A Hidden Gem: Ellie Miller x F!reader

You get a little gift for Ellie :) Lmk if ya’ll want me to write more! Word Count:1209

Dismounting from your horse, you pat him on the side. Indicating he did a good job on today’s supply run, you found a lot of good stuff to surprise your girlfriend Ellie with.

“Nice work today, Whiskey.” You smile at the large spotted horse

Whiskey neighs back at you as if he understood what you said; you like to think he does. You weren’t really a people person; the only one you really talked to was your girlfriend. Sometimes you don’t even know how you had the courage to talk to her and become her friend, let alone start dating the woman.

You walked Whiskey back into the stables and gave him an apple you snatched as a snack before heading back to your shared home with Ellie, excited to show her the goodies you found that you hoped she would enjoy.

Opening the door, your grin grew at the sight of Ellie sitting on the couch in front of your shared bed, reading her favorite comic. To be completely honest, it was the only comic series she has ever read. It was surprising to you how she and Joel would find the exact same comic in different parts of America on their way here to Jackson a few years ago when they were trying to get Ellie to the Fireflies to make a vaccine for the non-infected.

At the sound of the door opening, Ellie's head pops up from the comic. You swore you saw a gleam in her eyes, but that could just be the sunlight reflecting in those enchanting green irises of hers.

“Hey, you were gone when I woke up this morning." She spoke with a hint of disappointment in her voice, but her facial features said otherwise. Her face seemed happy to see you, but then again, when isn’t she happy to see you? You were the first person she really befriended; when she sat next to you at that movie night a few years ago, something just clicked.

“I was signed up for the early supply run this morning, had to go find some stuff around the area.” You spoke softly, closing the door behind you and making your way over to where she was sitting.

That was something Ellie appreciated about you—how soft spoken you were. In this shitty world full of pain and danger, you were like a radiant light in her life. You were someone that brought peace wherever you went, the people of Jackson would smile around you, the kids would always ask to hang out with you, and people would literally trust you to watch their babies when they needed to run some errands or go on patrol.

Although you were one of the most peaceful people Ellie had ever met in her life, you were also a dangerous one.

Not only are those lips of yours extremely dangerous to get lost in when she kisses them, but you’re a hunter.

A literal hunter.

You knew how to kill squirrels and other little creatures since you were 10 with a bow and arrow, eventually growing to be able to headshot any living thing with a sniper from a distance.

How could someone so gentle and graceful be so threatening? Honestly, Ellie kind of found it hot.

“Ellie?” You questioned her, waving a hand in front of her face.

“Hmm? Sorry, were you saying something?” She says,the dreamlike gaze is still on her face.

You laughed softly, this was a common occurrence around you. Even though you have been dating for almost a year and a half now, you still find Ellie gazing at you with the same look on her face. Whether it be from across the room, or if you were just laying right next to her in bed, waiting for the sun to rise.

“I said I had a surprise for you. ” You spoke softly

“What kind of surprise?” Ellie wiggles her eyebrows suggestively.

You place your hand on her face and push her away from you, almost knocking her out of place and onto the ground.

“Ellie Miller, get your mind out of the gutter, or I will leave this room right now and you will never get your gift.” You deadpan.

“Ok! Ok, after though?” She smirks and continues wiggling her eyebrows, lowering her voice as if trying to entice you.

You lift an eyebrow at her antics, but you can’t deny that you found it extremely attractive.

“You might want to after I give this to you.” You counter with lowering your voice and giving her the siren eyes that you know messes with her.

Ellie immediately straightens up and is ready to do whatever you ask of her. Not gonna lie she is turned on.

“Close your eyes.” You instruct.

Confused by such a request, she follows anyways. She trusts you more than anybody, maybe with the exception of Joel.

You unzip your bag and pull out the box, it took up most of your backpack, but you didn’t care. The other goodies were stashed somewhere in a safe place in that store, you’d go back for it later.

Placing the box in front of her, you instruct her to open her eyes.

Opening those beautiful green eyes, she looks down at the box with suspicion.

“I swear if you brought me a huge mushroom or something-”she jokes, then shuts up after seeing the contents of the box.

You puff your cheeks in excitement and watch as she pulls out a plethora of her favorite comics.

Looking through the front covers of all of them with her jaw dropped in surprise, her eyes widened as she realized that it was the entire fucking series.

“What the fuck?!” She screams

She begins to stutter, asking where you found this, how you found this, how she can repay you (let's be honest, she will after this), and just multiple “what the fucks” coming out of her lips.

“During the supply run, I checked this abandoned house a little bit further than we usually go. There was this giant room full of books, and I rifled through a bunch of boxes and found those. There was no one who would claim them, so I just took them for you. I know you’ve been dying to see how the series ends, so I thought this hidden gem would be a nice surprise.” You said this to her with a soft smile gracing your features.

“Have I ever told you how much I love you?” Ellie whispers, staring straight into your soul.

The way she said it made your heart race—there wasn’t a hint of a joke behind it; it was the pure truth that she spoke from that rough mouth of hers.

“How about you show me instead?” You suggest

Ellie pushes the box to the ground, taking its place in between the two of you, cupping your face in her calloused hands, and kissing you as if it were the last you’d ever share. She poured all of her love and adoration for you into that one kiss.

And well, one thing led to another, and lets just say Ellie got what she wanted before she found out what the real surprise was ;)
