Frog Circus, Act One.

A peculiar looking frog appears on the stage, sitting ever so inconspicuously on his jester hat lilly pad. Flies buzz around, oblivious of what’s to come. Then, as if possessed by an uncontrollable force a flurry of scarves unfurls from his mouth revealing his endless scarf trick! Sometimes you feel unseen, alone, or like you’re parenting wrong. And while I don’t speak on my motherhood journey often, this. This made me feel seen.

Idk what it is you guys, but I freakin love these hats and these little dolls

I know @oddarette ‘s miyc challenge has already ended but I could not resist crocheting my witch a few more outfits to match some of the other hat designs.

Starting with strawberry. My thought was garden fairy with a skirt made of leaves.

Next, watermelon. A beach day outfit, with a pink swim suit under a green mesh dress like the inside/ outside of a watermelon.

Lastly, carrots. Autumn time garden outfit.

Ugh. Maybe I’m in a bad mood (I am) but this book SUCKED!

Let me be honest. “The first one” is so unoriginal. I hate when authors lazy name monsters. If you are going to have a monster put some heart into it. I DID love the concept of freezing time, only having things made in 1994 or later, to confuse the monster. Smart. But let’s talk more dumb.

I’m going to word vomit so probably spoilers ahead.

Characters

Willow - a dumb grieving mom. But I can’t blame her, she’s a mom, I’m a mom, I get it. But she threw her whole life away to chase a ghost, and that’s really sad.

Harper - he was a blip in this dumb story. Why was he even there? Just to complain about how he was a bad brother, what did you add to my story?

Lily - blow it up. Fuck the man you A Typical rebel character. You are so cliche it’s hard not to hate you.

The cooky townspeople - I liked them. I am a simple mind folk, and could just as easily be one of these grieving individuals.

The dead eleven are not mentioned until about 75% into the book, and it kinda comes from no where, especially when that’s the name of the book, i expected that much sooner. I still can not tell you what the zombies and the one demon all have in common. How this demon projects as zombies, is it a zombie, why does it have such a stupid name, and why does it live in the basement of a house? Not a cave? How is it asleep and unaware of time moving, but yet it is awake enough to project zombies? Why did this island suddenly become a cult 80% through? The cult of stupid. I hated this book. DON’T READ IT. It’s so dumb. So dumb.

Late and lazy recap post.

What an unmemorable month. I gave almost everything a 2 star rating with the exception of what you see above.

I only DNF’d one book, that was Dinner with Vampires by what’s her face from one tree hill. Honestly, I’m not much into judging someone’s experience, but i got 30% into that audiobook, and all she did was repeat sermons almost verbatim. It’s like she still believed the teachings, just not the teachers. I’m sure if I listened more, we would have seen the full picture, but I just can’t do religious trauma anymore. I feel I’ve gotten a good share and for the moment it’s not what I’m looking for in my memoirs.

I will always chase the fear a ghost ship holds on me. And Darcy Coates is slowly sliding into my favorite author slot, I will try and finish the graveyard series this month. But I’ll be honest. I’m what i would call a cliffhanger reader. I hardly ever finish a series. Just ask Shadow and Bone.

My cat is still missing. And I’m so depressed. I haven’t found joy in reading. I’m just kinda going with the flow, hoping I’ll forget my misery, not really immersing myself in the books. I’m pathetic. But at least I’m honest.
