Took the day off after an epic launch at work. After almost a year of hard work, 30+ teams, over 100 people, over 1000 jira tickets, 100s of confluence pages, tons of decks, countless meetings, endless coffee, and a very long launch weekend with 4am bedtime, I'm still processing what we've done. What we've accomplished. How smooth it went and how prepared we were. It wasn't perfect, no. (But people and technology typically aren't.) It was, though, about the best scenario we could've imagined. It's interesting because there's this dichotomy on social media, particularly on IG. I'm a mum. Yes, clearly. Love being one. Definitely my top interest and priority. But also a working one. Which takes up a significant portion of my time, thought, and energy. Pretty sure this was the very first corn maze for all of us. And we did great, considering it was hot and during lunchtime, and I didn't want to rely on my dying phone for directions. I listened to the traffic and found a side of the maze, which I could see through and know which direction we needed to head. I was going to slam myself for a bad sense of direction but I got us out in about five or so minutes of when the kids wanted OUT.
