The Weight of Joy (A Remus and the Pack Meet addition)
Just another excerpt from the story I write until i fall asleep. this takes place somewhere in the middle of the story. Joy is an OC I made fir this story, she is a young woman who Remus meets out in the meet.
The crack was deafening, and then complete silence. His feet hit the ground hard, and with the weight of Joy in his arms, his knees buckled. They had landed in the park near Grimmauld place, head on a swivel to make sure no one had followed him or seen. The park was practically empty, it seemed, and out of the few people around, no one turned his way. He breathed a sigh of relief and looked down at the young woman in his arms. Her skin was pale, eyes closed, and with his own chest heaving from the adrenaline, he couldn't tell if she was breathing or not,
“Come on, we're so close.” he whispered to her, pushing himself off the ground one leg at a time. His vision was starting to swim from the pain, but he could see the row of houses ahead. It was as if there was an invisible rope pulling him along, forcing him to stay up or else he’d be dragged.
Left foot.
Right foot.
Left foot.
Right foot.
Up over the kerb.
Past the front gate.
Up the pavement.
He fumbled his hands at the door, trying not to drop Joy as he rang the bell. He stood for a few moments, trying to hear shuffling on the inside, knowing full well the silencing charm was still in place. He rang it again, pressing a couple of times with urgency. Finally, the door opened, and Remus shoved his way in without looking at who was on the other side,
“She needs help, she needs medical attention.” he rushed down the hall, deaf to the questioning voices demanding his attention, and set Joy on the dining room table, pushing everything on to the floor,
“Remus.” The voice behind him was urgent, however he still did not respond, his focus on Joy and Joy alone,
“Remus!” the voice shouted and it finally stopped him, he turned around in anger because no one was helping! Why was no one helping!
“She needs help!” he shouted back, his vision so blurred he wasn't even sure who he was looking at.
He realized he was crying.
Someone had stepped around the table and was examining Joy, a hand to her neck to check for a pulse. The person looked at whoever had been calling his name and shook their head slowly. The figure across from him let out a breath,
“Remus, she's gone, I’m so sorry.” there was now a hand on his shoulder and he shirked it away,
“You're bleeding, we need to see to that. Lily, would you mind getting Sirius for me?” The person who had checked Joy's pulse left the room.
“You need to sit down, you look as if you're about to pass out.” Remus could feel his bones screaming for rest, swaying where he stood. The figure rushed forward and pulled over a chair, guiding Remus to it.
Remus could see the features of the man's face now, past the blur. It was Peter. His blonde fringe hanging limp in his blue eyes, “Pete, she needs help. Please, you have to do something.”
Peter looked at the woman on the table, shaking his head regretfully, “There's nothing I can do, Remus. She's dead.” Remus looked back at Joy, reaching a hand out; his fingertips touching her wrist, , “She can’t…” he whispered to himself.
“Remus.” a new voice, almost breathless, came from the doorway. He knew it straight away, and without hesitation he stood up, clasping his arms around the man, burying his face into his shoulder.
“You were right,” Remus sobbed into the Sirius’ neck, and in return Sirius pulled him close; a twinge of pain ignored as Sirius’ arms rested on the open wounds of his back,
“Youre alive. Merlin, I thought you were dead.” Sirius let go and looked at his arms, feeling the damp of the blood,
“Remus youre bleeding!”
“We keep trying to tell him that.” Peter chimed in. Sirius grabbed Remus’ waist and pushed him away so he could see his face, however Remus was pulling away towards Joy, “Sirius, you have to help her. She needs our help. I ca-”
“Remus, we need to take a look at your injuries. Pete?” Sirius fixed his gaze on the woman on the table, “Will you do an exam, see if we can't get any evidence of what happened to her? I'll take him to my ro-”
“‘Killing Curse’.” Remus mumbled,
“What?” Sirius asked for clarification,
“Greyback used the Killing Curse on her.”
Sirius and Peter exchanged a look, causing Peter to nod in unspoken agreement. He held Remus’ arm, “Come on, you can tell us about it after we fix you up.”
Remus didn't have the energy to protest, he was pulled along out of the room. He couldn't turn back, too afraid his knees might buckle, so he let Sirius lead him up the stairs and into the attic that was used as his room. He’s walked this same path so many times, but every step and turn felt like he wouldn't know where to go if Sirius wasn't guiding him.
The other man pulled over two chairs he had at a table, turning one around, “Here, sit backwards so I can examine your wounds.” Remus listened, straddling the chair and using his arms as a head rest. Sirius got to work, cutting off his shirt with some scissors and cleaning off the blood with a spell. Sirius stilled at the sight,
“You were shot? What wizards are using guns these days?” He asked.
“Not all werewolves are from magic community.” he simply said, closing his eyes and trying not to wince as Sirius started removing each buckshot, carefully drawing it out with his wand. The man worked in silence, placing a healing salve on each small hole. Most of them had already healed almost completely by the time he was done.
Sirius helped him up and handed him a stack of clothes that Peter must have brought while he was focused on the pain, “Have a bath; get changed. Rest. We can talk tomorrow.” Remus wanted to hold onto him, and he knew sirius wouldn’t make him answer too much before he was ready to talk,
“Will you stay?” He realized it may have sounded like a pitiful request and started to open his mouth to backtrack when Sirius nodded and whispered “Of course I will.” Looking towards the attached bathroom, “I'll draw a bath for you.” And stepped through the open doorway, Remus listening to the squeak of the knobs and the whoosh of water escaping the spout.
It didn't take long for the tub to fill, and without being asked, Sirius helped wash the blood off his back and face. They were too familiar with each other's bodies to be embarrassed, and even if they weren’t, Remus was too exhausted to care. He had been bathing near complete strangers for months now. The hot water running over his body felt like heaven. I
t had been so long since he had bathed comfortably and not just trying to get over with for the sake of hygiene. He wanted to tell these things to Sirius, about the luxuries he had missed, but he found he could barely say anything at all let alone answer Sirius’ more basic questions like “is the water too hot?” He had replied with a grunt that was meant to specify ‘no’. Seemed to work.
Sirius left him, and it wasn't long until Remus’ eyelids started to feel heavy from the warmth of the bath and the utter exhaustion. They kept flying awake in fear, but he could see Sirius through the doorway, laying back on the bed with a cigarette in his mouth, and he felt himself relax just enough to drift into sleep.
He awoke to a hand gently laying on his arm, but he jolted slightly and Sirius backed away to give him space, “The waters become cold, best not leave you to get sick.” And Remus nodded but barely had the energy to lift himself. Once dressed they made their way back to the bed. Remus was asleep before he even hit the pillow.

“Your mother was there for me at a time when no one else was”
But Lilly loved Remus with all of her soul
She never really knew why or how she just knew she couldn’t remember it any other way. Remus the only other boy in potions class who was just as good her and Severus , but simply shrugged off the praise he received with muddled comments about things he could have changed. Lilly liked to think she was the first person to notice the only compliments he ever smiled at were the ones from Sirius.
Remus being her go too dance partner in the Gryffindor parties, the way he’d awkwardly shuffled when she’d first pulled him up but never refused, the routine being so established to the point James would complain and dramatically throw himself onto Sirius the moment an ABBA song came on because Lilly’s eyes would immediately find Remus no matter where he was.
Lilly and Remus who’d spend hours in silence after the prank with nothing but a collective understanding that a mutual betrayal was heavy in their veins.
Lilly who’d vowed she’d become the best healer the universe had ever seen when Remus hissed in pain no matter how gentle she tried to be with his scars on the nights he was too tired of his own reflection to do it himself.
Lilly and Remus who’d stifle laughter while incorrectly explaining muggle concepts to their boyfriends
Lilly and Remus who’d snuck away from the end of term party and drank fire whiskey while confessing their fears of what graduation meant for their futures.
Lilly and Remus who walked back to the dorms arm in arm with hope and tears in their eyes.
Remus softly smiling when S.O.S began to play at a James and Lilly’s wedding because he knew any moment lily would have him by the shoulders dragging him to the floor and everything would feel normal for a moment.
Remus who was the first to hold Harry and immediately crumbled into tears the moment the baby opened its eyes.
Lily who’d held that same baby to her chest Halloween 1981 and began to mumble over and over after she heard James fall
“uncle moony will take care of you,”
“Uncle moony will come get you”
Because Remus knew Lilly better than she knew herself
Remus would know this happened.
the last thing she remembers thinking before the door lach clicked isn’t even a thought, it’s a prayer
Remus would take care of Harry.
Remus who would fight off tears in a train compartment years later the moment his own eyes opened because just for a moment
Lilly Evan’s was alive
and he could swear he heard the beginning lines of an all too familiar song;

I've only made like four posts abt them but I think I talk abt moonwater too much
YOU KNOW A GUILTY PLEASURE SHIP OF MINE THAT I DONT TALK ABOUT ENOUFH?
moonflower. (rem x lils)
I love jily, I love moonwater, but FUCK dude they're so hot together
smut-ish stuff under!! not very good but very self indulgent
Like ugh I need a fic abt enemies to lovers w them where they're fucking gnashin teeth (not actually cuz that HURTS) making out in closets. like they're the first to explore eachothers bodies but they're not happy about it (they're overjoyed but don't wanna crack until the other does) Rem's gripping lily's hips so hard but so gently, trying to pretend every thrust isn't making him tumble faster and faster to the edge to the point where he's on the verge of tears letting out whimpers from how hard he's trying not to cum. Lily refuses to before Remus but she's losing her mind and furrowing her brows cause he's twitching so violently inside of her and this is nothing like what the girls described.
in the end, they end up cumming together because neither of them could hold it any longer, Lily with high pitched moans mixed with rapid pants and shaking and Remus with a choked sob and a hard final thrust of his hips. yes I'm pushing my 'Remus cries when he cums' agenda. sue me.😒 they clean eachother up and dress up and cuddle right up until quidditch practice is over and the boys return to the dorms, Peter too busy doing peter things with benjy in the ravenclaw dorms, and they just pretend they studied the whole time the boys were gone.
both of them insist to themselves that it was a one off, will never happen again, yet always find themselves in similar positions whenever a chance is given, always swearing that it was the last time.

Remus & the Pack Meet
-this is a story i add to whenever Im trying to go to sleep and cant. its just a bunch of bits and pieces of a bigger universe. (if you see this also posted by an account called oscarthegrouch, thats also me I just accidentally posted to it and now cant delete it)-
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“By Merlin, this is the worst idea I’ve ever heard. James, tell him he’s an idiot.” Sirius paced the sitting room, arms folded, then flailing, and folded once more. James was looking up and over his glasses from his desk chair, a pile of parchment stacked high in front of him,
“He’s right, Moony. This isn’t a very thought out plan.”
“How can it be!?” Remus threw his arms into the air, “we’ve no clue what Greyback is intending to do at the Pack meet. Who better to find out then,” he gestured to himself wildly, “a bloody werewolf!?”
“He’s right, Pads,” Peter chimed in, “We really should find out more, Greyback has always been a slippery one, and if we’re to chip away at You-Know-Who’s forces, it could help to start with one of his ‘Generals’, as we might put it.”
Remus sighed, “Thank you, Pete, I appreciate your support.”
“It’s still a stupid plan, though.”
“Pete!” Remus groaned, “Like I said, there can’t be a plan. We don’t know enough, first of all, and second of all, I have to act as natural as possible. I have to play as an open-minded recruit. Easy as pie.”
“That’s not the point!” Sirius interjected, stepping to the center of the room.
James cleared his throat, “We also don’t know what intel he has on you. They could very well know you're part of the order and have a trap set in place to get to the rest of us.” he added, “our lives have been connected for years now, they most definitely have all of that on us.”
“Yes, but they don’t know that you all know I’m a werewolf.”
“Bingo.” Pete sang,
“Except for Snape, that weasel.” Sirius huffed.
“And whose fault is that?” Remus muttered under his breath. Sirius whipped around, but the other man was looking pointedly away and no one else seemed to hear. Pete added on, “And he’s most definitely a death eater by now.” Quiet noises of agreement filled the stale air,
“We could just play it off as you all being prejudiced towards werewolves and I’d had enough, so I joined the pack.” Remus attempted the resolve, finally looking at Sirius with arms extended towards his biggest objector,
“You will not go about telling people we’re racists!” Sirius placed a hand on his chest in shock.
“You would be the most believed, Padfoot. You know, with your family background and all…” Peter mumbled the last bit, but Sirius had heard all the same. His mouth, agape, closed and opened multiple times with intent to make an argument, but it was no use. He had nothing in response, so he sat angrily on the settee, arms crossed and pouting.
“So, its settled th-“
“It is NOT settled!” Sirius cut Remus off,
“Yes, it is.” James followed with a sigh, “We all know there's no stopping him. He’ll go whether we support the decision or not.”
“Well, he should take into consideration what his best mates suggest, which is staying the fuck away from Greyback!”
“He is standing right here,” Remus interjected loudly, silencing the others before they could argue with him anymore, “and knows that you all are just trying to keep him safe. But I am capable of this mission.”
Sirius chewed at his cheek, arms still crossed. Remus looked to him, but Sirius avoided his gaze, instead choosing a snagged length of string on the rug to analyze.
“I leave tomorrow at dawn, but I'll make sure to write up as much information on my whereabouts before I go, just in case things head south. Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to collect my things.” Remus headed towards the large oak door of the sitting room,
“Need any help?” Peter asked, looking up from his book,
“No, thanks. I should be able to handle it.” He turned the knob and exited, closing the door gently behind him. The room was quiet for a moment, the only sound being James shuffling parchment and the now distant steps of Remus upstairs,
“Bloody fucking werewolves. The lot of them.” Sirius spat, “he's going to get himself killed.”
“He’ll be fine, he always is.” Peter sighed.
“Until he isnt,” Sirius mumbled, and them much louder argued, “he's not invincible! I mean, he cried in year three when you told him the seafood chowder was made from the Giant Squid. Remember, James?” James blew air through his nose in humour,
“Merlin, the guilt after almost ate me alive. It was horrendous. But we aren't thirteen anymore, Pads. We all want to do our part in this war, and he feels this is his.” James looked over the parchment in his hand once more before levitating it to where Peter was sat, “look over this for me, will you?” Peter huffed in annoyance, “if this is the menu for next week's dinner again, I swear on Merlins beard-“ the parchment stopped mid-air, then slowly started to float back to James, who was looking down sheepishly.

An excerpt from a wolfstar story I only add to when I can’t sleep. The doc is called “Remus and the Pack Meet” and its about Remus joining a Pack Meet run by Greyback in order to gain intel for the order.
—-
“Im losing him, Pete. I dont even know when it started and that terrifies me that I hadnt noticed. Hes pulled away.”
Sirius held his head in his hands, almost collaped over his own knees. Peter poured the scotch into two glasses and chilled them with a quick wand flick. He brought one over to sirius, who looked up, eyes puffy, and took the glass. He gave Peter one long sad stare before downing it in one, flinching at the taste as it warmed his insides.
Peter took a swig of his own, “he knows what hes doing. Hes always been better at calculating the outcome.”
Sirius shook his head, “not when it comes to himself. Hes always taken the biggest risks on his own.”
Peter hummed in agreement. Remus had always taken the biggest risks because he knew if he got into bigger trouble, atleast three of them would be safe from harms way. How james and peter didnt see the resemblace of the matter at hand was beyond him,
“I love him, pete.” Sirius choked out. He was doing his best not to cry, but his best only went so far. He had never said the words with this meaning before, nor had he ever admitted the change in their friendship to the others.
That didnt mean it wasnt known about though. There were jokes tossed around about the two lightheartedly, but nothing had ever been discussed or confirmed.
“I know.” Pete said. Sirius knew he didnt just mean we all do, “he knows.” Peter added, and Sirius had to turn away and hide his face, swallowing thickly. He felt a hand on his shoulder and he leaned into it until Peter instead wrapped is arm around Sirius and pulled him close. Sirius wiped at his eyes and and gave a self deprecating chuckle,
“Sorry. Dont you have a date tonight youd rather be at? I know you said Winifred had sent you a calling card, and she was quite the-“
“Sirius, its no bother.” Peter interrupted simply, and ruffled Sirius’ hair, earning a slap to his hand. Peter laughed but returned his hand to Sirius’ shoulder,
“Thanks, Pete.” Sirius said quietly after a moment. Peter hummed in acknowledgment.

✨✨underdog
@wolfstarmicrofic (288 words)
service dog sirius? say no more
"You have a cute dog, sir."
The boy can't be older than six, and Remus watches him sprint across the field towards him with a warmth spreading in his chest. He shoots an odd smile, every other tooth missing in his mouth, and that just makes the warmth spread wider.
"Why thank you." Remus gestures to the black furry animal sitting under the bench. "You can give him a pet, he's very gentle."
The dog in question pokes his nose out between Remus' legs, and the kid moves his hand towards it cautiously. As Padfoot peeks his face out more, chasing the kid's hand, the little boy giggles but the fear in his eyes, even so small, is noticeable.
"His name is Padfoot," Remus smiles. "He's my service pet. See his vest?" Remus moves his legs so Padfoot's body is visible, and the kid tries to read the red sign that is over his belly. "So it's okay to pet him, because he's trained."
"He's so soft!" He takes both hands now, petting them over the dog's head, behind his big ears, and down his furry neck. The dog keens at the attention, and Remus can hear his tail thumping on the pavement. He pets him for a few more minutes before he runs away, chasing a butterfly back down the field.
Remus tugs on Padfoot's leash, and they walk a little ways down the street, turning into an alley. Remus turns to make sure no one is around, and by the time he turns back the dog is no more.
"And you say you don't want kids," Sirius grumbles, buttoning his coat.
Remus just rolls his eyes, but he can't get rid of the warmth in his chest.
