Everytime people say Katara is always shown in a bad light. I'm pretty sure its only her few haters I've never met who caused this drama. but literally in Tophs character devolopment episodes, people say that the show framed Katara as wrong(spoiler: they didnt). Only a few episodes that were development for her, and not even all of them, made Katara wrong. but even then, shes like 15. I'm not saying theres anything wrong or that Katara is perfect because shes not, shes a 15 year old girl. But I've never really seen Katara put in a bad light, but people claim the show puts her in it(ESPECIALLY TOPH HATERS CLAIM THIS). in the chase episode? she wasn't framed wrong, but i dont think she was right or wrong either, shes used to community work, toph is not, thats why they both had a hard time with each other in the episode in the runaway episode? Katara wasn't framed as wrong.

Toph Haters -

Is it just me, or was Katara never painted as the bad guy during episodes like the chase and Runaway. Toph haters(who are always Katara fans, but not all Katara fans) say that Katara was painted as the bad guy in episodes like the runaway. but, Where?? Toph in the episode ADMITS SHE WAS WRONG for the scams. Katara just wanted to seem fun to Toph so thats why she recommended scamming one last time. I dont know where they watched this scene and got 'THEY'RE MAKING KATARA THE BAD GUY'. Also, Toph haters talk about a TWELVE year old(In her dialogue in the blind bandit episode she outright says it, i dont get how some people missed that) like shes old eough to mature in the episode, the chase, yes Tophs wrong for it, but she also wants to prove she can be independent(LITERALLY, THE BLIND BANDIT EPISODE TAUGHT YOU NOTHING?) . its also just their different ways of living. You CANNOT expect someone to immediately be perfect. and in the episode, guess who got the lesson.. was it Toph or Katara.. TOPH was the one who was pictured in the wrong, NOT KATARA. TOPH. Both of those episodes are TOPH learning a lesson. and here are some other reasons(Taken from reddit) why Toph haters dislike her:

SHE WAS CARRYING HER OWN WEIGHT TECHNICALLY, as she did not ask others to help her set up. if she did something like didnt help set up but took their later food then that wouldn't be carrying her own weight im pretty sure. 2. it was her like second or third day with team avatar, obviously shes not going to think that they believe her. literally, she hasn't been believed in for years and probably doesn't believe they believe in her until episodes later. | She’s always very arrogant. I’d love it if they had someone just completely dominate her in a fight. Such a devastating loss, she has to find faith in her abilities, and she has to have help from her friends, leading to a deeper appreciation. | 1. in the comics I think she has something like this, also the sandbending thing. You don't have to like her. But also calling a 12-year-old girl a 'bitch' just because she acted 12 is weird and odd. | She reminds me alot like my bullies | expect, shes a fictonal character, and you could've turned it off or skipped her parts. also, USER describe their bullies as rich 'rebellious' kids. except, those rich rebellious kids aren't your teacher who needs to be rough on you because your not doing something the way they needs to teach you. Earthbending is rough and stubborn, airbending is not, so Toph HAD to teach Aang like that. we literally see that earthbending is not easy. also, Aang and Toph have a friend dynamic(said in tophs book) and Aang clearly doesn't mind it. He'd speak up if he didn't want her to do it.

WHICH IS WHY ITS AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE. great, now that we cleared up here is the scenario. basically, Aang is still in denial about being the last airbender and believes other airbenders are out there to, once he gets the confirmation that no, no one is the same bending style as you. hes like 'fine, i'll do it myself' So he like idk makes this thing where its supposed to make people airbend, and first he tests out on something that is easily adaptable. and Kataras like 'no, thats not working, stop.' but hes like so obsessed with it that he continues doing it, he then moves on to doing it to nonbenders because hey, you want a defensive technique. get free airbending!! but toph and katara keep on warning him that he needs to stop doing that. but he continues to refuse. Again, I know this wouldn't happen canonically. this is just a ALTERNATE UNIVERSE horror kind of, i guess. also, since its nonbenders his victims would probably be like: Sokka and that one guy who was in a wheelchair "not Suki because she'd can defend herself

i cant stop thinking about how since ATLA takes place in a couple of months, means Katara and Toph have had to have their period near the boys. and im just curious how it would work, I feel like Zuko would be the best at dealing with them since Azula is 14 meaning shes atleast had her period near him, and his mother probably taught him about that. and I know Sokka is brother with Katara, but hes was trying to lead warriors and Katara was most likely doing work with their gran gran. so how would Aang react to periods, hes had mainly male influences before Katara.
