I don't think I've ever explained why I love the Ron and Draco pairing. Since I joined the fandom, I've never been into Drarry or Dramione. The more popular a ship is, the less I like it — with exceptions, of course. But I don't ship Ronako just because there’s nothing else. I genuinely see potential.
Everyone has their own reasons for loving a ship. Sometimes it’s one glance or a moment. For me, it's a whole narrative. Ron and Draco are full of contradictions, yet oddly similar. Brave vs. cowardly, poor vs. rich, loud family vs. lonely aristocrat. And they know each other’s families. It’s not just personal — it’s ideological. Blood status, values, upbringing.
And visually — sun and moon. My aesthetic side just melts. Ron lashes out with fists. Draco insults with words, too well-mannered to get physical. Yet both are deeply insecure. Draco hides it behind arrogance. Loved but emotionally stunted, he thinks friendship is transactional — like his father taught him. He has no real friends.
Ron feels invisible - surrounded by his dazzling brothers, his beloved sister, and the Chosen One himself. Even when he shines, he’s quickly belittled. Remember when he became a prefect? His joy was crushed immediately.
Fred and George mock him. Meanwhile, Draco keeps a composed front until pressured — then he crumbles. "I'll tell my father!" — the ultimate cry of helplessness. He hides behind family because he doesn’t know how to stand on his own. He’s trapped in a cocoon of privilege.
These two need therapy — and each other. Their confrontations are emotional explosions, and I love it.
Yes, I know Drarry is more ā€œcanon-adjacent.ā€ Half-Blood Prince reads like Drarry fanfic. But it’s also full of Snarry hints (my guilty pleasure).
And let’s not forget: Draco once wrote a poem about Ron. Yes, insulting — but still, who writes poetry for their enemies? Draco constantly taunts Ron’s poverty, his ā€œblood traitorā€ status, as if it personally offends him. "I would’ve overlooked your poverty… if not for the mudbloods." That's roughly how I feel about Draco's relationship with Ron.
Okay, now to the fantasy bit. In my headcanon, they realize their feelings mid-fight. That overwhelming, confusing tension — fists almost fly, but instead, a kiss. Chaos. Denial. Hidden corners. Growth.
It wouldn’t be easy. But if they survived the war, the trauma — I think they could’ve built something powerful. Passionate. Real.
I prefer staying true to the original personalities. I hate when Ron is dumbed down into a joke to make Draco shine — happens in both Drarry and Dramione. But Draco’s no hero either. He’s a coward. Flawed. Human.
People call him an alpha — but he’s never been one. That role fits Ron better. Brave, rough, insecure, smart — not perfect, but real. Both are intelligent but stuck in circumstances that hold them back. And that’s what draws me to them.

How am I just now realizing this HOLY SHIT… what if Severus’ patronus is a doe not because of Lily but because of Harry 😭 theirs technically match the same way James and lily’s did !!! Severus x Harry or Severitus confirmed??? lol jokes aside tho it is definitely something I’d love to see touched on more with their dynamic! Especially because jk Rowling and Harry himself comment on it as a seemingly romantic thing to have matching/ and or complementary patroni.

people who don't experience hyperfixation don't know what it feels like to hyperfixate so much on something that it becomes not only your subject of obsession but also your source of happiness and literally the main reason why you still keep going; literal source of strength and life.

Harry hated it when Snape called him "Potter." There was so much contempt and alienation in that word that it seemed to him as if Snape was deliberately protecting himself from him with that word, like a shield. Harry generally didn't like comparisons with his parents, and from Severus's lips, those comparisons sounded even more painful. During his school years, he responded with anger to the attacks of the Potions professor, defended James's honor, not even suspecting what history this man carried with him. Now he knew, and it only made his soul heavier. Harry could no longer hear - "a copy of his father", "his mother's eyes". He was no longer a boy who tried to understand who he was in this world. And yet his mind returned to this painful topic over and over again, because he understood that, looking at him, Snape saw in him the shadows of the past, and not himself. Lily's eyes, James's appearance, a shadow of memories… Harry unconsciously tried to prove to Severus, to himself, to those around him that he was not just their son. He was a man who had been through the war, had seen many deaths, was ready to give his life to save his close friends, had survived and not broken. But in Snape's eyes, it seemed to cost nothing. His gaze, as always, was cold when turned to Harry, always contemptuous. As if those minutes in the screaming hut had never happened. As if everything had remained at the same level. But at the most unexpected moment - when Harry hands over one of the ingredients for the potion, and lingers his gaze on the sharp features of the man, he catches something. Barely distinguishable. The gaze of onyx eyes meets Harry's. This gaze… It seems to Harry that they look into each other's eyes forever, but it is only a couple of seconds. And in these couple of seconds, he saw what he dreamed of seeing for the last couple of years, to see affection in these eyes. Not contempt. Not indifference. Snape saw Harry in him. The real one. Always saw… That's what made him keep his distance. He says: "Potter", so as not to say in a voice full of affection and warmth "Harry". It's easier that way. It's cruel, but it's necessary. He can't show weakness. Because recognizing Harry means breaking the protection in his wall that he's been building for years. He does this not only out of memory for Lily, but also out of respect for the life of the one he's protected for many years… He has no place in the life of the chosen one.

I made myself a new avatar inspired by one photo. I can't say that I'm happy, I clearly screwed up the collar. It seems like I spent two hours on it, but it turned out… Well, something turned out. The main thing is that I was able to convey the face, the rest can be forgiven. It won't be visible from a distance anyway.

Someone is drawing Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, a role that just doesn't suit him, in tone, energy, or plot. But you know what does? Kingsley Shacklebolt.
Fan art on this topic. Paapa as the powerful, magnetic Auror he was meant to be. I want to see this character shine, not rewrite his legacy.

For many of us, the character of Severus Snape is not just a character. He is a symbol of difficult life decisions, internal struggle, self-sacrifice and bitter love. His image is contradictory: he is cruel, rude, sarcastic. But it is precisely because of this that he has remained with us all these years as one of the deepest and most controversial characters in the Harry Potter universe. We grew up with him, rethought his actions, forgave, admired. And that is why I want to preserve his book image on the screen with all those emotions, depth and that dark aura that made him unique. I do not want his identity to be reduced to racial disputes in public perception - no matter what anyone says, such a focus will inevitably be, it already is. And this overshadows the very essence of the character. During this time, I have already written several letters to the official address of the HBO with a request to pay attention to the position of the fans. Now I want to ask you to join - but exclusively in a civilized and official manner. Our strength is in adequacy, not aggression. Official address for feedback: [email protected] Please, if you decide to write a letter, be polite and formal. Do not use threats, insults or toxicity either towards the company itself or towards the actor Paapa Essiedu.
We must show that fans are not a bunch of aggressive trolls, but adults, smart people who are sincerely concerned about how their favorite story will be adapted for the screen. I understand perfectly well that not all fans have a strong position regarding this situation. Some don’t care, some are interested in seeing a new approach. But the fact that some don’t care doesn’t mean that others don’t have the right to want to preserve the canon.
We are not against changes in general – we only advocate for preserving what is important to us in this story. This is not hate – it’s about love for the story we grew up with. If you're not ready to write a letter, but still want to support, you can sign the petition on Change.org. It will only take one minute, but you will already give a voice to the general fan appeal.
We need to be heard. And every voice counts - especially before filming begins.

What can I say? The worst-case scenario just became reality.
The casting for the new Golden Trio has been officially confirmed. And surprisingly — it looks promising. But for fans of Severus Snape, the biggest disappointment has also arrived.
His entire character arc — rich with internal conflict, trauma, and redemption — has now been flattened into a single issue: race. Suddenly, James Potter is painted as a racist. Which then makes Harry racist. And now, anyone who disagrees with this casting choice is also labeled a racist.
This oversimplifies everything. It strips away the complexity that made Snape one of the most morally layered characters in the series.
This could’ve been a fresh take — a reboot that respects the source while giving us something new. And to be fair, much of the cast does reflect the canon in one way or another. But for Snape… this feels like a rewriting, not a reimagining.
I just can’t pretend this isn’t deeply disappointing.

I don't like the dominant Snape in Snarry fanfics… This bat always wears robes that even cover his neck. He's clearly one of those who uses the word "sex" only as a term for reproduction.

When he wanted to make fun of Ron because he had a fight with Harry, but something clearly went wrong… (Awkward teenage dialogue)
— Oh! Would you look at that — Potter’s little puppy got lost and is now wandering without his owner? — Malfoy’s voice, as always, was drawling, with a hint of sadistic pleasure. A badge reading ā€œPotter Stinksā€ gleamed on his robes. Ron clenched his teeth so hard they almost squeaked.
— Shut up, Malfoy, — he hissed. — I’m not in the mood for your stupid jokes.
He tried to walk past, but Draco smoothly blocked his way — like a smug, buzzing wasp.
— Oh-ho! And where are we off to in such a rush? — the Slytherin drawled sweetly, leaning against the wall. — I simply can’t pass up the chance to savour your misery. What, you and Potter no longer holding hands?
He clapped his hands theatrically. — Break-up? Or are you just afraid he’ll trade you for Diggory? He is older. And much more... manly.
Ron froze for a second. Confusion, embarrassment — and then a rush of colour flooded his face and neck in blotchy red patches.
— What the hell are you on about?! — he rasped, too stunned to even yell.
— Oh, don’t pretend, Weasley, — Draco went on, lowering his voice to an almost intimate whisper. — You’re walking around all sulky because Potter doesn’t give it to you in bed anymore, isn’t that it?
For a moment, there was complete silence. Ron opened his mouth, probably to retort — but what came out was something entirely different:
— If you don’t shut up right now, I’ll fuck you myself. Got it?!
The temperature in the corridor seemed to drop several degrees. Malfoy’s face froze, his eyes widened, and his trademark smirk halted halfway into something closer to panic.
— ...Are you serious? — he finally breathed, like he wasn’t sure he’d heard it right.
Ron stood rooted to the spot, clearly just realising what he’d blurted out. His face turned crimson all the way to his ears. He spun around, and almost yelling in embarrassment, barked:
— Merlin, Malfoy, fuck off!
With loud footsteps, he stormed away — as if fleeing not only from Malfoy, but from himself.
Malfoy was left standing alone in the empty corridor, looking like he’d just been smacked in the head with a Transfiguration textbook. He blinked.
— ...What the bloody hell was that?.. — he muttered, still not quite believing what he’d heard.

Tokenistic casting decisions often serve as a convenient defense mechanism for studios when projects underperform.
Rather than acknowledging poor writing, weak direction, or misaligned creative vision, some producers shift the blame onto the audience — accusing them of bias, intolerance, or superficiality.
But casting is not merely about filling a role with someone talented; it's about creating a believable and coherent character within the story’s world. A mismatch between an actor and the role, especially when done for optics rather than narrative integrity, can alienate audiences and disrupt immersion.
Such decisions frequently backfire — not because viewers oppose representation, but because they can sense when it's insincere. This results in frustration, not with the actor or the group they represent, but with the creators who reduce complex identities to checkboxes.
Instead of sparking meaningful inclusion, forced or shallow representation can create division and backlash, ultimately harming the very causes it claims to support.
