That the course of the stars: it's not for me
Let me amaze you and and take my flight
We can finally be happy

Will you take me to the galaxy?
(Mayday)
Endless emergency
Here shining in the darkness of the universe
Will you greet me even though I'm a stranger?

I would really love a book organized like this one.

This week I finally sorted out a bookshelf for the piles and piles of books that have been accumulating by the bed 😌

Life Recently - Freelance Writing, Netflix, and Current Reads
Tumblr media

DOING//
Nowadays, I am a bit busy building up this blog, reviving my Twitter account, and signing up for freelance websites for extra income. I am currently accepting writing opportunities (visit my profile at 100jobs - @misseu). I can produce any 500-written output in less than 48 hours. I can do essays, poems, articles, blog contents, reviews, and thesis papers (partial, negotiable). Aside from writing, I can also do data entry, and video editing. So please guys check out my profile, and the price for my services starts at PHP199 (approx. USD $4). And I will deliver beyond what is expected from me, as all of my written works are well-researched, fact-based, and guaranteed.
WATCHING//
Netflix has become my sanctuary during the weekends. What’s great about Netflix is that it has a variety of not just Hollywood movies, but also foreign movies. For this month alone, these were the movies and TV series that I’ve watched:
- Umbrella Academy
- Velvet Buzzsaw
- The Silencer 2
- Sukob (Filipino horror movie)
- My ID is Gangnam Beauty (Korean romantic drama)
- American Psycho
- Nailed It (Mexico)
- The 3% (Brazilian dystopian TV series) - recommended 100%
If you are also a Netflix geek like me, hit me up with your recommendations and I will surely check them out.
READING//
Since I am pretty much ‘busy’ with the weekends, I only have a little under an hour to read something. The thing about me is that I make sure that every single week, I read a chapter of a novel or a screenplay of a movie I love. For this week, I just finished “Goodbye Days” by Jeff Zentner. The book was basically about a teenager and his guilt upon the death of his best friends.
Note: I am planning on making a book review on this in the near future.
So there you have it. Recently, I am basically making myself more productive (but ultimately failed), but hey. I have a blog now, and I am into freelance writing, so that I hope, will work for me.

Perfect Home Workspace - My Checklist
Tumblr media
Realizing that I am about to transition from a full-time employee to a part-time, home-based student, I would need a desk for my work/study space. For daily inspiration, I turn to Pinterest. (Follow me at misseublog). Now that I’m older, my needs are becoming more and more specific and practical. And since I am planning to have my own space, I made a checklist of what I would like for my workspace/desk to be.
1) Natural light is everything.
Tumblr media
It is always better to receive light directly from your open windows rather than getting it from artificial lighting. It saves electricity and it also boosts your energy to be more productive. I feel more relaxed when I don’t get to turn on the lights during daytime. We even have white curtains around the house just to brighten up our space.
2) Wider desk equals more space.
Tumblr media
For a not-so-organized person like me, nothing is more important than to have a wider space for lots of stuff. For my own setup, I would use 2 laptops, plus I would like to put some of my school books and supplies there at the sides. I don’t really wanna work or write or do something in a small space because I am quite a claustrophobic. Even when I was in undergrad, I would choose a wide table when choosing where to sit at a library. For me, the space gives me more freedom to just spread my things without bothering me while working/studying.
3) A little bit of color might not hurt.
Tumblr media
For me, I would like to have hints of colors for my space. Maybe 2-3 color palette is enough, like a white with hints of light pink and gold, if you want a more feminine touch. Or a cool palette; blue or green will do. Even a minimalist hue of grey and black... just any color you would like to have, as long as it doesn’t distract you from working. But I would not advice you to make your work space too colorful, to give you more focus and attention to what you are doing.
4) A little bit of style that dictates your personality.
Tumblr media
If you are too sassy and you wanna make your space a representation of you, then it is completely fine! A touch of fur or some inspirational quotes hanging on the wall can be a great addition to your work space. If you want some flowers or plants at the sides, or even stuffed animals around, as long as it doesn’t stop you from being productive, then why not?
5) Familiarity is the key.
Tumblr media
I would love my work space also to feel like it is me, or it is an extension of me. It feels nice to work in a comfortable setting and to not feel burdened or boxed by your own space. You must feel at home with your space. Make it a part of your house.
At the end of the day, whatever you wanna do with your work space will always be up to you. Same goes for me. A few weeks from now, I will be making my own work space from scratch (with the help of my father), and I am very excited with my outcome. I already have a concept on mind and I want to emulate it as much as possible. Maybe in the future, after the work is done, I would share it to you, my fellow readers. Stay tuned.

Lost cities, what a pity all those years spent building on a love so flimsy, so unreal
Lost cities, what a pity all that time spent on nothing the structures crumble as they yell
till death, till death, till death do we part
till death, till death, till the death of this love

Thoughts: working part-time at home
Tumblr media
Photo by Nick Morrison on Unsplash
Sitting all day in front of your laptop or desktop wasting time sounds like the perfect thing to do. Imagine it be your part-time job. Since I’ll be going back to school this June (refer to my last blog), I decided to sign up for online jobs by setting up a profile and start looking for part-time/freelance jobs. My neighbor recommended online ESL teacher, but it sounds too challenging for me given my social anxiety. I guess I have to use my writing skills (I am not that great yet) or try any data entry jobs.
I currently have a 199jobs account. I offer writing and data entry in a short amount of time for PHP 199. If you are skilled in creative writing, or you have interests in video editing, or even website making, this is the website for you.
I also signed up for OnlineJobs and started applying for jobs there. What’s nice about this website is it offers a variety of jobs which include: Office & Admin (Virtual Assistant), Advertising, Software Development, English, Webmaster, and all other jobs for Filipino people.
Another one is HomeJobs. Same idea and concept with Online Jobs, this website also offers different kinds of jobs for full-time, part-time, or freelance professionals.
Right now, since I am still employed, and will not be anymore as of May 1, so I am still weighing for options of what I really wanted to do to earn income while at home, part-time and studying. This is only temporary for me, because I will be stopping this after I graduate (which is hopefully next year). Please pray for me for my future endeavor as a freelancer here on the Internet.
*fingers crossed*

How do you socialize?
Tumblr media
Photo by Les Anderson on Unsplash
I always have a problem with talking to people personally. It is like every time I talk to someone, my social anxiety kicks in and ruins it for me. I can even count on my fingers how many people I consider as my friend. It is not that I am shy. In fact, if you start an interesting conversation with me, and I am enjoying your company, I can talk for hours on end. I can’t maintain an eye-to-eye contact for more than 5 seconds. I can’t even complete a full sentence when speaking.
I always ask myself, “Is there something wrong with me?”
Per my close friend’s advice, I sought the help of a psychologist. It was nerve-racking, for one, with just the thought that there is a professional, a stranger, whose job is to listen to your problems. The doctor was nice, so I went to see her two more times.
I also read some self-help books I bought from a discount bookstore like “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie. It was a good read, and I would like to recommend it to other people with social anxiety like me.
Right now, I am still in the process of opening myself up to people. It is a series of trials and errors, but at the end of the day, my fear of meeting new people and being in a crowd is a little bit more manageable. But I think it is very important to not be afraid to seek help, no matter how scary it is. Trust me, it was scary for me too.
Read self-help books. Surf the internet and look for self-help blogs. Social anxiety is a serious problem, but at least by knowing and understanding it, you are not just helping yourself, but also helping the people that love you.
