"1985, Paris— first tape, interview with the vampire Noé Archiviste." Dante spoke into a small recorder. He sat, legs spread casually on a cheap sofa inside of an equally cheap hotel room. Sitting across from him, separated by a tiny coffee table and with his hands clasped over his knees, was a young-looking man with snow-white hair. Despite his dark complexion, his nails were pale and glass-like, sharpened just slightly at the tip. Most perplexing were his eyes — they were a semi-transparent violet, like a pair of stained glass windows lit by a faint candle from behind. He was smiling, and after his introduction, leaned in to speak into the recorder. "That would be me, I am the vampire Noé Archiviste."
