Consent is everything. It is your right to change your mind and your right to draw the line. No one has any right over your body or your choices but you. Compassion for others means compassion for self too. Give yourself love, charity and kindness. Self-care is not selfish, but a responsible thing to do. You cannot care for others without caring for yourself first. Whenever I stray from this: get angry at myself, disappointed or stop taking care of myself, I ask: would I treat my dog like this? Would I let him feel this way without comfort? If the answer is no, then I shouldn't be letting myself feel like this. #compassion #selfcare #kindness #selflove #love #charity #kind #dog #pet #mid20musings #fuckstigma #mentalhealth #believeinyourself #ibelieveinyou #ibelieveinme #youcandoit #believe

Every experience is a new experience. Try not to let past experiences and prejudices determine the outcome of new opportunities.

Apologies
I've always wondered why when people screw up, they don't just apologise. Instead there are justifications, excuses and reasons why things happened the way they did. I wonder if people realise how a simple, "I'm sorry, I fucked up. Let me try and make it right," would cause less pain and end fights a lot quicker than any well thought out excuse. People seemed so scared of apologies, like it will make them weak and destroy their pride; if anything, apologising and admitting you screwed up makes you strong. Nikki's words of wisdom: next time, just say you are sorry instead of finding an elaborate excuse that rids you of blame.
