ok ok ok: I just ate dinner next to an iPad baby on a cocomelon rampage, but had like an epiphany (?) that these children are not the ones to be mad at. Because this poor baby had some of the most uninterested, flat out awful parents I’ve encountered in public as of late. The crisis we’re having with gen alpha is just a consequence of rebranded neglect. These people don’t give enough shits about their children to actually raise them, so they had them over to the iPad. I guess this is what MEG3N  was about, so it’s not like a new revelation. It just only hit me now since my main analysis of gen alpha has been of how their illiteracy will affect us in the future, not this. But it’s not these babies’ fault their potential has been plundered from them, it’s their parents’. 

This family I sat by yelled at and threatened violence toward their eldest child when they tried to quiet their sibling down. Too many people have children when it’s so damn clear they shouldn’t, and that has doomed too many children. It hurts to watch. If you’re going to bring someone into an actively dying world, the bare minimum you can do is imbue them with the foundations of hope, so maybe one day, they can heal the world instead of contribute to its death.
