Hot apple cider, magickal woman style. 🍎❤️
Some kitchen witchery for you guys tonight! This is what I use to make hot apple cider. It is my FAVOURITE autumn/winter drink and it’s perfect for any meals you make for Mabon. Super uplifting and comforting! I will list ingredients and their magickal benefits here.
Pure unpasteurized apple cider - you can make this yourself but I just buy it from a local family owned apple orchard that I love supporting.
Whole Allspice - Allspice is associated with the fire element so it is physically warming as well as mentally uplifting and healing.
Cinnamon sticks/ground - Cinnamon is also associated with the fire element. Warming, uplifting, healing, promotes love. It is also known to enhance the male libido (😉)
Nutmeg - Increases clairvoyance, and clear sight. If a beverage with nutmeg is shared between you and another person, it encourages romantic love.
Apples are associated with love, fertility, marriage, and beauty. Oranges are said to bring joy. Coincidentally all of the spices I have in this recipe are great for money and love spells as well! 😊
🍎1L unpasteurized pure apple cider Put in pot, on low heat on the stove 🍎Cut a medium orange into slices and put slices into the cider 🍎If using cinnamon sticks, you can just read put these right into the cider. If using ground, put the cinnamon, nutmeg and whole allspice into a tea bag or infuser and put into cider 🍎Leave on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally and serve!
Not only is this super delicious but it makes your house smell AMAZING!
Enjoy friends, blessings❤️🍎

Mabon spell
🍃During September, collect some fallen tree leaves and write them down your wishes for the rest of the year.
🍂Do you promise yourself to study harder?
🍂Do you want to start exercising?
🍂Do you want to sign up to new courses?
🍂Maybe develop some skills?
(Use a black-ink pen to write on your leaves, you can also write sigils) Keep your leaves on your altar or on your bedside table, if you are a secret witch.
🍁Then, during the Mabon night, burn your leaves to release the energy of your wish. If the leaves can’t be burn, then bury them outside. 🍁

🍂Apple Walnut Cake - Mabon🍂
Tumblr media
Hello, my greenies! I have a cake that I love to bake for Mabon. It is my grandmothers recipe, but I’ve added some of my witchy goodness and my own touches in it too. I’m so excited for this and have gotten a new dress for this holiday too! I hope you all have a great time and if you make this, don’t hesitate to tell me!
Ingredients
2 cups of flour
½ cup of buttermilk
1 cup of brown sugar
½ cup of sugar
½ stick of butter, softened
1 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
around 1 tbsp on cinnamon (2 ½ tbsps = 1 tbsp)
2 medium apples (peeled & diced) - NOT minced or shredded!
½ cup of chopped walnuts
Crisco
Directions
Preheat the oven for 350°F
Mix flour and baking soda in a separate bowl.
Mix milk, brown sugar, eggs, butter, and half the cinnamon together.
Then, sift the dry ingredients into the wet ones, put in vanilla, and mix in both the apples and walnuts.
Cover a 9 inch pan in crisco and put mix into it.
In a separate bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Blanket the top with the cinnamon sugar mix.
Bake for about 40-45 minutes.
After I place it in the oven, I say a little chant and prayer.
“Oh earth and wind and water, I am but your body. Heal and protect me from harm. Give my family, my friends, and myself your gifts and your strength.”
I also play my Mabon playlist (lol) while I bake and do some ritual dancing. It’s a really fun time and once the cake is done, I usually pair it with a cider. It might smell good, but definitely let it cool, at least slightly.
If you are planning to serve at a party, I think it would be cute to make a little flower out of apple slices and place in the middle. This is just my thoughts though!
I really hope you all like it and have a happy Mabon!
- Kenzie
*sometimes I decide to roast the walnuts for about 1 minute in a pan before I mix them in, this is just a little extra thing I do if I have time/want to do that*

Mabon Cake recipe
Following the great response to the Mabon stew recipe I posted I thought I’d add another for a lovely but simple cake recipe that you can serve as a pudding after your hearty stew!
Ingredients (for cake) ~
Half to 1 cup of sugar (6-12 oz) - substitute of honey
1 cup of softened butter (12 oz) - add/subtract as wanted
3 eggs
3 cups of flour
2 peeled and grated apples
2-3 tsp of vanilla essence
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of baking soda
Ingredients (for cake topping) ~
Half cup of softened butter
Small cup of milk
1 cup of dark brown sugar
2-3 tsp of vanilla essence
Cooking (for cake) ~
Turn on oven to 180C/350F/GasNo.4
Beat the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until mixed well and smooth
Add eggs one at a time and whisk in
Add baking soda, salt and vanilla, mix in
Sieve in the flour and mix well
Peel and grate the apples (if you do this too early the apples can start going brown and lose their freshness), then add to the mixing bowl
Pour mixture into a cake tin (around 9x13) greased with butter. Pop into the oven.
Check every 20-30 minutes (you know your ovens) and bake until golden
Cooking (for topping) ~
In the last 5-10 minutes while cake is baking, melt butter and sugar together in a saucepan
Mix in milk (optional) and bring to the boil
Remove from heat and add vanilla.
When the cake is taken out of the oven, poke holes in the top (i.e. with a fork) and drizzle the topping over the cake
Slice and serve!
Happy Mabon everyone! Blessed be )O(

Mabon Stew
This is a little recipe guide for a hearty Mabon stew to make for the upcoming harvest sabbat - tried it myself last year and it was really lovely so I’m definitely going to be making it again soon!
Ingredients ~
olive oil/vegetable oil
garlic
1 small onion
beef chunks (500-680 grams)
beef stock
2 carrots
2 medium potatoes
sweetcorn
½ tin of baked beans
2 tbsp of flour
4 tbsp of water
salt+pepper
Serves 4-6 and feel free to adjust ingredients as you like :)
Cooking ~
Pour the oil into the saucepan, allow a few moments for it to heat and cover the whole pan.
Add the beef to brown on a medium heat. While the beef is browning, add the tbsps of flour and water. Mix in well with the beef.
Chop and add the onion and garlic. Stir well until the beef is fully browned and the onion has cooked.
While the beef, onions and garlic are cooking, prepare the beef stock. Boil 500-750 ml (2-3 cups) of water and mix with the beef stock cube. Add the stock to the pan, stir in, and bring to the boil, then reduce heat to simmer for an hour.
Then peel and chop the carrots and potatoes to desired size. Add them and the baked beans to the pan; simmer until the vegetables are soft.
Add the sweetcorn, salt and pepper (as much as desired); stir in for a couple of minutes.
Serve! Pairs nicely with warm bread :)
Hope you all have a lovely Mabon and be sure to let me know if you tried and liked this recipe!
BONUS ~ here is a link to a Mabon cake recipe for you to add for pudding!

Hello!
I am a new witch trying to learn all I can, and this seems like a really good starting point for gleaning practical knowledge from the experiences of others.
About me: Aquarius sun, Sagittarius moon, Leo rising. I have Bipolar II and generalized anxiety disorder. I practice Buddhism as a spiritual practice, not a religion. I live with my husband and our two cats and two dogs. We intend to grow and preserve our own vegetables next year and are very excited about that. We recycle and try to be as eco-friendly as possible. Besides witchcraft, I also do yoga, make candles, paint, and draw. I love to help people and am a strong advocate for unrelenting kindness.
I am interested in herbs and plants, crystals, moon phases and astrology, kitchen magic and hedge witchery, meditation, tarot, scrying, divination, traditional spellwork, and witchy aesthetics!
I will follow any and all positive witchy blogs! Also Buddhist, eco-conscious, art, positivity, etc. Nice to meet you!

Reblog if you could use a little good luck to start your fall - this spell is for you: a white candle for purification, some dried orange peel and senna leaf for luck and magic, and the cutest little acorn I could find :)
