Yeah, super neat magic trick.
Also, very distracting to have a painting of your dad and Lord Viren in the background there.

You know its so funny to me that Karim is always going on and on about how History will be looking back at him as a great ruler and savior of the Sunfire Empire but like at this point he’s gonna be a fun fact foot note.
Children will be learning about The Warrior Queen, Janai and her Queen consort, Amaya and on the side there’s just a little:
Fun Fact!
“Did you know Queen Janai’s younger brother, Former Prince Karim, attempted to overthrow his sister 3 times and all times he failed in increasingly worse ways!”

BNHA Ultra Age - Todoroki Shouto profile
He is one of the most handsome students in Class A, with a cool side like ice and a burning passion like fire. In order to become the hero he wants to be, he faced his past and learned techniques from Endeavor, and acquired new powers to reach even greater heights. Even now that he has become very popular, he still makes an appearance at the annual summer cooldown Gochinko (Five weenies) Festival in Masegaki, bringing smiles to the faces of children with his ice castle and slide.
Todoroki's dedication to work and unbiased fan service has earned him enthusiastic support. He has reached number two on the charts. He is also active in local projects and gives lectures. Many people faint when they see his shy smile up close.
Todoroki Shouto (interview about UA) [see a detailed TL here]
When I first entered UA, I was a narrow-minded person. However, thanks to the friends I met at UA, I was able to reexamine what I really wanted to be. I am who I am now thanks to them. Oh? Yes, Bakugo is also my friend, of course. The other day, he gave me a lamp that didn't work. Apparently he was too lazy to take out the bulky trash. We are good friends.
Q17: What kind of fan service is Todoroki giving as a pro hero that is “awkward but fair”?
Horikoshi: This might be rude, but I am a big fan of a certain professional soccer player and I had that person’s fan service in mind.Like the way he waves is cute, I get the impression he is looking at everyone one by one and waving to them individually, not just casually waving. And when he gives autographs he always looks people in the eyes first. It’s the player Kaoru Mitoma, isn’t he really cool?
Q18: Is Todoroki still an airhead [tennen] as an adult?
Horikoshi: I don’t think airhead is the right way of putting it, but for better or worse he still takes what people say very literally. That part of him hasn’t changed even now.
Popularity poll - Todoroki tidbits:
Hero name ranking: 3rd
Quirk ranking -2nd
Chapter rankings:
Ch 39 Todoroki Shoto: Origin (4th), Ch 390 Todoroki Shoto: Rising (19th)
Title page rankings: 4th (there was only one Shoto-option)
"Casual everyday illustrations are rare, and the expressions are cool and manly. ・The hollow-eyed Shoto really struck a chord with me."
Shoto's global popularity poll result (3rd)
Here is a post about his ultimate moves
Shoto appears in a single panel of the one-shot and is mentioned still as ranked No 2.

I think a fascinating part of Terry’s character is how isolated he was implied to be when he met Claudia. Like, there are a lot of clues as to how separate Terry already was from the Earthblood elves, such as the way that, when they’re hiking through the Drakewood, Terry identifies it as being close to where he grew up, and the first thing he starts talking about his struggles growing up, and the fact that his community didn’t respect his gender identity. This seems to be the only case of a queer character feeling ostracised from his community for his queer identity. Like, the scene is superficially similar to when Astrid comments that “my star was never hidden, even if others couldn’t see it”, it never feels like the Celestial elves rejected her, just that for a while they couldn’t see (pun unintended), and that’s been cleared up now. She has a positive relationship with her people and culture right up until the whole “we have information that could prevent the end of the world but won’t divulge it” thing. Instead we find Terry living in the wilds, and he shows no interest in rejoining his people, unlike how Rayla longs for her homeland during her period of exile. Our brief experience of the Drake Riders also highlights how different Terry is from the peak standard his culture has (I think the Drake Riders are a distinct group among Earth blood elves but still, we can extrapolate), and this further demonstrates how Terry was feeling more and more isolated from his culture and community. And then, he meets, befriends and dates the elf hating human dark mage Claudia
Now, Claudia is also extremely isolated when she meets Terry, albeit in different ways and for quite different reasons: geographically, she is very separate from the community and culture she grew up with by the fact she’s hiding out deep in Xadia with only her father’s corpse and the disembodied spirit of a vengeful Startouch elf speaking through a worm for company, but she’s also isolated ideologically because she’s doggedly hung on to the us vs them tribalism and bigotry that her society, under King Ezran, is actively attempting to move away from. This creates rifts that are difficult to bridge when she reunites with other characters from her past, such as her brother. Now, while we’re not shown Claudia and Terry’s meeting, the social isolation these characters are experiencing is a compelling reason why they might bond to each other in the first place, especially in the reasonably stable period of time that is the timeskip where it is easier for them to focus on the things they have in common, such as their goofy senses of humour and dogged loyalty, and they can support each other through their loneliness. A friend I was discussing this with irl described it like they have “bonded to each other in the place of other community”, which I thought was a great way of wording it
Anyway I just think their whole relationship and the implied ins and outs of why/how they bonded in the first place is really interesting to speculate on and a real highlight of arc2 for me

I always find it strange when people lament that Rayla and Callum don't have much in common (implying they're a bad ship) when, to me, they're one of the most realistic portrayal of friends and lovers I've seen across various genres.
They very clearly enjoy each other's company. They have a similar quirky style of gallows humour. They like teasing each other, and they bounce ideas off each other. They fiercely love and care for their friends and family.
I mean, Callum just randomly starts spouting poetry at her, and does Rayla make fun of him or make him feel weird or self-conscious? Nope. She not only knows what he's talking about, she engages with it.
I suppose on the surface they don't have much in common. Callum loves his books and research, and Rayla’s more action orientated, but once you dig deeper, the foundation of their relationship is built on mutual admiration and respect.
And that is what's important. That's what long-lasting relationships are built on.
Your partner may not have the same taste in books or activities as you, but do they still engage with you about your interests? Do they support you indulging in them or spending time doing them? Do they respect you and your differences?
That love and support is what stands the test of time.

The untapped potential of a Corvus/Rayla friendship or team-up is insane to me
Rayla has made fun of Corvus and teased him but they are pretty similar in a lot of regards
Warriors who grew up in the forest sleeping in the trees, masters of stealth who glide easily through the heavy thickets of woods, and their weapons as versatile being used for both short and long range.
And we know that either Rayla watched Corvus long enough to ‘pick up a thing or two” from his tracking skills or Corvus explained to Rayla how exactly he was able to find them. If you ever find yourself in a battle against them both at the same time might as well make peace now cause even if you escape its only a matter of time until two pairs of eyes are staring at you from up in the trees.
Not to mention Rayla lived very similar to how Corvus probably lived before accepting the position of Crownguard; on the road trying to track and locate an enemy, never really sleeping in a inn or populated areas, getting into scraps for information, etc.
I just think it would’ve been cool we see them interact more

Parallels
When Rayla was eight and fell into a river, faced death for the first time, it was Runaan who dove in and pulled her out.
Eleven years later, when Runaan is cursed, facing worse than death, Rayla dove beneath the water of the Moon Nexus to pull him out.
He saved her life for the very first time, in a river, and she saved his soul from something far worse, beneath their sacred waters.

What would be cool in Arc 3 is if Rayla chooses to be selfish to save Callum (and possible children) and Claudia, to pay them back for not only betraying and manipulating them but also Rayllum repeatedly showing her empathy regardless, in turn does the Selfless thing to save both of them from the Star Council's wrath
Rayla's character journey and growth into becoming a character who is not so self sacrificing and can be selfish. She can want things for herself and doesn't have to be punished for it. That it's ok for her to feel, to love.
Symbolically paralleling with
With Claudia who needs to learn how to be less selfish. Who needs to learn to have empathy, even for beings or people she can't relate to. That she can't force love and people staying with her by doing selfish cruel acts. That not everything is only about her or her pain.

Well Runaan's body was gone, dissipated by magic leaving only his soul to be trapped in a coin, I would assume the same with Aaravos. The key is the quasar diamond
Even with Harrow still being alive, his body still got burnt by Viren/Claudia. Its ashes now! So is like Harrow just forever trapped in the body of a bird? How long will he actually live? Is he able to talk like a human to everyone, or is only Ezran able to talk to him(which makes me really sad because I need Harrow and Callum to talk to each other!). Just I need arc 3. I need to know what happens next because there's so many questions left unanswered.

I want to say that Callum undoubtedly thinks Rayla is so freaking cool, but that isn't all. He makes it clear that he thinks she's awesome without disregarding any of her other traits. Not once when she puts herself down has he said "But you're ___" (at least that I remember, with the exception of Midnight Desert, which I could argue fits the rule if I wanted to) and that is EXACTLY what Rayla needs because she's never been the cool kid- she's a prodigy, but not cool (the girl Naruto runs and prefers being alone and/or training to hanging out with other kids, for gods' sake). But she's also never been cared for the way Callum does. He also (probably) knows that only results were cared about for Moonshadow elves, never merely efforts, and he always makes sure to compliment her on not only those, but everything because he doesn't just want to make her feel good, he likes making her smile and reminding her that she's so important. He surpasses needs she didn't know she had.
And Callum would expectedly be told he's awesome at stuff, being a prince and people wanting to gain favor (Soren is the exception. Shoutout to my baby boy), but Rayla has never lied to him about what she thinks of him. She's down to earth and she doesn't build him up to be things he's not, instead making him feel as amazing as he deserves about the things he is good at. And her desire to care for him and protect him doesn't come from a sense of duty the way it does from, say, the Crownguard, but from love that Callum never really got because he was always the one protecting Ezran, was distant with Harrow, and doesn't really remember Sarai. Rayla doesn't care about what he lacks, which is what everyone else seemed to care about. Everything she does for him is fueled by love, never duty.
Just- GODS, they're so perfect for each other WHILE simultaneously learning and growing and giving each other grace and I LOVE THEM OKAY-

She was like if you can't understand how I feel, I will show you. I know she didn't mean to hurt him, but its true, Callum never understood her until he felt the same pain of not knowing. Callum over those two years had absolutely no idea if Rayla was dead or alive, he could just not get over her. She wasn't just his girlfriend but also his best friend
Imagine how horrible Callum must feel about trying to get Rayla to move on in Through the Moon…

…now that it’s been two years, and he hasn’t been able to either.

This was honestly the strongest moment of characterization of Khessa as a leader and character for me
On the surface she was quick to judge and blame humans, she saw them as vermin just as Karim had and overall thought that they should just kill Amaya since she refused to give up any information.
The only reason she didn't was because her little sister with a way too obvious crush pouted the whole time.
But this moment.
"Your people? Do you bring farmers and poets, or do you bring and army?"
The language Viren used was very intentional, the phrase "Allow my people safe passage through Xadia." was meant imply they were harmless.
Its a manipulation tactic Viren uses a lot with his careful choice of wording.
But Khessa knew better, even not seeing the people she knows to asks if there are farmers and poets, Agriculture and the Arts, boons of trade. These are people who would actually open up channels for communicate, channels for an agreement, treaties, or truces.
Its mostly a rhetorical question of course because she already knows but she makes a point to catch Viren in his own half truth and point out what she would've maybe allowed to leave unharmed.
There's no way of knowing for sure of course but by way Khessa was willing to give even Viren a chance makes me think perhaps Amaya had shifted her view more than she let on.
When Janai first came to her she told her to dispose of Amaya almost imminently, then when she first ordered for Amaya to be judged by the light she gave no commands and no words. Just allowed the scene to play it, it was Janai who rushed to Amaya's side to tell her what was going on.
But when she had Viren be judged by the light this time she actually yelled out the instructions to look into the light. Even after he made a very clear threat to her and her kingdom.
It almost feels like she was on the cusp of change especially if she could see how Janai had truly sensed something good with the human she captured and how even light declared her innocence.
