Jestro (season 5) fan design
Tumblr media
⇛ As promised — here’s my Season 5 Jestro reference. Now let’s briefly break down the key design elements.
As I’ve mentioned before, Jestro has remained a villain. In truth, he never had much of a choice: either side with Monstrox or end up on the gallows. I emphasized his allegiance to the “dark side” through the armor: it draws inspiration from cyber-vampires, but retains partial use of the knights’ golden plating to avoid going too far into “pure headcanon” territory and to keep some of the original design’s spirit.
     ◤Details◥
— Cybernetic arm and leg prosthesis — replaced after severe injuries from the Fortrex explosion.
— Cyber-spine — original spine damaged in the same blast; mechanical neck and neural interface directly linked to his brain installed.
— Glitched crest — corrupted by Monstrox’s digital virus.
▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭▬▭
⇛ Unpopular opinion: at some point, Jestro simply had to abandon his jester outfit. Metaphorically — to say goodbye to his past and the role that was forced upon him. Practically — “Do you not own any other clothes?! You’re not the royal jester anymore!”
That’s why, in my Season 5 fan design, he’s stripped not only of his classic jester hat but also of his colorful costume.

Jestro: Unlimited Power.
Monstrox: Fool! What did you teach him?!?
Palpatine: why not?

⇛OH DAAAAAMN, WHAT KIND OF PANDORA’S BOX DID I JUST OPEN 💥💥💥
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I’m just minding my own business, flipping through an old 2023 sketchbook — and BAM, I stumble upon this ancient comic where the Gray Knight straight-up kills Jestro.
AND HOLY SHIT I NEVER EVEN FINISHED THIS CRAP.
There was supposed to be a scene where Monstrox and Ruina (along with my original character) find Jestro’s corpse. But, well… that clearly never happened.
Anyway, here you go.
God, the art here is hideous, holy hell. That era when I thought long-ass chins were the peak of edgy style — like, you could kill a man with one of those jaws.
P.S. I also found the original script for this comic in my notes. Wild, right? I’ll drop it here (for your convenience, I will translate it into English).
~×××~
(Panel where Jestro backs away from the Gray Knight)
J: H-h-hey, listen, Clay, th-this is… this is all just a misunderstanding. We can still talk this out, right, bud–
GK: *violently plunges the sword into Jestro's gut and pulls it back out*
J: *freezes. In disbelief, he puts a hand to his stomach, sees the blood* Heh… ha-ha… ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
GK: *raises an eyebrow in confusion, watching him*
J: Can’t believe it! I’ve imagined this moment so many times… the way our feud would end. How one day one of us will die. I planned out a hundred different scenarios, so many variations, and you —ha-ha-ha— you went with the most boring one of all! You never were the creative type… *lies down on the grass* Hah… have you ever noticed… how beautiful the sky is? Just look. The stars are out tonight. Like the whole galaxy showed up to witness my death, ha-ha…
GK: *turns and starts walking away*
J: Feels like if I reached out, I could pluck a few stars right out of the sky… they’re so close. They’re right there. They’re watching…
GK: …
J: Clay…
GK: *stops*
J: Smile. Celebrate. You defeated the greatest villain in the kingdom. And also…
GK: *turns his head*
J: Say hi to my idiots for me… *chuckles softly and closes his eyes*

Seasons 1–4: Fantasy medieval world with a sprinkle of tech.
Season 5: THE MACHINES ROSE FROM THE ASHES OF NUCLEAR FIRE—
Tumblr media
A.V.A.
A – Automatic
V – Very-high-tech
A – Android
⇛ I was planning to stay silent about this until it came up in the fanfic itself. But after some brainwork, I realized: yeah, like hell I’m ever finishing that fic.
So here you go—my full-on headcanon brain dump.
Have you ever wondered... how a 14-year-old girl could be that much of a genius? Running the Nexo server, assisting Merlok 2.0 himself, hacking systems, creating security protocols... Even grown-ups would envy her!
So here’s my thought: the real Ava died in early childhood.
Her father—an isolated engineer working at a factory that produced combat and service bots—lost his only child. In a desperate act, he transferred her consciousness into an artificial body. A robot. With Ava’s face, voice, and even her habits.
━━━━┉┅┪□┢┅┉━━━━
Sure, I pulled this out of thin air, but I love it :))

⇛Can I once again bring up my totally pulled-out-of-thin-air theory that Tommy Andreasen either unconsciously (or very consciously) borrowed several ideas and character archetypes from Star Wars for Nexo Knights?
----------- ✶ -----------
• Monstrox — literally Palpatine. The same "ultimate evil" with world domination plans and strategies several steps ahead.
Bonus points: both shoot lightning, hide their faces under a hood, and are old creeps who love little boys.
• Jestro — Anakin Skywalker. A guy who made one wrong move, got involved with the wrong crowd, and ended up as a pawn of a ultimate evil.
• There are always two: a master and an apprentice.
Monstrox and Jestro – Merlok and Clay.
• The Jedi Council = The Wizard Council.
Now you know what the wizards were doing most of the time – warming their seats while the kingdom was going to hell.
• "I am your mother, Clay" – "Luke, I am your father."
• Clay using telepathy at the end of Season 4 — Using the Force.
┝┈┈─── ─── ❬✛❭ ─── ───┈┈┥
And if you still don’t believe our dear writer was inspired by Star Wars, just add the fact that in every of his face-cam videos, there’s a ton of SW merch visible in the background.
Am I really the only one who noticed all of this, or is there some unspoken rule in the fandom not to bring it up?
Don’t think this is the end. These are just the most obvious parallels I’ve spotted. If I find more, I’ll update the post.
Just take my money and give me a Nexo Knights × Star Wars crossover already.

Tumblr media Tumblr media

14.06 Underrated character
Tumblr media
«А я сейчас вам покажу, откуда на Беларусь готовилось нападение. И если бы за шесть часов до операции не был нанесён превентивный удар...»
⇛Yes. Art with my favorite general) He is really the most underrated character - even by the creators themselves. It's a shame that neither his past nor his personality were revealed (seriously, what do you know about him, except that he is second in the army after Jestro?), NOTHING. But I would like to know more about him.
I can't stop changing Garg's design. HELP🔊‼️

⇛I don’t remember if I’ve told you this before, but… BEHOLD! My headcanon about Jestro’s fate in Season 5!
Tumblr media
First, I should say this upfront: I stick to the theory that despite the knight’s armor and all that talk about “redemption,” things aren’t nearly as rosy for Jestro as they might seem.
He’s someone who has betrayed the kingdom twice, and because of that, the trust of those around him is completely shattered. No one believes in him anymore, and no matter how much the writers might try to change that — he has virtually no chances left for redemption. Frankly, the only possible outcome I see for him is a painfully heroic death. Or, more likely, execution as a villain.
So when Monstrox returns in Season 5 and starts attacking the kingdom again, the knights won’t see Jestro as a valuable ally — but rather as a valuable informant. With the right approach, this jester could reveal some weaknesses of the old-new enemy, since he worked with him for quite a while.
Jestro is released from prison, but he’s still essentially a prisoner: he’s fitted with a tracking bracelet to ensure he doesn’t even think about escape or betrayal.
But Monstrox wastes no time. Somewhere in the middle of the season, he finds a way to contact Jestro, and the same old tune begins: “Do you really think they trust you? Do you really believe you’re one of them? They’re just using you, clown…”
And so, the seed of doubt is planted. Jestro starts to reflect. And, unfortunately, everything really is just as Monstrox says.
By the end of the season, here’s what happens: Jestro betrays the knights. Surprising? Not at all. It honestly seemed like everything was leading up to this. The former jester helps organize a sabotage mission at the Fortrex.
Monstrox’s main goal is to seize the central control hub and anchor himself within the Merlok 2.0 system, to finally destroy that old relic once and for all.
Did he succeed? Partially. In a last-ditch effort to save the situation and Merlok 2.0, Ava essentially sacrifices herself. Realizing she doesn’t stand a chance against Monstrox’s army and seeing the hopelessness of the situation, she blows up the Fortrex. Yep. Just like that. She redirects all energy to the main system and makes a big “BOOM!”
And that’s how Ava 2.0 was born — who, basically like Merlok before her, gets transferred into the system. Just kidding. There's another bit of my headcanon involved there, but to keep it simple — the essence is the same: Ava transfers her consciousness into the system, and later helps Merlok hold off Monstrox’s virus.
Back to Jestro, it’s worth mentioning that the clown was right near the Fortrex during this whole special op. He was leading troops and got hit first — the explosion left him severely injured, resulting in the amputation of his arm, which is later replaced with a mechanical one. Cool, huh?)
P.S. I can even picture it visually: Jestro covered in burns, in shock and blisters, then a scene where Monstrox “resurrects” him — a direct reference to the creation of Darth Vader! I’m sure Tommy would appreciate that. Come on, he’s a Star Wars fan and even put in a direct reference back in Season 4. What’s stopping us from making another one?

⇛Hello everyone! This is Mellony Hater speaking, and the first thing I want to say is…
TA-DAA!
Here’s the promised artwork of Jestro as the 10th Fatui Harbinger. Have I completely lost my mind? Well, obviously. Can’t you tell? How else would you explain such an unexpected crossover? But let’s not dwell on the sad stuff. I’ve been wanting to write Jestro’s story in the world of Genshin for a long time, and I finally got around to it.
Jestro was just a common drifter, earning his daily bread through thievery and sleight of hand. He was born in Snezhnaya—a harsh region where it’s a mystery how he even survived. But a hard life didn’t break him—it forged him. He knew the world was full of injustice, and at some point, the lines of morality began to blur for him.
He was pulled from the mud and given a chance by Monstrox — a pure-blooded Khaenri’ahn, cursed with immortality, and one of the Tsaritsa’s closest advisors. What did he see in Jestro? Nobody knows. But for some reason, he chose to recruit him. That’s how the young man ended up in one of the Fatui divisions under Dottore—the 2nd Harbinger. Dottore didn’t object, and soon, thanks to Monstrox’s guidance, Jestro even earned the position of the Doctor’s personal agent... on whom the Doctor then began conducting experiments.
For instance, Dottore openly used Jestro as a "prototype" to test a modified Delusion. That explains why Jestro’s gameplay mechanics involve health loss. He’s the victim of one of the more "successful" experiments.
Over time, Jestro grew tired of being a lab rat and an errand boy. He was frustrated that he was stuck in the status of an agent forever.
And then… a chance appeared.
A letter arrived in Snezhnaya from Capitano, in which he refused to retrieve the Gnosis from Mavuika and asked to pass the mission on to someone else. Not long after, news arrived that the Captain had died in Natlan. That’s when Jestro realized: this was it. His moment. But there was one problem—if even Capitano couldn’t handle the Pyro Archon, Jestro would be killed in the very first battle. So he had to act smarter. Cunningly. Even though strategic thinking isn’t exactly Jestro’s strong suit.
That’s when Monstrox came to his aid, tossing him a few ideas—on the condition that his involvement remained secret. Out of all the proposed schemes, Jestro liked the idea involving the volcano best. Or rather, blowing it up. The plan was laughably simple: create chaos in Natlan, weaken the Archon, and then deliver the fatal blow. No need to fight directly—someone else could do it—and Jestro was more than happy with that.
The time came to execute the plan.
Together with Dottore, Jestro went to Natlan, where they were met with a very cold reception—despite the region’s warm climate. Dottore’s nasty reputation had apparently reached even this far-off land, and the Traveler didn’t make things easier either.
But for Jestro, it was different. No one took him seriously. He was just a regular agent, not seen as a threat.
And that worked in his favor.
Without much effort, he managed to steal a bunch of experimental Delusions from Dottore, which he then used to trigger a powerful volcanic eruption in the Graceful Land Domain. No one saw it coming. Mavuika was forced to rush to the region, which was nearly swallowed by lava and magma, to save the remaining people. She was distracted, shocked, and weakened. That’s when the Fatui struck. Dottore managed to take the Gnosis from Mavuika, but Jestro’s interference didn’t go unnoticed. Rumors started spreading, and soon the Tsaritsa learned the truth. But… she didn’t punish Jestro. She was impressed by his recklessness, his chaos, his unpredictability.
Soon after, Jestro was officially declared the 10th Fatui Harbinger.
⇛ And that’s the story, dear friends. Within the actual plot, this twist is supposed to happen right at the end of the Natlan Archon Quest. That’s when Jestro would appear in the exact "model" shown in the first reference. Later on, he was supposed to show up in Snezhnaya with a new design and be developed in more depth there.

"Dictionary" Miriam is a dryad.
Tumblr media
I mean, who said that the image of a bookish character in glasses had to be some stereotypical librarian? Why would Merlok go through the trouble of sealing a regular librarian into a book? It just didn't add up. So I figured there must be more to the story. Or maybe it really did just come out of some joke about Monstrox falling in love with a dictionary. Who knows what kind of stuff the developers were on? Ask Tommy about it under his video, not me.
Anyway.
After some brainstorming, I came to the conclusion that Miriam wasn’t an ordinary human, but a creature that posed a threat to the Kingdom of Knighton. Merlok actually practiced his spell of sealing someone into a book on her before later using it on Monstrox.
Miriam wasn’t a villain in the traditional sense. She just chilled in her forest near the swamps with her people (the forest monsters) — until humans showed up. Of course, they just had to poke their noses where they didn’t belong. Human interference kicked off all the trouble: they wanted to drain the swamps and build a settlement, but Miriam resisted.
The conflict between the humans and the monsters escalated, and eventually, Merlok got involved. He judged Miriam as too dangerous and sealed her into a book. It's that simple.
▫️ Fun facts:
× As you can see, at least one thing from Miriam’s original design survived — her glasses. Sure, I’m interpreting that detail my own way, but does it really matter? Everyone's long since forgotten this character anyway. In my headcanon, Miriam's bad eyesight comes from getting hit in the face with a torch during the skirmishes with humans. Honestly, it’s a miracle she didn’t go blind.
× Some people like to tie forest and sea monsters to Monstrox, but I think that’s nonsense. In my headcanon, the fire monsters are Monstrox’s actual creations — he made them. The forest and sea monsters, on the other hand, existed before and continue to exist without his interference. Many of them were wiped out in the past, and the survivors now hide away. To give the forest monsters some kind of anchor in the lore, I decided to tie them to Miriam. That way, her character feels less flat.
× Given my idea of Miriam as a dryad, sealing her inside a book feels like an extra cruel twist — locking her inside the very thing humans destroy forests for. Merlok, roll for psychic damage.
