its interesting to me how some people frame narutos pursuit of sasuke as more successful than hashiramas pursuit of madara when ultimately neither of them were successful in bringing their respective man back to the village by their own merit. ultimately its the deaths of itachi and izuna that are the deciding factors in their acquiescence to the village (albeit in very different ways)... of course madara is able to see more clearly what will come after he does make that choice. i think what clouds our view is the fact that we want the cycle to be broken when in reality it continues the same as always

The last days of the petition against conversion therapy are FASCINATING to watch. I have been following it pretty closely for almost a year now, and the progress was, above all, steady. There was this jump when some algorithm in Finland picked it up, but even that was local.

And now, everyone is panicking.

Which really shows.

These past three or four days, multiple countries have reached the threshold. Even more notably, the number of signatures in total, the ones that we need to get one million of, are growing rapidly. There are only 400'000 signatures missing. Two days ago, it was closer to 600'000.

Video game which initially appears to be, and is promoted as, a cozy small-town life sim, but after about ninety minutes the town gets firebombed, all of the quirky NPCs you've been building relationship hearts with die, and the mechanics shift completely to a Pathologic style survival sim. If anyone complains to the developer, they simply mildly point out that it was clearly marketed as "Ghibli inspired".
