I love all flavours of mellodramattic but the one where Mello is agonising over the fact that Matt is too good for him and believes that he deserves someone worthier and better than him, while Matt is just there thinking that there is no one better than Mello, that he couldn't have asked for someone more perfect and everything about him is objectively lovable hits different. not only because Mello’s inferiority complex, but because technically they didn't really outgrow that kind of teenage mentality. they are barely adults by the time they die and Mello has been too focused on the Kira case to work on himself, to find his worth outside the Wammy's lens, while Matt waited years all alone just for Mello to reach out to him again, so his mental picture of Mello is the one he grew up with, not the one he is actually just getting to know during the Kira case. he idolised him as a kid and saw him as the definition of better, so he's happy to tag along and help as an adult. Mello can't accept that. he wants Matt to realise who he is in reality and have him walk away for his own sake, even though he can't really let go of him, because it's the only thing making him believe that he can still be the best, as long as Matt sees him as such.

the other day i was having a conversation with my girlfriend about marble hornets coming back again on youtube and i accidentally said “creepypaster” instead of creepypasta and its so funny i keep laughing every time i think about it, i feel like that one tiktok audio of the guy saying he made his kids the “mona liser” out of a squid game cookie and he was going to make them melatonin milkshakes or something

im gonna sound fucking high; but there’s just something about minecraft ‘body language’, man.

the way people crouch and do little bounces/bows to say hello, i’m friendly! the way they punch as a substitute for pointing or waving hello. the slow pulling out of weapon as a threat, quickly removing armor to show you are peaceful. sticking little signs in the ground and writing messages. the way people‘s avatars go still when they are thinking, or laughing so much their hands came off the keyboard. square eye contact. jumping, spinning, bobbing your head to music. punching your friend jokingly.

half of it is human perception but the other half is ways of communication we created ourselves, because people just are like that. they express themselves.

i know its just a block game but looking at it is so soothing and im feeling emotional tonight

I’m bored. Here’s how I think death note characters would name their cats if they had one

Light: he’d give it one of the most common cat names in Japan like Momo or Hana or something because he’s basic like that

L: some extremely human sounding English name like David or Margaret that makes you wonder if he has a human in his basement

Misa: either something cutesy like Princess/Hime, or she’d name it after Rem which totally won’t cause any problems later dw about it

Near: wouldn’t name it. That cat is just getting called ‘the cat’, ‘kitty’, etc

Mello: some shit like ‘Lord Archduke Excalibur IV Conqueror of Dusk’ but in practice he just calls it Archie or something

Matt: Mew. Mewtwo if he gets a second one

Takada: she’d name it after some type of flower to make it sound elegant, like Himawari (sunflower) maybe

Matsuda: something food related like Katsu or Dango

Aizawa: something based on whatever colour the cat is, like Yuki (snow) for white or Kuro for black

Lidner: I think she’d name her cat after Mello but not exactly. She’d call it like Melody or Marshmallow or something

Beyond Birthday: he’d name his cat after a method of killing someone. Like ‘Strangulation’ or ‘Vehicular Manslaughter’ or ‘Electric Chair’

Naomi: maybe she’d name it Rue as a sort of memento from the LABB cases

Mikami: it would be really funny if he named his cat Kira but realistically I think he’d choose something normal. Or he’d name it after Winston Churchill
