How does one know if they’re misusing misce or not? I am very curious because I don’t want to do so on accident! I am not sure if I am misce or not because I didn’t know about it until like, two months ago, but I’ve been very interested since while also interested in omegaverse separately too. Any like bullet points that describe ways people could be misusing it or improperly using it to describe omegaverse?

Took me a long time to answer this reply, cause frankly I got rather upset and angry at it at first. (This is @pack-the-pack's side blog btw - I'm replying through this one for the intent of separating my personal life from my main blog more, hope you understand).

The reason I got angry was because OP in their original post asked for the point of view of a-spec people in general. As seen on the screenshot below.

Sure I'm not their follower, but the point stands. Now idk if you are in the a-spec also. But it got me mad because I was talking about my experience, and my feelings, about my identity and my gripes with it. If it sounded like I was trying to speak for every a-spec person, I apologise, as it was not the intention.

The reason I got upset is because your reply frankly just sounds like "I have a best friend I love very much, so clearly that's enough. It's not like we're always going to be the centre of other people's universe. Get over yourself and be grateful for what you have". It sounds insensitive and it sounds dismissive of how I feel abt my own identity (and by proxy anyone with similar feelings), even if you didn't mean to.

Because it might not be enough. It truly might not.

You have a friend that you love and give attention to in (what you believe to be) enough amounts that it keeps them happy and content. I'm genuinely happy to hear that. I hope your friend loves you just as much and feels fulfilled with the way your relationship is. But, that's not a universal experience.

For many a-spec people that's not enough. And no one gets to tell us we should feel like it is. Not even other a-spec people and most definitely not allo people.

Specially cause I said "I too want someone to go home to. I want someone I can hug and cry with. Someone I can watch series with. Cook with on a sunday. Go to walks in the night market. Who I can sing silly songs with. But I have to swallow that desire. Because I know it's not gonna happen" in the original reply.

Your reply sounded like you were trying to dismiss the very notion that someone A-Spec would want anything other than just a friend or friends that come by sometimes and that would be okay with us coming over to their place whenever. And that might be enough, that might be exactly what a lot of, or even the majority of a-spec people want. But there's still the rest, the ones to whom that's simply not enough.

Because at the end of the day, it's not us you'll be coming home to.

It's not us that'll get to go in a hospital room in an emergency, it's not us you'll be speaking to in the dark before bed everyday, it's not us you'll plan your life with and around, it's not us. For allo people, it's not us.

So please, understand that whatever you think is what should make us content, may not be reality. And we don't have to be happy with our situation, we don't have to conform and accept and just resign our desires and our pain because it'd make anyone's conscience lighter. We can be mad and sad and frustrated with the low ass probability that we'll ever have a sufficiently fulfilling and respected platonic relationship. We're allowed that. We're afforded at least that comfort.

I don't want this reply to sound harsh at all. I don't want this reply to sound like I think less of you as a person or that I think you had ill intent. But please, think about it, because whatever works for you and the ones in your life, or even for a lot of a-spec people is not set in stone, it's not a universal thing. And I'd just like people to afford a little bit more sympathy and understanding when people in the aro/ace spectrum talk about their own experiences.

We're already scrutinized, doubted, pathologized, and dismissed enough as it is. So really all I ask for is just an attempt at listening and empathizing when someone tells you that their experience is not what you think it is.

I hope I didn't sound angry or vitriolic. Thank you for your time anyway, and I'm sorry if I hurt you in return in any way.

I have not! In fact I hadn't known this dude existed until you mentioned them. I never got to finish any of the gen 5 games, so that might be why [playing on a small screen like the 3DS gave me rip roaring headaches 😔]. I really like their design!

And yeah I Struggle to find male Omegas a lot. Aside from some people in my server, I rarely see male omegas about. I have lots of alphas and Betas in my dash tho...

And also I meant more so like: Where y'all people hiding in the real world? Like I feel I'm the only misce in my entire city-state-country lol

I'd gladly go around using something like an identifier and shit if other Misce people could like look at it and go "Oh! Another one! Let's talk!", but something that has become painfully obvious to me is that my extroverted (ambivert? Not sure) ass will be suffering the silence of most misce people, even online. Cause a lot of people are just shy or anxious to talk to other people. So even if there are people around me that are misce, the likelihood of me finding out is very low.

And that's not to say shy/anxious people should change and just speak and interact. You do you. You don't wanna talk to nobody, that's fine. Be happy in your own way.

But for my eager to interact and bond personality it just feels sometimes a bit lonely. Just overall, not just when it comes to Omegas. Like I legit miss a pack. I am a highly social person, and feeling like the only misce person in a country with over 200 million people makes me just a tad depressed at times.

I guess I ended up speaking more abt male Omegas specially because that's the type of person I'd most likely go for in the circumstance of a bond. And yeah, a bind is not a pack, but it's good too. But then I realized there's like, zero people I know that'd fit the bill for that also. Thus the original post.

Thank you for the tag! Just a small correction I didn't coin Misceanimalis, though I can see how it can be confusing that I didn't given it's the more obvious and logical extension of miscecanis lol.

I coined only miscecanis and miscelupus due to the original, yet limited, vision we had at the start of the shaping of the community here on tumblr as very canine-centric.

I don't know who coined it, but I just didn't want to take credit for someone else's "coiniege".

That aside, I feel glad that some of my points abt the whole "misceverse" resonate with a few people. I know not everyone agrees with me on this subject, and that's fine. But ultimately I have the community's best interest at heart when I criticise the wording we use around our identities as misce individuals. So I'm glad it transpires as such to some of you 💜.

Housekeeping/Updates

Just completed some blog housekeeping! All tags made on the blog that were not already on the tags list have been added, so do check that out if you feel like it!

Also, all instances of "miseceverse" have been replaced with "miscelife" and "miscemunity" or just plain "misce" based on discussions (with very good points I agree with!) from the coiner of miscecanis/misceanimalis lifestyle @miscealignment and going forward that's what we will refer to it as exclusively (plus the specific animal labels miscelapin, miscecanis, etc., ofc).

In other updates, both Sean's and Nick's intro posts should be up today and I hope y'all are looking forward to having more reference for our special family!

And Mel says she may make a post soon about immersive daydreaming paras vs autonomous soulbonds, so look forward to that too!

how canon do we think warzone is? characterisation things like the takedowns and voice lines?

obviously the takedowns are flashy as hell, that's the point, but things like ghost's "cheers ya slag" and "done and dusted" paint him as so much more arrogant than the campaign suggests

but he is arrogant ("i've seen better" "who?" "me") and we never see him work solo except for the opening scene in mw2 where he chooses to remain danger close to a missile (either just bc or bc he wanted to ensure the kill) so who's to say he doesn't act like that on his own? you even see a hint of it in the camera mission when he shows off to soap and jumps off the building to land on the shadow; what is that if not an arrogant, flashy takedown?

if he's happy to do that in the middle of a stealth mission what else would he do just bc he can?

we know warzone is canon in some respects like the seasonal cutscenes (ala alex's resurrection and "i wasn't in that tank") so at least those are canon but what about everything in between? do specgru and kortac exist in canon? is the 141 part of some greater allied team? (which begs the question why do they never try to contact them when the world is literally on the brink but that’s a very meta, “why didn’t anyone call the avengers in their solo movie?” level of nitpick and we don’t do that here, serious nitpicks only)

do we consider them in character? or is it technically an au? is warzone even made by the same team? would characterisation mean anything to them beyond “does it make the character sound cool?”

even zombies, soap takes on a lot more of a leadership role than we see in the campaign, do we think that's how he acts when he's not with the 141? bc that's a significant shift to go from a leader to a clear subordinate without any chafing or annoyance at getting dropped down the pecking order

then you take skins into account; things like ghost's senpai skin is obviously an au but if he gets new takedowns with it (i haven't played and don't know how it works Imao) do we think main ghost still has that skill set? or is it possible for him to learn it? would he want to?

i think the campaigns are set in stone canon but even that characterisation can be touch and go considering how dirty they did price in mw3 and even how mellow he was in mw2 compared to mw19 and just... everything about the final mw3 mission (and mw3 in general, even shepherd being in the helo when they detain makarov in verdansk is ooc as hell and only exists to serve the narrative)

(characterisation in this aspect is difficult to pin down bc it's hard to tell how much is them writing the character of soap, the character of ghost, and how much is them just writing generic military man 1 and generic military man 2; there's some personality and growth but we have to admit it's thin and subtextual at best. how much of soap's behaviour is bc that's how they wanted soap specifically to react and how much is it bc that's how a military guy would react? (things like being angry about releasing hassan when graves reacts the same way))

so if canon isn't even consistent, can we even trust warzone's characterisation?

(but that's a whole seperate gripe let's stay on track Imao)

do we think it's canon? or is it just battleworld where they can act however the devs want so we spend money on it?
