MIT Researchers Introduce PFGM: A Groundbreaking Fusion of Physics and AI for Advanced Pattern Generation
📢 Exciting news in the world of generative modeling! MIT researchers have introduced PFGM++ (Physics-Inspired Generative Models), a groundbreaking fusion of physics and AI for advanced pattern generation. 🤖 PFGM++ aims to strike a balance between high-quality image generation and model resilience. By incorporating perturbation-based objectives and introducing a parameter called "D," researchers can control the model's behavior and produce robust yet visually stunning images. 🔬 Extensive experiments showed that models with specific D values, like 128 and 2048, outperformed existing models on benchmark datasets, setting a new standard in generative modeling. ⚡️ If you're interested in learning more about this revolutionary approach, check out the full blog post [here](https://ift.tt/Pj3xpVd). Writing Notes: Fight Scene
Tumblr media
How to Write a Convincing Fight Scene
In practice, writing a realistic fight scene for your novel is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do.
That’s because fight scenes can be boring to read.
A movie allows the audience to take a passive stance and have the action wash over them.
In contrast, reading a fight scene requires the audience to activate their imagination.
The audience must participate in constructing the fight scene from your clues and seeing it play out in their mind’s eye.
That’s a lot more difficult than getting it fed to you visually.
Below are strategies for writing fight scenes.
Fight Scenes Should Move the Story Forward
The very first rule for fight writing (and writing any scene in general) is to ensure that it moves the story forward.
Say “no” to gratuitous fight scenes that only show off fancy moves or writing skills.
Here’s the easiest way to find out if your fight scene moves the story:
Delete it.
Now, read the scene before and the scene after.
Can you still make sense of what happened?
If the fight caused some type of transition in your story, keep it in.
And remember: Not all transitions are physical. Some are mental.
You don’t always have to discuss the physical aftermath.
You can also explore the mental fallout after a fight.
This can be how the fight moves the story forward.
Fight Scenes Should Improve Characterization
Because reading a fight scene can get boring quickly, it’s important that you focus on more than the bare-knuckle action.
Use fights as a way to explore your character(s) and provide more insight on the following:
Why does the character make the choices that they make in the fight?
How does each choice reinforce their characterization?
How does each choice impact their internal and/ or external goals?
Is this conflict getting the character closer or further away from their goals? How?
What are the stakes for each character? What do they stand to win/lose?
What type of fighter is the character? What are their physical or mental abilities? (Remember that not every protagonist will be a trained assassin, so they’re prone to make sloppy mistakes during a fight.)
Use the fight scene to reveal necessary information about the characters.
Be sure to give the reader a glimpse into the character’s soul and not just into their fighting skills.
Fight Scenes Shouldn't Slow the Pace
In movies and especially in real life, fights go by quickly.
But in literature, fight scenes can slow the pace.
That’s because you have to write all of the details and the reader has to reconstruct the scene in their minds.
However, if you employ certain literary devices into your narrative, you can actually create a taut fight scene.
Here are some tips:
Write in shorter sentences. Shorter sentences are easier to digest. It also speeds up the pace of a story.
Mix action with dialogue. Don’t just write long descriptions of what’s happening. Also, share the verbal exchange between your characters.
Don’t focus too much on what’s going on inside the character’s mind. Introspection happens before and after a fight, not during.
Keep the fight short. Fights should never go on for pages (unless you’re discussing an epic battle between armies, and not individuals).
Hit ’Em With All the Senses
One of the best ways to get visceral when describing a fight is to activate every sense possible.
This includes sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell.
Think of how you can use these five descriptors in your writing to immediately transport the reader to the scene.
Sight
Perhaps the most obvious.
You’ll describe exactly what the characters are seeing and what the reader should pay attention to in the scene.
Hearing
Is a little more delicate.
A fight scene is a perfect time to introduce onomatopoeia into your narrative.
Onomatopoeia - a word that sounds like what it is describing.
Try using more subtle examples, such as:
Boom, Clang, Clap, Clatter, Click, Crack, Creak, Crunk, Fizzle, Gargle, Groan, Grunt, Gurgle, Hiss, Howl, Hum, Knock, Plod, Rattle, Roar, Rustle, Sizzle, Smack, Splash, Splatter, Squeal, Tap, Thud, Thumb, Whine, Whisper
Taste
Be careful with going abstract here.
Instead of using phrases like, “he could taste fear in the air,”
go for something more concrete like, “blood mixed with strawberry lip gloss was a strange taste.”
Touch
Perhaps one of the easiest senses to convey.
Describe how the characters feel and interact with each other physically.
Smell
You often see or hear a fight, but can you smell it?
In person, what would the fight smell like? Probably sweat.
Consider other scents, such as the ambient aroma in the scene.
Example: If the fight takes place in a car garage, there may be the lingering scent of motor oil and tire rubber.
Don’t be afraid to add that into the scene to introduce a different dimension.
When Writing a Fight Scene, Edit, Edit, Edit
A good story is an edited one.
The same rule applies to fight scenes.
A sloppy fight scene can slow the pace of your story and/or confuse the reader.
When editing your fight scene, keep the following in mind:
Don’t include a blow by blow of what happens in the fight. After your initial draft, remove non-essential details that can slow down reading.
Delete flowery language. Extra words drag the pace. Remove every single word that you can.
Consolidate characters to reduce reader confusion and frustration.

Okay, I think I can introduce some new Solarballs OCs, and this may be the last time characters introduction!
Well,I have created some villain OCS, and they are also rogue planets↓
Tumblr media
Maurice is the largest and most vicious planet in the gang.
He has a bad temper and is very irritable.Easily jealous of others, and likes to bully the weak.He will do his best to get what he wants…
He hates Muro very much because his left eye was blinded by her.(Actually, it was because he wanted to steal Muro's moons, but failed…lol)
Garg is the second largest planet, with a cold and indifferent personality. Although he is not mute, he does not like to talk, so he put on a mask for himself. And he always puts on a nonchalant expression.
Besides Maurice and Stirling, Garg generally doesn't like to get along with other planets, so he hardly has friends.
Stirling is the smallest rocky planet in the gang, he is proud of his surface because he thinks it's cool.He tends to get excited easily, enjoys playing pranks on others, like a jerk.
Sometimes what he says doesn't go thought through his brain, so his words can easily attack others' hearts.
He likes to bully the weak just like Maurice, and it's always him who comes up with the idea of causing chaos.
More about them:
1.Maurice and Garg are both 4.3 billion years old, Stirling is 4.1 billion years old
2.Maurice's size is as big as Jupiter's
3.They all don't have moons
END.

Holy shit Mobu is making a post after seventy years it’s a miracle
But hey guys :) I just wanted to share a quick update post. I’ve been uploading less content as of late because I’m very busy with education and life overall. I’ve generally had a hard time being on social media as of late anyhow, but I’m trying to get back to it.
I know a lot of you who follow me are from the Klarion era of my posts, which is fine. However; that obsession has passed and I’m working on more original stuff now! I’ve been neglecting my own stories a lot and I want to start working on them more specifically. So, expect more OC stuff in the future!
Now I’m not saying I won’t post fanart ever again, I’ll probs still draw DC goobers and Gargs stuff every so often, but it’s not my main focus anymore. Young Justice Travelers is discontinued, and I have repurposed the original characters I made for other things! I hope you all stick around and enjoy the stuff I make regardless.
That is all, ill try to keep y’all updated <3

generally when it comes to more physical froiactivities in modern aus i divide them into two categories. 1 is whatever's acting as his assassin equivalent. contact sports and anything with classical training (bar singing. & maybe instruments) go here. these normally need some kind of deeply serious history (from per&trev) (or so they claim) and a very clear expiry date (your knees? fucked). most importantly he has to be dead fucking serious about it to the point that neither we as the audience or froi himself can identify if it's actually bringing him any joy (think christian bale doing the patrick bateman face in newsies dancebreaks. i can't find the video but trust). but he is very very good at it . the other is whatever's acting as his life-changing charynite trip. this is where basically everything else (your school musicals, your big bands, your froitariq pitch perfect shower scenes, etc.) goes. be warned though anything you do here necessitates gargarin being at least adjacent to whatever the activity is (director garg....)

Carbonated Jumbo-Gro.
The ground shook. This was a new phenomena for this part of the country, but far from a rare one. It shook in steady, rhythmic quakes, timed between heavy, excited breathing of whale-sized lungs.
As the shaking intensified, the employees of the bottling plant ran for the exists, blue and white collars blending into a mass of panic. None of them knew why this calamity was approaching them, but it was unmistakably zeroing in on their location.
Maybe he was just thirsty.
The gigantic Jack lumbered forward, his fat thighs generating unbearable heat as they slid against each other, seemingly immune to the sensation of chaffing. In fact, his titanic body seemed to be immune to many of the disadvantages of extreme size and obesity, which was good for him and terrible for the world around him.
He was, after all, extremely sized and extremely obese.
That size seemed to extend to his eager and erect cock as well, heralding his approach like a meaty compass pointing the way. He paused as he looked and leered over the masses of panicking people, licking his lips in an inhumanly massive combination of lust and hunger. He could eat these people, or he could strand them over his most sensitive spots…but that would come later. Right now, he had a mission.
Stepping through the wall of the plant, he chuckled dully as the steel frame easily collapsed under his incalculable and inescapable weight. So many large high pressure drums lay before him, almost all useless for his current purposes.
Except one: the carbonated Jumbo Gro. Jack didn’t know what advantage carbonation gave this wonderful stuff, but he’d long stopped asking logistical and even logical questions about Jumbo Gro. It made him the biggest person on earth, and that was enough. Well, second biggest right now. But that would change in a minute…
At least, that’s what Jack thought. But as he eagerly kicked the other vats out of the way and tried to cross the length of the warehouse to his prize, he found himself in shadow.
“What do you think you’re doing, tiny?”
Jack froze, turning to gaze into the navel of the only person in the world he had to look up to. Garg towered over him, dripping sweat from his ungainly fat folds. His back alone had rolls to make Jack look malnourished, and his thighs were thicker than the other giant’s entire body. This…wasn’t good.
“Going for a drink?” Garg laughed at the obviously ploy. “Great idea! Don’t mind if I do!”
With a casual display of godlike strength, he bent over and ripped the target vat from the ground with his fingertips, greedily sucking its contents dry through fat lips. Jack paled. Oh fuck. Oh no.
The rumbling in Garg’s city block of a gut was even louder than the rumble of his steps, confirming that his drink was, in fact, quite carbonated indeed. And then, the belch.
The loudest sound ever recorded was the 1883 eruption of the volcano at Krakatoa, clearly audible from as far as forty miles away. This new eruption was as massive to the former record-holder as Garg was to a normal human being. The warehouse, and indeed all structures for miles around, simply collapsed, practically disintegrated from the shockwave. Everyone in sight of the mountain of man was knocked into unconsciousness. Even Jack had to clasp his hands to his head in pain.
“Heh…here…it…comes…”
Jack had mixed feelings on not being able to see Garg’s latest growth spurt, but he almost immediately found his entire body pinned under the other giant’s churning sac as the big became even more horrifically bigger. The ground Garg stood on became a crater as the earth itself failed to withstand his unending mass, his echoing moans of orgasmic pleasure rivaling his belch for sheer power. He doubled in size once, then again. He could swear the curvature of the earth was just becoming visible to him. The entire city certainly was. It looks delicious.
Even though it was puny enough to be lost in the shadow of his throbbing cock.
“…HUNGY,” he declared, having neither the will or ability to deny his body, and its insatiable need to grow…

More skin concepts! Each are based off various deep-sea fauna! There will be more made before eventually deciding which serves this massive beast the best in its current niche.
I've added rows of ventral countershading photophores to each concept, which would help conceal the Gargantuan Leviathan from below by matching light output from above and breaking up the Leviathan's silhouette. The photophores along its fins are no longer lures as mentioned in my last post, and are instead used for further silhouette breakup, species identification, and intimidation. The photophores on its tail-tip is the Garg's lure. Its whiskers are usually used for countershading but can also be used for communication.
The Gargantuan Leviathan is able to control the light output from its photophores depending on what the given situation calls for and shows a decent level of intelligence in this aspect, knowing when, what, and where to attack.
I still feel the sperm whale analogy I made in my first post still sort of fits my current version of the Garg, but adjustments to its speculated behavior have been made with the current reconstruction in mind.
My current version of the Gargantuan Leviathan is a deep-sea predator but starts it life in the shallows and move deeper as they grow larger and stronger. Adult Gargantuans usually stay in the deep, only moving up in the water column if sick, dying, or starving. Gargantuan Leviathans use the photophore at the end of their tail as a lure and will often dim or completely darken their dorsal photophores when actively hunting to help conceal the rest of their body. Once prey is close enough, the Leviathan whips around and snatches up its meal in its deadly jaws. While it's hard to show on a full body, Gargantuan Leviathans are covered in extremely tiny jelly-filled sensory pits called ampullae of Lorenzini, which are used to determine when prey is within striking range and help with navigation.
(Even though the Garg's anatomy is still subject to change, If y'all want this base I've been using for concepts do lmk! If there's enough interest I'll publicly release it and perhaps past and future concept bases as well!! I'm also interested in feedback for the possibility of Garg adopt sets to help fund potential extensions of this project and my general life stuff.)

Hi there! I need stuff to doodle and have been drawing other artists’ gargoyle ocs! Do you have any gargoyle ocs you’d like drawn? Or even a canon gargoyle works! Hope you’re having a great day 🐸
Oh hi there! That's a neat and generous idea, y'know?
We have quite a number of Gargoyle OCs, yes... here's some of them!
Liuneddu (it means "small lion" in Sicilian)! He's a small guy, 156 cm, and he often acts like a pet towards people. He's very pragmatic and smart, and loves to help!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Petrina is a small (even smaller than Liuneddu) garg born and living in Palermo. In the 9th of May 1943, her city was mass attacked by Angloamerican bombers; she managed to survive with her brother Atlas, even if some of her clan mates didn't make it, but during one of the explosions her wings were hit and damaged by the debris bullets that started flying as a result of the severe bombing. She was five. Since she's very light and tiny in size, she could have been one of the few grotesques able to fly, but the damage sustained by the wings which reduced the available surface of the membrane, only allows her to glide (and she's not that balanced either).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Inverno (it means Winter in Italian). He's immediately distinguishable by his delicate colors and his malewife vibe. He diligently watches over a winter garden, and that is where he got his name from.
Fatherly, gentle, and very confident, Inverno has a good sense of humor and appreciates those who show sharp wit, and despite his own kindness, he likes the "vicious ones": fierce, brutally honest, or with a clever, venomous tongue.
He's our tallest garg, with 1,80 m of height!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Frisca/Whistle. She doesn't use a name, you can call her whistling!
Tumblr media
(Here she's with another of our gargs, Chatterbox)
Tumblr media
We have other ones, but these are our main ones :)
(And thank you for contacting us! We hope you'll find many beautiful and interesting gargoyles characters that you'll have fun drawings!)
