I would ask you to read more, but from now on you will see this message on most of the Polish TV stations and online news services:
Tumblr media
Media without choice Here's where your favourite Internet service was supposed to be. You will not see any content here today though. See what the world will look like without independent media. Media bez wyboru has launched. Please read our letter to the government of the Republic of Poland. For us, the most important is so that YOU have a choice. We thank our users and partners for understanding and support. (Onet)
Yup, here's what it looks like:
Tumblr media
In brief:
So, shit is going down in Poland AGAIN. We're now openly being ripped off our most reliable, objective and independent sources of information, because the government is using Covid as an excuse to charge taxes. For refusing to pay the new, ridiculously high tax, the independent media are boycotted by the national press and tv and accused of "tax fraud" and "not caring for the country's healthcare and heritage protection" ???
Please share

This is not directly studyblr-related but I want to speak to the student community. I'm a 21 year old female architecture student from Poland. Today my day started as usual: made myself some coffee, took an English exam, worked on my assignments for uni. Then I decided to take a break and started scrolling my Facebook feed and the terrible news got me. Today Polish Constitutional Tribunal confirmed restricting abortion laws even more by banning the possibility of ending pregnancy in case of fetus' genetic defects. Despite of huge protests of Polish women that took part in October and significant social disapproval. Despite of European Union threats to impose sanctions on Poland. Despite of global media criticism.
One hour after hearing the news I was out there on the streets fighting for my fundamental rights. Walking side by side with hundreds of furious Polish citizens that are constantly ignored by the government and bullied by the Police. This is how living in this country looks like. In the morning you revise for your exams, in the evenings you riot.
I just wanted to say that I have absolutely no regrets and I want the world to know that tommorow I'll skip studying to fight for my rights too. Stay strong and always remember what's important. Your freedom is.

I'd only like to add that I find it incredibly sad that only other Poles seem to be interested in what is going on in our country and react in any way to those posts.
I know posting on Tumblr doesn't do much. But it can raise awareness. It can be a warning. The more people hear about this, the better. So pass it on.
I want to remind you what is happening in Poland recently.
In October polish government officially banned abortions in cases when fetus is genetically damaged. It's almost illegal to have abortion now, but they want to ban the only case available for now, that is pregnancies resulted from fucking rape.
Person who wants to do that is a woman. Woman who is hurting other woman, because she gave birth to a child with down syndrome. She is able to raise him in good conditions because she is a "politican" and have money for that.
There is isn't any help for families who are raising disabled children. They have to do that on their own, government cares only if they give birth to them, after that you can kiss they ass.
Problem is also that the church has really role for government which is really conservative. They don't fucking understand that even if they are against abortion, they should respect other people rights!
KIDS IN SCHOOL CAN GET BETTER GRADES IF THEY WRITE A POEM OR DRAW SOMETHING AGAINST ABORTION
They also made a law which causes up to 3 years in prison for doing an abortion.
If you are from Poland or want to help, then please sent that phone number to everyone who you think wants to get an abortion but live in poland, this is number to Aborcja Bez Granic and they help people get that without problems;
+48 22 29 22 597
They also gave a lot of money for politicians, but they refused to give any money to mental healthcare for kids.
They gave 2 billions złotych to TV station instead of giving any money for kids oncology. They are fucking monsters.
They call LGBTQ+ people an ideology, not humans.
They are sending people to jail for rainbow.
Police is beating people on the streets who calmly protest for getting their rights back.
Church is getting more and more power on government.
I have had enough.
Education system is overloaded and we barely make it to study everything they say we have to and they are still giving us more to do.
They fucking love polish Pope Jan Pawel II but he fucking caused epidemic in Africa and he was protecting church pedophiles.
I don't want to live in country like that.

the aesthetic of living in poland is wondering whether you have the power to stay and fight for your rights or to leave this goddamn country and never come back

The Polish Constitutional Tribunal has published the justification for the ruling that bans abortion on the basis of foetal abnormalities. Those kind of abortions accounted for 98% of all legal abortions in Poland.
This is the ruling they made on 22 October 2020, and which caused the huge wave of Polish Women’s Strike protests over the last few months.
This publication means the ruling is now LAW. This all means ABORTION IS VIRTUALLY COMPLETELY ILLEGAL IN POLAND AS OF TODAY.
Still, we will not give up. We will protest, we will fight. THIS IS WAR ✊⚡️

on 27.01.21, 4 months after they held a vote on abortion in case of lethal defects of a fetus, the constitutional court officially published their sentence, making the new law come into force.
just so you know, 98% of abortions in poland were performed because of that very reason.
from now on, the abortion in poland is practically illegal.
god i wish i could abort the government in this god-forsaken country
