🌸 SELF AFFIRMING STATEMENTS 🌸
I might have some faults, but I’m still a good person.
I care about myself and other people.
I accept who I am.
I love myself.
I’m a good person, not a mistake.
I’m good and nobody is perfect.
I embrace both my good and bad qualities.
Today I take responsibility for everything I do and say.
I’m becoming a better person every day.
I’m a sensitive person who experiences the world differently.
Each day I do the best I can.
Even though I forget sometimes, I’m still a good person.
Even though bad things happened to me in the past, I’m still a good person.
Even though I’ve made mistakes in the past, I’m still a good person.
I’m here for a reason.
There’s purpose to my life, even though I might not always see it.
I radically accept myself.

Holidays
Last night I booked my second summer holiday and feel very motivated to be comfortable in a bikini this time. Last year I went on holiday and was only comfortable on the last day and felt I’d wasted my holiday being self conscious of my body and trying to hide it away in a one-piece. However, covering my stomach doesn’t make it disappear. No one looks at me and thinks ‘I bet she’s a size 8 under that one-piece’ so I’m thinking screw it get the bikini on and smile if people look. I want a tan and the only way to do that is to put my big girl pants on and get out there.
Overall I’ve lost 11 pounds since the start of March which is pretty great since I haven’t struggled with my eating or exercise and am still enjoying everything I do. Onwards and upwards!

THE BOILER IS FIXED!!!!
A week of setbacks
Hey guys, I haven’t been active at all recently because the boiler in my flat was getting replaced. We haven’t had heating or hot water for a week so I wasn’t able to exercise and get showered after. The lack of heating has meant my motivation has been so low and we lost the cooker for a day too so my diet has been really awful and unhealthy recently. Hopefully the boiler gets finally fixed today and I can start the week off strong. I’ve actually missed eating healthy and I feel really restless then I want to work out, then I remember about the shower and feel so slow and guilty. Here’s to hoping it gets fixed!

Workouts
I’ve always enjoyed variety and not really been a fan of gyms and using loads of equipment so I started a 14 day free trial of Beachbody On Demand (beachbody.com) and loved how many programmes I had access to. I really enjoyed Insanity, T25, and Clean Week. My free trial ran out yesterday and I can’t afford the full membership just now but I remember some of the moves and just did them to a playlist of workout tunes.
I felt great using the programmes from the comfort of my own home and they have over 600 different workouts to choose from, all with different intensities and durations. I personally liked doing a few shorter ones throughout the day rather than one big workout all at once but there’s so much choice you can chop and change whenever you want.
I haven’t really been tracking my results because I’m genuinely enjoying the workouts and think the ability to do so many programmes has kept me interested and having fun with it. I do feel I’ve lost weight though, and I can manage the longer and more intense classes I was afraid to try in the beginning. They also have eating plans and helpful calendars so once you figure out what workouts you like, you can go along with a plan so you’re held accountable.
If anyone is like me and not too keen on gyms and want to try something different I’d definitely recommend trying the trial period and seeing what you think.

It’s only been a week for me but I already feel like I’ve lost weight on my hips and my stomach, my thighs feel stronger and I’m stretching further than when I started.
I’m still enjoying my meals (salads with tasty homemade sauces or stirfries on top) but I’m struggling with snacks. Since I’m controlling my portion sizes I find I’m hungry in between meals but don’t have many snacks other than a piece of fruit or almonds with grapes. If anyone has any snack ideas they could share that would be really helpful!

My post workout snack is a small handful of almonds, grapes, and cherries with a green tea on the side. Yum!

Salad
I’ve always been a fairly fussy eater. I don’t like fish, spicy food, nuts, or salad. I’m trying to change those last two as I’ve read that nuts are a very healthy source of fat (in moderation) and salads are obviously good for you.
I’ve started with almonds to overcome but aversion to nuts. I find they don’t have a nutty flavour and when paired with raspberries, grapes or other fruit I can quite happily sit and enjoy them as a snack or even as a dessert after dinner.
Salad, on the other hand, is a whole other issue. I’ve tried prepared salads before but always find I don’t like the dressings or half of the veggies in them. Recently I’ve been halving my portions of carbs (pasta, rice, quinoa, etc) and putting salad under my sauce and I find this much more enjoyable. The veggies I really like are broccoli, spinach, lettuce, peppers, asparagus, carrots, and many others. Most of my favourite veggies go pretty well with the sauces and spices I enjoy like paprika, garlic, and tomato passata (homemade).
I hope these little tricks can keep me on track and stop me snacking on unhealthy options, and I hope it helps you somehow.
