May Kickstart: Tradiio
Tumblr media
Tradiio is a revolutionary new music discovery platform that will help new artists emerge in a crowded digital music space.
Music fans stream songs by up and coming artists and then ‘invest’ in the ones they believe in the most using virtual coins that they are given on signing up. They can then win rewards like festival tickets, vouchers for record shops and headphones for ‘investing’ wisely.
Artists upload their music and can earn rewards like festival appearances, label deals, videos for singles and studio time if they raise enough ‘investment’ on the platform.
Tradiio is a completely different experience than other music platforms that users don’t really engage with. Tradiio users are influencing the careers of the artists they are listening to, as well as building themselves reputations among their peers, giving them an emotional link to the platform

May Kickstart: WhichIt
Tumblr media
Which-It drives sales by putting brands in front of a highly targeted audience in a playful choice selection app.
Users can share up to four images in one go, inviting the Which-It community to vote for their favourite. In the process, brands can crowd source valuable feedback about their products.
Users are able to navigate directly from Which-It images to brand sites, creating a simple buying journey. Additionally, brands can capitalise on voting trends with targeted, real time offers.
This innovative start-up increases social engagement as well as gaining valuable analytics in a choice selection app.
Social influence and addictive voting drives users to interact with brand content which increases engagement. This increase in engagement converts into sales with a simple one-click buying journey and the ability to immediately rewards and identify potential customers.
Which-It collects granular data about age, gender, location and consumer preferences and is then able to target products to the people most interested in them, providing them with offers the instant they express interest.

MAP Kick-Start at #Discovery3
On Thursday 16th April, over one hundred clients, prospects, technology partners and industry thought leaders gathered on the sunny Deck of the National Theatre for the most recent installment of Discovery.
The third event of its kind Discovery III took an exploratory look at social insights, the big data potential and how important it is for brands.
We were lucky enough to have some guest speakers from our Kick-start scheme...
Our first guest speaker was from new start-up which is changing the way world consumes, interacts with and shares video- ‘Reframed.TV’. We were fortunate enough to have one of the founders of the company, Kev Price, to come and join us at the deck to explain in a little more detail what Reframed.TV is all about.
The Reframed.TV mission is to become the glue between social media and video, by allowing users to be able to create conversations with time-specific comments in video, then letting them share these conversations with links to other followers. Online reviews on Reframed.TV have seen it be referred to as a “second-chance twitter” and “Pinterest for video moments.”
These comments and conversations are then synced to a video with a time-stamp so that any other user can join the conversation with one tap, whether it is an hour, week or even a year after the initial video has been publicly released. Comment activity is then displayed visually in an easy to follow graph form over a timeline so people can instantly see the points of interest of the video. This allows Reframed to gather keywords that describe the content of a video at a specific point, which is vital for content owners and allows them to deliver search results of exact moments within video.
Reframed.tv is a fantastic and innovative technology which is one to watch out for in 2015!
http://reframed.tv/
Our second guest speaker was Shirona Partem, the Business Development Director of new start-up ‘Idomoo’, a personalized video start-up which claims to accelerate customer engagement through simple integration with your CRM data.- a new take on ‘personal marketing’.
Idomoo helps brands deliver on the promise of customer personalization: addressing each customer individually with relevant experiences that matter. This therefore is able to reach the customer on a personal level as well as a consumer level.
Millions of Idomoo Personalized Videos have now been created to fuel customer satisfaction, acquisition, retention and brand loyalty. Since they burst on to the start-up scene in 2007, Idomoo now see themselves working with some of the world’s biggest and best brands such as Sky, Barclays, Vodafone, Cadbury’s, Zurich and many more- and 2015 is set to be their biggest and best year yet!
Website : https://idomoo.com/
Our last talk was given to us by Adam Stamper, the founder of social engagement start-up, ‘Hashtag’d’, a platform which makes it really easy to set up and manage hashtag-based campaigns out of one place, pulling in UGC from all over the web.
Hashtag'd helps brands and agencies run user-generated content campaigns (across Vine, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook) that really resonate with their audiences. They have built the world’s first self -service platform for agencies to manage and run 9 types of engaging hashtag-driven social content campaigns.
Before Hashtag’d, using user generated content was a legal grey area. With it we can identify, reach out and claim UGC and plug it into our campaigns without concern over repercussions. Previously we’d have to manually contact users, whilst now we can just tick a box and let the platform do it for us.
Hashtag’d works by the consumer selecting the campaign hashtag, chosing content types and times. From there, the Hashtag’d team starts curating text, photos and videos across all different social platforms and then moderate and automate the rights clearance. From there, you as the consumer can showcase entries, build a content library and foster new fans. It’s that simple!
For us as an agency this is particularly interested as we can take this UGC and plug it into our media channels -particularly digital and DOOH –which enables us to update banners and ads in real-time, making our comms more relevant.
You can check hashtag’d out here-  https://hashtagd.net/
Once all of the start-ups had explained about their companies to us, it was time to get the audience involved in a ready, steady, cook style vote. Each member of the audience was given three cards with each of the start-ups logos printed on to them and asked to vote for which they found the most compelling, relevant and interesting.
Although it was a very close vote, a huge congratulations is in order for Hashtag’d in winning our ready, steady, start-up challenge!
Well done.

A little more about MAP Kickstart...
Kick-Start is a new project that brings together MAP(Mediabrands Audience Platform) and the tech start-up companies based around Silicon Roundabout in Old Street, London. On this site, you can find information about the start-ups involved in the competition, and watch video interviews with the founders.
MAP is the specialist services division of Mediabrands, the global media network. In partnership with Mediabrands’ two main agencies (UM London and Initiative UK) MAP services some of the UK’s biggest brands, including Tesco, H&M, Royal Mail, The Economist, Travelodge and General Mills, and also has a growing number of direct clients.
MAP Kick-Start is a rolling competition that takes place every month. The MAP team choose three tech start-ups to competitively pitch against each other. Each winner enters into a partnership with MAP to work on live Mediabrands client projects.
This exciting opportunity gives start-ups a much-needed financial boost, and enables them to take their enterprise to the next phase, while benefitting from the in-house expertise of MAP. Our clients, in turn, have early access to emerging technologies which they otherwise would not be aware of.
To help us achieve this, we’ve enlisted the help of Ken Valledy, CEO of Tech2Brand. Ken joins the MAP kick-start council of Craig Lister, MAP Managing Director, Andy Butters, Head of Programmatic, James Fairweather, Digital Strategy Director, Ben Austin, Head of PCC, Rob Lloyd, Head of SEO, and Ollie Bareham, Head of Mobile.

Vidsy
Tumblr media
Vidsy provides unique opportunities for video creatives, by connecting them with brands to tell stories, develop ideas and create engaging video content.
Vidsy have developed a unique process that enables brands to scale creativity, to utilise the creative power of millennial to produce the brand content they will watch and engage with. Brands launch challenges on the Vidsy platform and our creative community efficiently produce lots of branded micro videos, which are distributed online by the brand.”
If your campaign needs great quality short form user generated video content quick, then Vidsy is at hand. Through their own network of content creators (mainly arty/graphic design type students) you can have heaps of genuinely amusing, real, and quality short term videos purposely built for your brand and campaign objective…at a reasonable cost.
A great way to kick-start a campaign focused around submitting UGC, gives you content to push out to generate more earned media. Although some consideration needs to be given around how this is positioned with your audience.
Great for creating sponsored brand ambassadors, in-line with some of the work we have done with You Tube talent in the past, although clearly without the followers so a greater focus on content to be pushed via existing social channels.

Airspace
Tumblr media
Location, location, location – this is no longer just a phrase banded about by estate agents. Brands and retailers are now looking at ways to engage with consumers while they are out and about, in real time, delivering targeted messages that will effect purchase decisions.
Beacons are becoming more recognised and finding the right platform for clients to use is becoming more difficult, but Airspace are able to make everything a while lot more simple.
Integrating the Airspace SDK into clients apps will enable them to augment their locations and keep in touch with their consumers on the move.

Formisimo
Poor on-site user journey can be the difference between campaign success and failure.
MAP have built out our expertise around SEO, Content and Site Analytics, and are now are in a position to affect the users journey from beginning to end.
Simple tool which gives us fast and actionable analytics to quickly optimise and forms which can be the barrier to campaign success.
We've all had campaigns fail for reasons that were seemingly ‘out of our control’, a poor user journey on-site can be the difference between campaign success and failure.
However increasingly the lines of responsibility are being blurred, at MAP we have built out our expertise around SEO, Content and Site Analytics, and are now are in a position to affect the users journey from beginning to end.
This is a great simple tool which gives us fast and actionable analytics to quickly optimise and forms which can be the barrier to campaign success.
As our first start up through the door, we are already testing Formisimo with our clients – Formisimo has helped with The Share Centre to pinpoint the ‘problem fields’ on site in much more granular depth than we might see from looking at page data alone:
Insight into the fail ratio by device is helping to steer mobile strategy
And usability hurdles can be identified in far more granular ways, around the site elements causing users to leave the log in process.

Sliide- Start up of the month
The lock screen is one of the most sought after pieces of real estate on the mobile device, and one that brands are desperate to “own”.Sliide gives them this opportunity!
To be successful, mobile advertising needs to be both targeted to the consumer and offer a genuine value exchange. By rewarding their users for engaging with the brand, Sliide has given brands a chance to be the first thing their consumers see when they unlock their mobile device.
Simple, effective and rewarding.

MAP Kickstart
It is a little known (and unsubstantiated) FACT that Mediabrands UK HQ is the closest global media network to Silicon Roundabout! As such, we wanted to maximise this unique opportunity by creating a deep connection with the thousands of tech start-ups that are spilling out of Old Street.
To help us achieve this we have enlisted the help of Ken Valledy, a former In-Bev client with 10 years+ brand marketing experience, turned ‘start-up specialist’. Ken spends his days helping start-ups to understand how brands are thinking, and how they can connect with them.
Our goal is to become the first port of call for any exciting new innovative tech company.
-          How does this help us?
Best in class Technology
We are now in a great position to get a first look at the freshest home grown tech start-ups before any other agency. Our crawlers are constantly searching for the most relevant partners to our business.
Differentiation
This means real differentiation between us and our competitors. Something we can go out and excite new and existing clients about.
Helping Out
We’re genuinely helping to kick-start these new businesses. Meetings are as much about delivering feedback on their product or pitch to agencies and brands, as they are about discovering great tech.
