Imagine with Amethyst

For this piece, I chose the word ‘Imagine’ this because Amethyst conjures up for me images of the third eye. Which is intrinsically linked with, visualisation, imagination and creation. Through the third eye, one gains a connection to intuition, insight, and foresight.

Through the use of Amethyst, I believe one can employ imaginative faculties in order to explore and create a world both within and outside of ourselves. Amethyst stimulates the mind and is reputed to increase intelligence. It’s a great stone for stilling the mind and enhancing deep meditation. This stone is deeply connected with spirituality and protection.

Following are a couple of excerpts from writings about the properties of this wonderful stone;

Chevron Amethyst displays v-shaped chevrons of deep purple and white Quartz that “seep” into beautiful layers. It is one of the finest Third-Eye stones for stimulating vision within the self as well as the physical world, filtering the life force from the cosmos via the Crown in its white layers and opening up spiritual and psychic channels through the purple. Speak Your Truth!

So last Saturday I went to a crystal shop to look for some Tourmalinated Quartz. Whilst i was in the shop having a browse, hovering around the stones, seeing what they had and selecting which one I wanted, (there was no Tourmalinated Quartz but I was drawn to some Lapis Lazuli and Amethyst)  a lady walked in and asked for something for sleeplessness. Now, I wasn't eavesdropping per se, I mean the shop is so tiny, you can't help but hear what is being said unless it’s being whispered...

  Anyway, so the Lady complained about sleeplessness and the shop owner said “Well I can recommend some Lavender oil. Have you tried Lavender essential oil?” & the lady was like “Yes I've tried Lavender but I think I need something else or something stronger” (not sure exactly what she said).

 So basically she was looking for something else to remedy her sleeplessness. Right? & the shop owner is all like “Well, what type of sleeplessness is it? Is it nightmares or you just can’t get to sleep” and the lady is like “I just keep getting up in the middle of the night…”

 At this point I was literally about explode. I wanted to be like HELLO! No. not really. I wanted to say,

 Ahem,

‘Hi, I couldn't help but hear your conversation about your sleeplessness. Here's what you should do. Get some Amethyst- |I would say more than one, make it three, pop those in a bag or loose under your pillow. Buy a smudge stick, smudge your room  or whole house and leave the windows open for about half an hour before you get to sleep. How do you use the lavender? Drops on your pillow or via oil burner? Maybe try both and have you tried some chamomile tea. Real, loose chamomile, not from a teabag…. Etc etc etc”

 I just had so much I could have said but I didn't say it and she left. Empty handed and thinking Lavender was her only option. I mean don't get me wrong I love Lavender, it’s up there with my favourite essential oils but it isn't the only one she could use for sleeplessness she could even try Clary Sage essential oil as well as a dark rich oil like Frankincense or Ylang Ylang.

 Why did I keep my lips sealed when I could have helped her. Well I did it because I didn’t want to seem rude and interrupt their conversation or offend the Lady who owned the shop. But I now wish I did. I wish I could turn back time and say everything I could. Maybe even ask for a piece of paper and write everything down for her. I feel as though I let her down. As well as myself. But I've learnt my lesson. I will NEVER do that again. If I have something to say in a situation like that by God I will speak up. I will try not to regret what happened again but seriously, that can never happen again. Fear. After pondering on it I knew it was fear. Fear of what those people might think of me. But I could have helped someone. In fact, I could have helped them both because she could have bought everything from that shop and that woman would have made an earning.

Well, that’s what happened. I really am taking it as a lesson for the future. Moving forward,  don’t be afraid to speak your truth and be helpful. Basically, don’t let fear dim your light.

I finished laying down the Sunstone for this piece last night. I love it so much! It really has a strong vibrant energy. This is the sacred OM symbol. Thus with OM being the sound of light and everything I thought this would be a perfect way to use the Sunstone. Meditation on this would be extremely powerful as would just having it within your space. Hamsa Hand

Just as I promised, I'm posting the third piece I've created. So the third piece I made was this Hamsa hand  I finished making this piece on the 6th of November. I've used cut pieces of Flourite. (I cut them myself using a trim saw)Natural pieces of Amethyst as well as a small touch of Clear Quartz. Board is gilded in silver schlag. I really like this one as its a symbol and I love the Hamsa hand in and of itself as a symbol and amulet of protection. Rough pieces of Amethysts have been used as Amethyst is a well known stone of protection as well as Flourite which also protects and dispels negativity. It's a perfect combination.
