The 'theory' of "Alpha males" that you think you subscribe to? Yeah, it's a disproven theory that was misinterpreted in the first fucking place and you can all get FUCKED for thinking you're at all valid for claiming that title. Others have explained the science better than I, and just by claiming "Alpha" to justify the absolutely vile behavior you've proven you could give two shits about science or intellectual anything or human achievement or progress or culture or ANYTHING THAT'S HUMAN YOU HORRID, SUB-HUMAN PIECES OF WALKING SHIT! A true Alpha in the miscecanis sense is the Ultimate Caregiver. Defined by more than biology, the Alpha's role in the relationship is to provide a safe and secure place for their mate(s) and to be selflessly loving and kind. This requires that the omega (or beta, I'm not judging. Two Alphas could be in a relationship too, though that gets tricky as you're dealing with, essentially, two tigers in a bag) feel as though you are the very foundation of their world and that foundation is as solid as pure granite but inviting as a squishmallow nest. That means you're more an engineer than a commander. You're more a facilitator than a leader. You're not some fucked up piece of shit who thinks that the tackle between your legs means you're superior to the person you're presuming to stick that tackle in.

Any true Alpha would take one look at you and say, "Oh, hun, it's okay, we understand that you think that's how Alphas work. Don't worry, your Alpha will be along soon and take you away from all the big scary Alphas that you wandered into the middle of." You're a spitting, hissing kitten. Another omega or a beta might be fooled, but a true Alpha will take one look at you and see right through the act. And every single one of them could take you down without breaking a sweat, but they won't because they don't want to be a bully.

And on the outside, the remote possibility that you did happen to be an actual Alpha, you'd be one of those toxic Alphas the omega's birthing person warned them about. You'd be the reason for the #YesAllAlphas hashtag. You'd be the reason omegas carried cans of pepper spray on their keychain at all times. You'd be the reason yet another challenge fight resulted in an "accidental" death after the rest of the Alphas in the area got sick of your shit and arranged for all the cell phones and security cameras to be conveniently off or broken.

I haven't seen the Barbie movie yet, but based on what I've seen from the spoiler-tastic reviews and memes and GIF-sets, here's what I'm betting a true Alpha would say:

"Wow, that Barbie's gotta be an Alpha, look at how she just owns the space around her."

"Yup, she's commanding and every one of those omegas around her are following her orders. Wonder how many of them she's marked?"

Yes I don't just dislike the word "Misceverse", I despise it.

The way people use my term and its natural branchings annoys me to no end.

I created the term/terms for miscefolk (and to a certain degree alterhumans I suppose) to have something to identify under, not so people could treat it as just another fictional equivalent to omegaverse. People use the terms nearly interchangeably nowadays. Or worse they use it as a weird "misce + random fictional character/mythological creature" combination.

The misuse and bastardisations of my flag is also something that annoys me, but something I won't get into detail right now, but I think it's worth mentioning.

Im *my opinion* Misceverse is not an appropriate word to be used by any actual miscefolk person. I get into more detail as to why in this post right here.

Also just to be clear: Yes I'm aware that the nature of creation is that we have no control over what people do with our creation once it's set free into the world, especially on the internet. I certainly don't have the power neither the authority to make people stop using it if they so wish, nor do I want to have such things. I'm merely expressing my point of view and opinion on the matter since I was asked about it.

I've been sick for the past four days.

And it just makes me so angry, the realisation of how much of my day and my energy I spend in a job I do not care about and in a college I don't see a future in.

I have a single day of rest in the week and I work irregular hours. I'm tired.

All the things I enjoy doing, they're in my home, not outside of it. And maintaining my job to a bearable degree of acceptance is equally as tiring.

I hate having to wake up at the crack of dawn in order to eat something slightly healthy and in order to take the bus every day and hope not to get late. And if I sleep even 10 minutes more I either can't eat or can't make it there in time.

I hate having to cook batches of food to freeze so I can eat later in the week some semblance of a healthy food.

I hate that everyone in my job is unhappy all the time because the management in inept and the owner doesn't know what they're doing. The atmosphere sucks and I already go to work dreading all the problems and complicated situations I'll have to deal with and fix because half the team is incompetent.

I hate the entitled, dishonest, ill mannered customers that come to yell at me over things that are neither my responsibility nor within my control to change.

I am tired of being away from my house.

I want to work from home, but I don't have any skills that affords me that. I don't have a fancy degree I can wave around and say that it actually earns me anything. Heck, the college I'm doing right now is for graphic design, and I'm terrible at it!!!

I just wanted something, anything, to do from home. But I don't even know where to start to look. I don't know anything about this world or how to take advantage of it, because the people that were in charge of teaching me simply didn't. They just hoped I'd figure it out as I went along. Well I'm not that smart! So I fucking didn't!

All I have is a second language that everyone else has, no skills, no degree, an unstable mental health and a world of frustration.

And I'm just so tired.

OP, you're not the only person who feels this way. Believe me. Perhaps you haven't seen much about it cause the "omegaverse" tag is mainly reserved for the fictional aspects of it. But you'll find plenty of people in the Misce community tags (aka: Miscecanis, Miscelupus, Misceanimalis, Miscevulpe, Miscefelis, Miscelapin, etc.) who feel just like you.

Maybe you should check those out. Perhaps you'll find other people to whom you can interact with and be perceived as an Omega first and an afab person second (if at all, in some cases). I myself have a discord server packed full of Misce people, I'm sure that if there is not your cup of tea, there's plenty of other communities and misce spaces you can feel at home in and like you belong.

The A/B/O community has afforded me and other Misce people the identity validation we desperately needed. For me it was mainly about being an Alpha. Of course I'm "overly assertive and unyielding for an AFAB person", I'm an Alpha. Of course I'd hate to have biological children who come from my own body, I'm an Alpha. Of course I'm not going to submit and roll belly up for nobody, I'm an Alpha.

See what I mean?

I'm telling you that you are or aren't Misce, OP. Or that it would even be beneficial to you if you were part of the community. But if you ever feel like hanging out with people like that, you're always more than welcome!

Quick rant- one thing in Omegaverse discourse that I haven’t seen much of, if anything, is how affirming that it can be for transgender folks. Omegaverse, in the way that it is most commonly written, makes me as an AFAB person much more comfortable in my own skin.

As an AFAB person who enjoys penetration and being submissive, I find great comfort in characters who are unquestionably male to all of society having more ambiguous genitalia and the ability to become pregnant. Furthermore, these characters’ bodies can be extremely and irresistibly desirable.

My own body and desires often feel at odds to what I want them to be, but omegaverse content makes me think that maybe I’m not so wrong and mixed up. And I imagine I’m not the only person who feels this way.

Nah I think the explanation you gave is pretty good.

For anyone curious, I'll try to elucidate further. When I and @spaceyomega created the term Miscecanis (and to a lesser extent miscelupus) originally it was something meant for people that had an "Omegaverse lifestyle".

At first it was more just people that performed as their chosen dynamics as a form of self-expression and as you said it, finding comfort and happiness in what Omegaverse-aligned behaviour could offer them. But as more and more people flocked towards the term, the more I noticed that it wasn't just people essentially role-playing, but people who genuinely identified as one of the dynamics. Either as a part of their gender identity and expression, their sexuality, or both.

I had countless people approach me and tell me that the term Miscecanis was such a game changer for them, because it offered them a word for something they felt even before knowing about it, and by extension offered them a community too.

It's not to say there's no relation to therians or otherkin, because there is an overlap. I see it on my omegaverse server, there's both non-humans and humans identifying Misce individuals. So to some it is about the more "inhuman" aspect of it, but not to all.

A lot of people gravitate towards it in order to alleviate body dysmorphia or gender dysphoria. It helps some people to come to terms with parts of themselves they maybe can't or don't wish to change.

I'd argue against the "non-spiritual" aspect tho. Cause I think it can offer some sort of spiritual tie. Maybe that's not the correct word, but I lack a more appropriate one right now. I don't pretend to be an Alpha, I am an Alpha. Always have been even when there was no word for it in my vocabulary. And the connection I feel with my inner Alpha, or "my true self" could be considered borderline spiritual me thinks.

And honestly, to me in particular, is something that has the potential to gain an even bigger meaning in people's lives. I said before that I wish I had a Warren, and while it was in a bit of a shitpost, I meant what I said. I want to live with other Misce people away in the woods/in a piece of land. Caring for our own, nurturing our own community, our own culture, traditions and rituals. To me that's the ideal life. Life in a pack is my true call for happiness.

It's not really a performance or a life-style for majority of Misce people I know and speak to on a daily basis. It's simply who they are.

I write omegaverse stuff but I’ve never been part of the community rly… since I’ve started looking into it on tumblr I’ve seen a lot of stuff about misceanimalis and I just genuinely cannot figure out what it is. Is it like therian/other kin stuff? Something separate?

It's complicated tbh. I'm not super duper into the community like some people are, but I do love watching it.

Basically it falls into kin and therian stuff with behaviors and community interest, but it often lacks the spiritual connection(?) that you see in those communities. They are seperate things.

I view it as an identity like gender or sexuality mixed with role-playing.

So like when I lean into it I'm using scents and thinking about my mate and making my den. I'm doing alpha like things because the identity of alpha makes me feel happy.

I recommend looking through the tags and making some deductions from there. It's a lot of aesthetics and doing things that make you feel happy of comfy that lines up with omegaverse, if that makes sense?

Like furries aren't dogs but they'll act like their characters in suit. But you don't need a suit to act like an alpha, omega or beta. And it's less acting like an anime, though it's sometimes animalistic, hence the name.

It’s not sexual for everyone, to clarify!!

But, keep in mind. The idea of omegaverse as a concept (like, the original concept, when it was used for fanfiction) is mainly an AU concept for porn. So its roots are sexual.

However, just like with kink, it can be as sexual or as nonsexual as a person would like. I know for a fact there are people who have no investment in the sexual side of the community, and that is wonderful! However, for me personally, it’s two equally important sides to the lifestyle for me. I’m an adult moving past several traumatic sexual experiences, so for me embracing the sexual side of the community has actually been very helpful.

Sexuality isn’t bad. It’s fine if it’s not your cup of tea, but it isn’t bad, and if you aren’t looking for sexual stuff my best advice is to filter nsft tags (though I know that doesn’t always work, but most people in the community tag their stuff fairly well!).

Tl;dr a community and its terms is what you make of it. If people want to be horny with it, they will be, and you don’t have to play on their side of the sandbox if you don’t want to.
