're in.

The second is the Teenager Drakath that shows up once in I think Iadoa's cutscenes? He's wearing the Kid Drakath outfit instead of his other clothes.

The Drakath we know in Eternal Chaos uses the same model as Prince Drakath and I believe Ultra Drakath, I haven't run Ultra or Champion so I can't say for sure, but I believe it's safe to assume they're all in the same height range.

Also I do find it REALLY funny that Mirror Drakath is slightly shorter OMG

how do you feel about the latest aqw main story release?

(hey sorry I know you were probably referring to a previous main story release prior to the Shadowflame arc but I already played through the finale so that's what I'm gonna be focusing on for this post jaskldjsa I HAVEN'T PLAYED THROUGH THE NEXT ARC I'M SORRY I'M TOO UNDERPOWERED)

I'll admit, the Shadowflame arc didn't exactly appeal to me at first because of how weird Malgor's introduction felt, but as the story went on and we get more and more hints of what the story has in store, everything just clicked and I am HYPED to see how the next story arcs are gonna go :D

(Also it probably helped that Eclissy’s the one in charge with writing the finale and I’ve been a fan of her work since I was pretty new to the AE fandom so sdjlkasjd)

BUT YEAH, Malgor having a direct connection with the player is honestly predictable, and I can't ignore the whole 'QoM gets killed deus ex machina style' plot hole, which to be fair, our player character IS KIND OF A LIVING EMBODIMENT OF NGL

(plus I'm pretty sure they just did this because she was shown to be too OP at that point in the story and too many things are going around at the same time for them to come up with a cohesive narrative *ehem* CUT CONTENT *ehem*)

However, the execution made the reveal all the more worth it for me since the new writing style meant that there's less time to fuck around and more time to focus on the meatier parts of the story (something this saga DESPERATELY NEEDED after the whole cut content fiasco).

And the lore!!! THE GLORIOUS LORE!!! I knew there had to be a reason why the primordial gods of the in-game universe seem so distant when compared to the Avatars and the other members of Lore's pantheon! It also helped that the finale has strengthened a lot of the headcanons I had for my own fanfic + solidified a lot of Ezyra's backstory elements, so now I'm more comfortable tackling that aspect of the story lol

Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the Shadowflame arc, and now I'm HYPED for the next releases! I think AQW's story is in good hands :D

That Villain!Mirror!Drakath story outline you and shroom made hits differently now after doing the 7th quest for the Lord of Order class.

Like best boy sounds a bit too absolute with wanting Lords of Order to stop any form of rebellion in the desc of the quest (most likely from Mirror!Alteon usurping the throne), and I feel like that plays into the au too well

Like, goddamn Drakath, that whole 'those who rule must not be opposed' speech feels like it comes from a pretty dark place, ya know? I know keeping Order is supposed to involve fighting against rising rebellions and all that but. . . Does it have to be all that black and white? Is there a fine line he might cross between order and tyranny in his quest to keep Order intact? CAN he even realize when he's gone too far?

But maybe instead of doing so to attack Sepulchure, it was because he lost control after he stepped in to save him? Because I recalled that Mirror!Drakath mentioned that Mirror!Sepulchure sacrificed himself to save him from Mirror!Alteon back in the day (I can imagine that this, like, trauma bonded him with Mirror!Gravelyn somewhat askdjalks IT'S SO DARK BUT I HOPE THAT'S THE CASE) HAVING MIRROR!VICTORIA BE THE ONE TO TURN HIM INTO A DRAGON WOULD ALSO BE COOL/TRAGIC!!! Maybe she manipulated him with his feelings in some way to transform and cause havoc! Although Mirror!Cysero is kind of unlikely since he's technically his friend in the canon game ASKDJASD Honestly IT'S SO FUN TO THINK ABOUT :D I hope we get more lore on his backstory

Weird Mirror Drakath Headcanon Post

I’ve sort of realized my takes on him are substantially different than what we’re actually given in canon. So… this is sort of a quick compilation of my thoughts on him so I can easily link it for reference elsewhere. If other people get something out of it, I’d be honored, but also I recognize not everyone will agree with my takes.

First and foremost, Chaos is not Evil. Chaos is change. AQW nearly beats you over the head with this at certain points, but I think I need to lead my headcanon post with that, because that alone heavily influences how I see Mirror Drakath.

Order also does not represent good. Order represents law. There is a Right Way to do things, a Correct Way for the world to run. There are rules in this world that must be obeyed. The Champion of Order is the one who makes sure they are, that no deviations from the norm happen, and if they do, they’re adequately punished and purged.

Here’s one of Mirror Drakath’s quests for the Lord of Order class, called Ordinance:

“Rebellions must be suppressed, those who rule must not be opposed.”

So, with that all out of the way, hopefully this gives a lot more context to my personal opinions and headcanons!

Is less upset that his father was killed, and more upset that the Divine Right of Kings was ignored. If Evilteon had gotten the throne through perfectly legitimate regicide (if such a thing exists, maybe a duel or something), then Mirrorkath would have absolutely no issues with him. The bulk of his issues with Evilteon stem from the more chaotic nature of his actions, not the evil parts.

Again, his loyalty lies with Order. Not Good, not Evil, Order. Although his current life circumstances mean he’s aligned with Good more often than not, that doesn’t mean he’s Good, that just means Good is more aligned with Order than Evil is.

I think being kind to the hero and fighting for Good is what serves Order best right now. He would have no qualms about betraying them if that were no longer the case.

Has no actual self-esteem. Believes himself to be a tool of Order. Not much beyond that.

This man is going to have the worst mental breakdown of all time. Genuinely. I think his “well that’s how the world is supposed to work” mentality has lead to so much repressed emotion. At this point, he doesn’t feel much of anything. However, given that nearly every Drakath is doomed to die (with the exemption of our specific Drakath, though he is implied to have been doomed to die in Iadoa’s questline if you couldn’t stop him), I don’t think Mirror Drakath is any different.

In short, I don’t think Mirror Drakath is nearly as benevolent as he might initially appear. I think there is a Lot going on under the surface, and I do hope we get more of him

If any AE games got adapted into an animated series, which one would you like to see and what would the artstyle look like? What would be the age rating?

Ooh, that's an interesting question! :D

From the get-go, I'd say that of all the AE games that I've played, Dragonfable is definitely the one I'd want to see the most be adapted into an animated series. I know based on majority of my posts that I'm clearly more of an AQW fan, but if I'm being honest, Dragonfable's storytelling potential is leagues better due to the fact that it’s not afraid to delve deeper into its characters and lore.

Classic AQ and Mechquest are close contenders due to the sheer amount of stories they have, but unfortunately I find it hard to keep up with their plots due to their game mechanics lol

In terms of art style, DF's art is already distinct on its own, so it would be interesting to see how animators could utilize this. Sure, it might end up looking more like an old-school anime, but I feel like simplifying it like they did with AQW's art style might hurt the overall impression since the game is a lot grittier in nature.

But can you imagine an anime based on Dragonfable??? That would be cool as hell ajsldjsaasd

As for the age rating, I feel like a PG-13 rating would suit it best since the game is originally made with younger audiences in mind, but it gets more intense as the story goes on, so a bit of precaution wouldn’t hurt XD

As for your question, oh man these two could not be any more different when it comes to dealing with an overworked Hero ASLKDJSAD

From the get-go, I can already tell that Chaos!Drakath is horrible in dealing with this situation XD that guy is infamous for not knowing when to quit once he sets his mind on things, so I have a feeling he'd probably be the type of person to tell the Hero to just suck it up and do better lmao

BUT PLOT TWIST, we all know he's not one to outwardly voice his concerns, so I'd imagine he'd indirectly try to help them (with a healthy dose of denial on his part). This could come in the form of him outright temporarily banning them from Crownsreach (if the Hero is actively working with Drakath), or ordering someone to keep an eye on them in case they attempt to do more work (so they could maybe knock the Hero out and put them on house arrest to force them to sleep askldsajd)

Basically he’d make no direct communication with the Hero, because he’d rather die than admit that he’s worried about them

Mirror!Drakath's reaction on the other hand is a lot more sympathetic to the Hero, since the guy is overworked to hell and back and he understands the Hero’s struggles so he’s more than willing to help.

Because of this, he’d make sure to do anything he can to encourage them to get some rest, so expect him to go mother hen mode on them (with their permission, of course. He won’t hover unless it’s wanted). If the Hero is working under any of the factions in the Alliance, he might go out of his way to have a word with their respective leaders to grant the Hero some time away from official hero duties (it’s not really needed, but the Hero’s stubborn streak is so well known that having extra support wouldn’t hurt lol)

Technoblade has been such an inspiration to many of us, and his passing, although painful, will not change the fact that he has made an impact in this community that will be felt for many years to come. He will continue to make us smile from beyond the grave through the videos he had left behind, and I am forever grateful to be one of the millions of fans to be part of his legacy, small as my contribution may be.

Although I may not be in the fandom anymore, my heart goes out to all of you who are grieving the loss of this man. Mourn for as long as you need, as even though most of us never knew him that well, he was still important to many of us just the same.

Rest in peace Technoblade. Thank you for everything. We’ll miss you dearly.

Maybe around the beginning of the Lords of Chaos arc he didn't really spoil them that much? Like he'd give a few gifts here and there whenever they give him particularly good ideas or if they did a good job on something, and he treats it as more of an incentive so they'd stick around longer.

But over the years when they establish themselves as Drakath's most trustworthy generals, he'd be more sincere with his intentions and the extra familiarity would mean that the thoughtfulness (and frequency) of his gifts would become more noticeable XD
