How Donkey Kong Bananza fits into the Mario Canon.
Spoiler For Donkey Kong Bananza, You've Been Warned!
After you beat the final level in of the post game story Pauline talks about how her grandmother would've been proud of her for being able to sing one the stage of the City Hall of New Donk City.
Pauline's Arcade and Lady Dress acknowledge that arcade era Pauline was Blonde instead of brunette like modern Pauline.
I think this implies, modern day Pauline is the granddaughter of Arcade Pauline, like how modern day Donkey Kong is Arcade Donkey Kong/Cranky Kong's grandson/son depending on who you ask.
