^^^ This is so true! People find it sweet and cute when Wilbur or Dream infodump or get extremely hype about something and then will bash Karl for these same traits like... I understand if Karl isn’t your cup of tea but please realize how rude it is to bash and hate on Karl for the things he does naturally while romanticizing/infantilizing other content creators who behave in a similar fashion.

Personally I adore Karl, and I relate a lot to him- I too accidentally talk over people and end up infodumping or rambling because I get excited. I can be too loud and not socially aware and too clingy just by nature and my entire life I’ve felt like shit because of this, because others routinely put me down and act as if I’m purposefully trying to bother them or be disruptive.

So seeing Karl Jacobs exhibiting similar traits so unapologetically makes me feel more comfortable in myself and seeing the positive reactions he gets from others helps make me feel less strange and alone in my behaviors.

Seeing people just tear him down and stuff for these mannerisms which he obviously cannot really help (he isn’t trying to talk over people, he isn’t purposefully doing these “annoying” behaviors) is just repulsive. I thought we all agreed cringe culture was dead and bullying people for things outside their control was wrong.

I think a lot of it boils down to the fact that Karl Jacobs neurodivergent tendencies tend to come out in more energetic, noticeable ways alongside the fact he doesn’t attempt to hide or minimize these things. Whereas other content creators neurodivergent traits are a bit less in your face and the content creators try to mask these traits a bit more.

people on my dash romanticizing wilbur infodumping and having autistic tendencies…these are the same people who bash karl for “talking over people” or “speaking out of turn” or not understanding social cues…

Okay lemme gush about Badboyhalo a little bit because his streams have genuinely helped me so much 💜

Like blah blah para-social relationships blah blah go touch grass blah blah how can some streamer affect your life blah blah... all that bullshit is stupid. Lemme ramble about him cause Badboyhalo has done SO much to make my life better.

I was stuck in a toxic relationhip with a toxic partner- unhappy and broken down to an extreme degree but I felt unable to leave because well “it could’ve been worse” or “she would eventually change” and one day during BBH’s stream he received a dono asking about unhealthy relationships and he gave some excellent advice.

I remember just sitting there, actually crying because his advice hit me straight to the core- essentially “if the person you are with makes you feel anything less than amazing, if they do not try you as you want to be treated, if them being with you makes you feel consistently bad then you have every right to leave them. You deserve someone who treats you well” and I literally started crying because hearing that from someone just soldified it in my head. And the next day I broke up with her and my life has drastically improved.

Every time I have a bad day I watch Badboyhalo’s content and I immediately smile 💜 and his general advice he gives to the world and to those who watch his streams makes me smile :)))

His desire to spread kindness and understanding is admirable and as someone who is incredibly empathetic and will cry just by seeing people be rude to one another- seeing BBH using his platform to spread good messages and encourage understanding makes me beyond happy.

BBH is legit so underrated and I hope more people support him and take his advice- he’s amazing and I hope he understands the impact he has on those who watch him 💜

I AM KING GAY!!!!

So in 9th grade I (an awkward bi “cis girl”) joined my school’s GSA under the leadership of a trans bi guy who was a senior (Clark). Clark was always a very sweet, accepting, and generally cool guy who served as like an older brother figure to me a lot in my Freshman year. I honestly looked up to him a lot and dreamed of the day I could be like him.

And today I realized- I finally got there 💜

I’m a bisexual who recently came out as a trans guy who has led my school’s GSA for two years! Our ranks have expanded to an average of fifteen or so per meeting and we have a ton of fun and informational meetings. This is all well and good but today a 6th grader I know (we met via the school play that I played a major tech role in) hit me up on discord because they had something to tell me.

I was like “oh sure yeah tell me anything Im here if you need” cause I try my best to offer support and advice to those around me (especially when it comes to LGBT and mental health stuff) and the 6th grader comes out to me as pansexual! Apparently they just wanted to get this off their chest and since they knew I’m out and very accepting they wanted to tell me first 💜 Like- my heart is genuinely so full right now and it makes me wanna cry to know that other people see me like I saw Clark- as a kind brotherly figure who’s here to help 🥺

Like this is just a ramble but like- coming from the depressed teen “girl” with a shit home life and a toxic girlfriend who honestly couldn’t conceive of being a senior in highschool to being a senior in highschool, publically out and recognized as a male by others, accepted into his dream school, and seen as a kind figure for others I just- it really makes me happy 🥺

I’ve just noticed when it comes to people criticizing the fandom they routinely point out the usage of the term anti by the fans in discussion and arguments with people who dislike the fandom and content creators.

If you see a Tik Tok with someone making a Minecraft Enderman joke or see a streamer playing with Karl Jacobs please do not spam their comments/chat talking about the Dream SMP or streamers unless explicitly told you can. It’s incredibly rude to the people who make the content and can be annoying to others in the comment sections and chats.

Things You Shouldn’t Say on Twitch - Dono Addition

[Because apparently some people still can’t behave and follow basic Twitch etiquette. Feel free to reblog this as much as you want and add on to this list.]

1. Sexual Comments: Comments calling the streamer daddy, sexy, asking them to rail you, saying you’d want them to kidnap you or do things to you, sexual comments regarding them, their friends, or whoever they are streaming with. Especially if they are a minor or you are a minor. These are real people who are at the end of the day a complete stranger to you so don’t send them weird sexual shit. If you wouldn’t say it to a stranger at the mall- don’t say it in chat or donate it to the streamer.

2. Venting/Trauma: Streamers are not therapists! They are simply young adults (and sometimes minors) trying to entertain. If you need to vent please seek proper help but do not go venting in a dono to a streamer. They are not qualified and it makes them and others watching uncomfortable. Avoid topics such as drug use, intense alcohol use, real life death, self harm, EDs, and especially suicide.

3. Donos Asking Other Streamers Things: If you are watching a stream where the streamer is with a friend do not send in donos asking said streamer to say something or ask something of their friend. I understand if Sapnap is streaming with Quackity you may wanna tell Quackity hello but it is very rude to demand that of Sapnap who is the streamer you are actively watching.

4. Questions Involving Deeply Personal Things: Donos asking a streamer about their sexuality - assuming said streamer has said they are straight or generally not discussed it - questions about their family, love life, or other questions that you would not ask someone you met on the street. Especially avoid questions involving their love life unless the streamer has made it clear they allow it.

5. Disclosing Personal Info: Please do not put your discord info, your Instagram, Snapchat, or other major personal information in a dono to a creator in hopes they will contact you. They are streaming live for thousands or tens of thousands of people and you don’t know who may see this information. Please keep yourself safe.

General Pro Tip

IF YOU WOULD NOT SAY IT TO A STRANGER YOU MET IN THE MALL- DO NOT SAY IT OR DONO IT TO A STREAMER.

My Problem with the Term “Antis”

Yo Dream SMP fans... I know the tendency is to call people who dislike, hate, or otherwise trash on the Dream SMP (and specifically Dream) “antis” but I really think that shouldn’t be the case.

All I’ve seen is that makes people who dislike the fandom dislike it even more- as it feels to them like we (as a fandom) are cult-like, unable to accept outside opinions, and generally immature.

I simply think using “anti” to describe people who dislike/hate the fandom and Dream isn’t wise and I hope people just learn to use it less.

Edit: People have kindly pointed out how it’s not a malicious term or anything and refers specifically to people who are violently and irrationally against Dream and the Dream SMP and I recognize that! Like I understand the usage of the term anti- I just noticed people outside the fandom do not understand how we use the term ‘anti’ and thus draw negative conclusions (or use the term anti to back up their negative conclusions) about all of us based off a singular term. I have no ill will to anyway who uses, has used, or continues to use the term anti!

Also general reminder: Don’t dox, threaten, send death threats, or harass anyone for their opinions or behavior. If someone dislikes the Dream SMP or is a dick about Dream don’t do anything stupid! Just ignore and move on.

My toxic ex-girlfriend was obsessed with Sapnap and the Dream SMP to a weird, creepy way... I thus disliked the Dream SMP quite a lot and would look up Wilbur Soot videos just to jokingly mock them with my friends (mainly me mocking his accent and my gfs unhealthy fawning of him)...

This turned into me watching his “I’m In Love with a E-girl” music video and looping it because I genuinely enjoyed it and after a few weeks of this I finally decided to actually watch his normal videos... then I watched Tommyinnit... then I joined his stream during a stream with Mexican Dream and nearly lost my mind but came back to a different stream and bam- I accidentally became obsessed and a big fan.

My friend and I went to the store today and as we were aimlessly wandering the aisles I saw a box of Creeper Crunch Minecraft Cereal! In my excitement at the Ranboo adjacent food item I stopped in my tracks and ran over to grab the box from the shelf, yelling, “OH MY GOOD CREEPER CRUNCH MINECRAFT!” As I went to show it to my friend.

This is all well and good except a middle aged woman was in the same aisle and after I ran back to my friend with the same excitment a young child has on Christmas the woman was like, “Wow you really like Minecraft huh?” with an amused smile.

And I realized that I, an 18 year old young man dressed in all black and a lime green shirt with eyeliner and a beanie, had yelled in excitement at seeing a box of Creeper Crunch cereal in a public store so loudly that I startled a woman who was just trying to shop.

My Example:

Always keep in mind that most topics of discourse and strife you see are extremely short term! This major piece of discourse within your fandom will eventually fade so please do not let yourself become absorbed with it and let it negatively impact your mental health or emotional state.

This is easier said then done of course but if you find yourself extremely sad or angry over the discourse or comments you see just log out. Just close the tab. Simply hop out of twitter and listen to some jams. Even if you keep thinking about it just take a breather until you no longer feel sucked into the drama.
