Hey Guys
So I know I havenât been on in a while, but I need your guysâ help. My friend Sarah and I have been working on a book together for the past year and are just finishing our second draft. We just signed up for this awesome site called BetaBooks, which allows us to post each chapter and have a beta reader come in and help tell us what works and doesnât work. You know, basic Beta work. Unfortunately for us, weâre both broke college students and canât pay for the Pro version and so we need to find our own Betaâs rather then looking on the site itself for Readers who have already signed up. This is where you guys come in.
We need two Beta Readers, as that is all we can have at the moment. But if youâre really interested and the spots are already filled then maybe we can work something out. This is really important, and it would mean so much to me and my friend Sarah if you could help us out. Below, Iâll leave a summery for the story, and if youâre interested then Iâll send you an excerpt upon request. Please, ask questions, or donât, itâs up to you.Â
Signing up for BetaBooks is totally free, so you donât need to worry about that. All you have to do is make a Reader account through the link weâd send you once weâve accepted you as a Reader. Again, if you have any questions, please feel free contact me through the inbox. Thank you for your time! Summery:Â Sari knows her destiny. Â She's a member of the Coalition, a group of Knights devoted to saving humankind from dangerous demonic creatures living on the fringes of human civilization. Â Everything goes wrong when Sari is saved by one of these dangerous monsters, and she's forced to practically sell her soul to the devil with a deadly promise. Â Soon, through a twisted joke of fate, she finds herself working closely with this creature with no idea of his final intentions. Â She knows just one thing. Â Everything she's been taught, everything she thinks she knows may not be what it seems, and some grand enemy lurks over them, threatening to end them all. Â

I really love your new Scamander x reader series! Are you still continuing with it or have you stopped / got bored?
Oh wow, Iâm surprised people still read my work! Itâs heartwarming to know that people still love the fics, especially the Newt Scamander one! That was one I was really proud of. Unfortunately Nonnie life started getting in the way, and it was hard to keep up with all my fics. So I did have to stop writing it and the others as well. But Iâm sure at some point I may start it back up again! Iâm hoping to at least, writing had always been my passion and even though Iâm working on something original at the moment itâs my hope to continue writing fan fiction for a long time to come!
I hope this answers your question dear Nonnie, if you have any more please donât hesitate to ask!

Edit: Auâs and prompts

Hey guys, I know I have been on in a long while, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I am still here and doing well! Life had gotten busy during the summer and unfortunately that took me away from you guys for a bit. And for that I am sorry. As it is, things might still be a bit quiet around here, as I have no requests at the moment and no new story ideas, so if you have a request be sure to send it in! Iâll try and find some new drabble and prompt list/games that might help and weâll see what happens!Â

A Turn in Time Pt. 16
A/n: Hereâs the next part you guys, enjoy!

~
You and Newt stuck to the shadows, whispering out a plan. It was a rather poorly thought out plan, but the situation was dire. The Thunderbird was chained and pinned up, stuffed into a cage so it could barely move. Your heart broke at the sight, but at the same time it burned with anger at the slimy man who kept the creature locked up in the first place.
âAlright, hereâs what weâre going to do. I will go and keep the man distracted while you go and break the Thunderbird out. Once we get that far, we will have to run. Fast.â Newt explained, and you nodded, gripped your wand in anticipation.
âThen letâs go.â The two of you stepped out of the shadows at the same time. Newt veered a bit to the left, heading for the slimy man who âownedâ the Thunderbird while you walked straight ahead. You didnât know how Newt planned on distracting him, but you couldnât think about that. You had to focus on your own task.
Walk with a purpose. You belong here. Nothing suspicious going on at all.
You risked a glance at Newt, and you were pleased to see that he was completely blocking the manâs view of you and the Thunderbird. You raised your wand as inconspicuously as you could.
âAlohomora.â You whispered. The padlock on the cage opened with a click, and you hurried to take it off. The cage door opened silently, and thanked Merlin for that. The Thunderbird lifted his head at your entrance, the chains around his beak and neck clinking together as he moved.
âShhh. Itâs okay. Iâm here to help you.â You murmured, noting that the Thunderbird was growing restless at your presence. You risked a moment to calm the creature down. It would be pointless to be doing this so quietly if the Thunderbird was going to start making a scene. Once he was calmed down, you set to work unlocking the chains around the creature. Those proved to be a bit more challenging. Your âAlohomoraâ bounced off the chains, and you had to duck out of the way to avoid getting hit by the spell. It flew out of the cage before fizzing out somewhere across the street. Your heart was pounding wildly in your chest, and you mind started think of alternative ways to break the chains.
An idea popped into your head, and you acted quickly. You took hold of the chain in one hand, pulling it as far away from the Thunderbird as you could. Taking a steadying breath, you touched the tip of your wand to the chain next to the lock, and whispered your spell.
âDeletrius.â Your eyes widened in surprise and delight as the metal chain your wand had touched started to disintegrate. As soon as the reaction stopped, you started un wrapping the chains from the Thunderbird. You were halfway through when a shout was heard a few feet away. You looked up in a panic, only to find a man pointing in your direction. The owner of the Thunderbird glanced up as well, and before you knew what happened, he was thrown back. You went back to unwrapping the chains, but not before you saw Newt with his wand out. More shouts rang out, but you didnât pay any mind to it. Once the Thunderbird was unwrapped, you stood. Witches and wizards were closing in on the cage, blocking your way out.
â(Y/n)!â Newt yelled, trying to get through to you. You palmed your wand, preparing yourself for what you were about to do. Turning to one of the corners of the cage, you stood between it and the Thunderbird. You raised your wand, pointing it at the metal cage.
âBombarda!â you yelled, and the cage blew apart. The witches and wizards that had been blocking your way flew back and you took your moment. You placed a gentle hand on the side of the Thunderbird and started to run toward Newt who was waving wildly. You reached him in seconds now that the path was clear.
âExcellent work!â Newt said as the two of you started to run back through the market. Spells started to fly your way, and you started to throw spells back at them. You were just about to round a corner when a spell flew past you and hit Newtâs hand and case. He cried out, the case dropping to the ground. In a split second, you stopped and turned, grabbing for the case. When you straightened up, you had to think quick and cast a spell, as the slimy wizard trader was running right for you.
âColloshoo!â You yelled, and the trader stopped so suddenly he fell on his face. You cracked a smile before turning back around and running after Newt and the Thunderbird.
âHurry!â he called, clutching his one hand to his chest. You put on a burst of speed, and Newt opened his arms. You crashed into him, and together you continued the last few feet till you were out of the markets. You put a quick glamor on the Thunderbird until you could put him in the case.
âNow what?â you breathed, sucking in as much air as your lungs would allow.
âNow we make camp outside of the city limits and make a habitat for him in the case.â Newt said, breathing just as hard. You nodded, setting out to find the perfect spot for a camp.
 ~
By the time night came, you had a secluded spot found and the tent set up. You gently led the Thunderbird into the tent while Newt set up his case.
âOne of the latches is busted. Must have been from that spell.â Newt told you. You left the Thunderbird to get itâs bearings with the new environment and walked over to Newt.
âLet me see you hand.â He gave you a look before placing his injured hand in yours. It was raw and red, almost burned.
âWhat spell did they use?â you wondered. Newt shrugged his shoulders. You grabbed some medical supplies from the case. When you were done, Newtâs hand was bandaged and ready for use. He led you down into the case, and you watched as he created the perfect habitat for the Thunderbird.
Bursts of magic erupted from Newtâs wand and before your eyes, there was a new space just outside of the hut, ready for use. Another burst of magic and sand swirled around in the air in beautiful spirals. It settled in the new space. Next was rocky perch for the creature. The sand started to bubble, reminding you of potions class. Slowly the bubbling sand started to grow, and in the blink of an eye there was a rock formation perfect for the Thunderbird. Cacti popped out of the ground, and then Newt turned to you.
âItâs ready.â He said. All you could do was stare at him in awe. The magical ability he must have to create something like that was astounding. You grinned at him, chest bursting with pride. You walked over to him, wrapping him up in your arms.
âThat was amazing.â You whispered into his chest, hugging him with everything that you had. He pulled you closer, kissing the top of your head.
âThank you.â He said back. You stood like that for a moment, before pulling away.
âWe should bring the Thunderbird down. Let him see his new home.â You say, and Newt nods. When you emerged from the case, you saw that the Thunderbird was standing where you had left it, though much more relaxed than before. Â You let Newt walk up to the creature, electing to stay by the case.
You watched as the Thunderbird eyed Newt wearily for a moment, before letting him stroke his side. The look of awe on Newtâs face was plain to see, and you were certain you looked the same. This was the first time that either of you had seen a Thunderbird, as they were native to Arizona in the United States. You couldnât wait to get the chance to draw the beautiful creature.
Once Newt knew that the Thunderbird was comfortable, he started leading him to the case. He moved with little suggestion, following Newt. You followed them into the case after them, closing it behind you. When the Thunderbird saw the habitat Newt had made for him, you could see a brief spark of recognition. The creature hesitant walked up into the habitat, sniffing at the sand before stretching itâs six wings and leaping up to the rock perch Newt had made just for that moment.
The Thunderbird gave a screech of happiness, batting itâs wings up and down. The wind generated by the movement had your hair blowing around your face and you laughed. Newt wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side.
âHeâs going to need a name, you know.â You murmured into his ear, running your fingers through the hair at the base of his neck.
âFrank. His name is Frank.â You hummed in response, looking up into Newtâs eyes. They were shinning, happy that Frank was now safe. His hands glided up your waist, arms, and ended cupping your cheeks. He leaned down, his lips connecting with yours in a sweet, emotional kiss.
Frank the Thunderbird let out another screech, breaking the moment you were having with Newt. You looked at the creature and laughed again. You could only imagine how happy and relieved he was to be out of that cage. After a moment of gazing at the Thunderbird, you and Newt exited the case, ready for a chance to relax after the heist you had pulled off.
 ~
Newt woke up some time in the night. The space beside him that you usually occupied was empty and cold. He tried not to panic, thinking the worst had happened and you were just gone, but he couldnât help that his heart started to beat just a little bit faster. He climbed out of bed, looking around the tent for you. When he didnât find anything, he looked to his case.
âOh (Y/n),â he murmured, realizing you were probably in the case drawing. He should have realized that sooner, knowing you had a tendency to draw when you couldnât sleep. He opened the case with ease and climbed in, making sure it latched properly behind him. He would have to get that fixed, before any of the creatures escaped. He made his way through the hut, and when he saw you sitting in front of Franks habitat he sat down on the stairs and watched as you drew.
You were leaning over your sketch book, pencils scattered all around you as you captured the visage of the Thunderbird on paper. Frank sat on the rocky perch Newt had made for him, completely still. Newt almost thought Frank was posing for you. His head was held high, chest out. It was a bold, powerful look.
Slowly Newt stood from his spot, walking closer to you. You smiled at him when he sat down. He was amazed at what he saw on the page (though you would think by now he knew what to expect when it came to your art). You had drawn ever last feather, claw, and scar that was visible on Frankâs body. You had the colors down pat. It was almost like looking at a picture, but in color.
âHe has so many scars, Newt.â You whispered, running your fingers over the page. You rested your head on his shoulder, and Newt could feel your heat seep into his skin, warming him to his core. Newt nodded, looking up at Frank. The Thunderbird sat on his rock, looking totally at ease.
âEvery time I looked at them, this⊠this anger just kept building. I whish I had done something more to that man. He deserves the worse punishment possible. I justâŠâ you continued to tell him what you felt, and Newt couldnât help but smile. He knew what you were talking about. Thatâs how he felt when he found the Niffler, and many of his other animals.
He watched as you spoke, noticed the passion, pain, and determination in your eyes. His heart swelled with love in that moment, and he knew he couldnât keep it in any longer.
âSo what do we do now?â you suddenly asked, and it broke Newt out of his thoughts. he thought about it for a moment before responding.
âWell, I suppose we should take Frank home. Where he belongs.â He said, and the excitement that took over your features made his heart burst with happiness.
You hugged him close, ready for the new adventure. Â

A Turn in Time Pt. 15
A/n: Iâm back! I know itâs been forever, and I am so sorry. Iâve been rather busy these last few weeks, so to make up for it here is a super long (3,185 words) part to A Turn in Time! I hope itâs an acceptable apology! Enjoy!
-Mo
Warning: slight NSFW (a bit of almost smut)
It seemed a lifetime passed before Newt came to get you. In the time spent apart, you had been able to clean all the pens and habitats, start the garden, and even organize the hut. Dougal and the Niffler stuck by your side; the Demiguise even helping you in the garden. Even though the hours seemed to drag on, you had to admit it was a pleasant and productive âdayâ. You knew the trip would take about two days by boat, but you had no idea when those two days would be over.
So, you ate when you got hungry, and napped when you felt fatigued. Rather than spend all your time in the hut, you spent it with the animals. You made a little camp near the Bowtruckle tree, the little creatures delighted you would staying with them (even though they got cranky at times, what with the colds most of them had). Tucked in a sleeping bag, you felt like you were back doing your job, roaming Great Britain and recording your observations about the magical creatures you saw.
You were just about to drift off when you heard Newt calling for you. Sitting up, you could see him coming out of the hut and making his way towards you. You smiled, glad to see.
âThere you are, love. I was wondering where you were.â He said, coming up to your side and sitting on the grass next to you. You leaned over and gave him a kiss, and he pulled you into his arms. You sat like that for a few moments, just happy to be back together again.
âSo Iâm guessing we made it?â you asked, resting against him. The fatigue was starting to get to you, and you were ready to pass out. Newt could tell this and stood, pulling you with him. You leaned into him as he started making his way to the hut.
âWe did make it. The room is already set up for us.â He commented, and you hummed. It didnât take long for Newt to get you out of the case and into the hotel room. It was a nice space, nothing overly fancy though it was decorated in the typical Egyptian style of the time. You sighed in relief when you saw the bed, wanting nothing more then to cuddle up with Newt and sleep.
Which is exactly what you did. As soon as Newt was changed, and the case was secure, he crawled into the bed with you. His arms were around you in a moment, pulling you till your head was resting on his chest. The steady beating of his heart was a lullaby that you loved, and the sound of it had you falling into a deep dreamless sleep in no time.
When you woke in the morning, a soft breeze rustled the curtains, sending the sounds and smells of a market not far from the hotel. You stirred in the bed, the thin sheets a blessing in what you could already tell was a rather warm climate. You sat up, expecting to find Newt somewhere in the room working on his book. You were a bit surprised to see him still asleep beside you, a peaceful look on his already beautiful features. You slowly laid back, this time on your side so you can face the man you were falling in love with.
Very rarely did you have the chance to watch Newt. Sure, you had looked at him to draw, but this was different. This time you were looking at him purely for your own enjoyment. Though you would be lying if you said you wished you could draw every last freckle, blemish, and scar that graced his body. But you stayed where you were, letting your heart stutter as the morning sunlight lit up his sandy hair and turned it to a deep cinnamon color. You gently reached a hand out and pushed back a curl that hung over his eye.
If you hadnât been watching him you would have missed the smile stretch across his face as he gently grabbed your wrist and kissed the palm of your hand. You giggled in response, and Newt turned onto his side till your faces were just inches apart.
âGood morning, love.â He said, voice thick and still full of sleep. Oh, how it turned you on.
âGood morning.â You whispered back, lacing your fingers with his. He leaned over, pressing a lazy, early morning kiss to your lips. You giggled again, pulling him closer and deepening the kiss. His arms wrapped around your waist, and you could feel the strength usually hidden there as he held you close. You let a hand roam over the plains of his chest, which you again, rarely got the chance to see. Your other hand was buried deep in the beautiful cinnamon of his hair, and as you settled yourself over his lap, effectively straddling him, a soft moan escaped his mouth. You grinned into the kiss, pleased that you had such an effect on him. And boy did you have an effect on himâŠ.
Newt hesitantly let his hands drift up your pajama shirt, running his fingers over the skin of your back. You shivered at his touch, and your movement sent a bolt of friction down to Newtâs lap, effectively making his eyes close as he breathed out another moan. His fingers dug into your back, bringing forth a moan of your own.
You crushed your lips to his in response, the kiss now full of passion and want. You could feel Newtâs heart racing under your palm, the quick flutter of it making your fingers tingle.
Time seemed to slow after that moment. It was all roaming hands and breathless sighs of pleasure. At some point you were on your back, Newt hovering over you with your night shirt unbuttoned and his hands gently caressing your skin. Heat washed over you, pooling between your thighs and it took every ounce of willpower to not kick things into high gear.
Newt was looking into your eyes, such tenderness reflected there that it made you melt. You reached a hand up, once again pushing that stubborn curl out of his face. He turned his head, repeating his actions that lead to this moment, and kissed the palm of your hand. Your legs wrapped around his waist, bringing him closer. Your heart kicked into over drive, your body ready for what was to come. Newt was leaning back down, his lips just hovering over yours, the anticipation making your breath catch in your throat. Newt was so close, you could nearly taste his ever present, wonderful scent. Your lips just barely grazed each otherâs. You wrapped an arm around his neck, preparing to deepen the kiss whenâŠ
âRoom service!â a voice called out, a sharp knock accompanying it. The moment was broken, the atmosphere ruined. Both you and Newt sat up in bed with a gasp, hearts hammering in your chest for a whole other reason.
âJust a moment.â you called out, voice hoarse. Newt quickly stood and made his way into the bathroom, and you buttoned your shirt as you walked toward the door. You blushed when you opened, hoping to Merlin that the person beyond the door didnât know what you had been doing just moments before.
âThank you.â You said, taking the tray of breakfast food and giving them a tip. They beamed at you before walking away and you closed the door with a sigh. You placed the tray on the table in the corner, and a few seconds later Newt joined you. He gave you a sheepish smile, both of your faces bright red. He sat beside you, handing you your plate. You didnât speak, you didnât really need to. Sure, things were a bit awkward, but that was more because the mood that had been so strong had been so abruptly broken. And you swore you could still feel his hands running over your skin.
Once breakfast was finished, Newt stood, clearing his throat.
âWe should get ready. The wizard camp is only a few hours from here and we should make it before nightfall if we leave soon.â He said, and you nodded. There was a small wizard camp somewhere just outside of the port city, and where there were wizards there was wizard fire. And where there was wizard fire, there are Ashwinders.
The two of you gather what few things you had, and within the hour you were checked out and making your way through the open-air market just down the road. You and Newt walked the market hand in hand, stopping every now and then to sample some food and even gathered some more supplies for your journey. After you were done with the Ashwinders, you would making your way to Giza, where a larger wizard society was located in the shadows of the pyramids. It would take about a day of travel to get to Giza, so you needed what you could for yourselves and the creatures while you could.
When you reached the end of the market, Newt lead you over to a stall where a man was taking care of a handful of camels. Newt walked over and spoke to him briefly, the shook hands, smiles on their faces. You almost missed the stealthy exchange of money from one hand to the next before Newt waved you forward. Moments later, you were on the back of a camel, heart pounding as it stood and followed Newt on his own camel. This was totally insane, and you absolutely loved it.
The day progressed, and you could feel yourself start to tire, even though you hadnât done much other then sit on an animal as it walked through the desert. The sun was beating down on you, and you had long since covered your head. You steadily sipped your water, not wanting to come even close to dehydration. Newt was by your side, and every now and then he would glance at you and smile.
The sun was just starting itâs decent from the sky when the camp came into view. Newt grabbed his wand, and with a whisper and a flick of the wrist he sent a silvery wisp of light floating ahead of them. A message for the camp guards, letting them know they were approaching and that they were wizards too. A few minutes later you reached the edge of the camp, and you sighed in relief when the camel bent down and you could stand. Your legs burned, and your backside ached. You steadied yourself against Newt for a few moments, before the two of you tied the camels to a nearby tree and entered the camp.
A few of the wizards greeted Newt with wide smiles, coming over and shaking hands with the Magizoologist. Newt would smile back, grinning just as wide before introducing you to the newcomers. By the time introductions had been made, the sun was starting to sink below the horizon and you and Newt were pulled to the fireside where a cauldron of soup was being poured into bowls. It was nice being around wizards again. You didnât need to be careful about magic here. You had been told that there were extensive protection and anti-muggle charms placed around the camp. You didnât see very many wands, but Newt had explained that most wizards in Africa didnât need them often, that most of their spells could be cast with just a point of their fingers. This information was fascinating to you, and you watched with rapt attention as bowls of soup floated through the air and into waiting hands.
âSo, Mr. Scamander, what brings you here to our little camp once again?â an elderly woman asked, tending to the flames of the fire. If you had to guess, you would say that she was a leader or at the very least someone of great esteem in this small community.
âMy companion and I are traveling, gathering information for a book we are working on together. She is drawing the creatures we see, and we plan on using those for a childrenâs book about magical creatures.â Newt explained, gesturing to you with a look of pride on his face. The woman, and others around the fire, looked intrigued, and you rifled through your bag for you sketch book.
âWould you like to see what we have so far?â you asked, and multiple head nodded at once. You opened the book up to a random page, and handed it to the elderly witch. she took one look at the drawing before her face changed from one of curiosity to one of delight. A small group gathered around her, and they all gasped at the creatures that seemed to live on the pages.
âThese are amazing.â One commented, while another just stared in awe. You beamed with pride, and Newt grinned. They handed the book back to you, and you tucked it safely back into your bag.
âWe were hoping we would get a look at some Ashwinders while we were here. Itâs one of the creatures we would like to put in the book.â Newt mentioned, and the elderly woman nodded.
âThat shouldnât be a problem. We always get Ashwinders out here. Normally we deal with them right away, but I think just this once weâll let one slip through so you can draw them.â She gestured to you, and you smiled at her.
You pulled your notebook out once more, and grabbed a pencil to tuck behind your ear. You wanted to make sure you had everything ready when one of creature decided to appear. You ate your soup as you waited, listening to the campers tell stories and tales. It was just before midnight when you notice something move in the fire. You gabbed onto Newtâs forearm, alerting him to what you saw. He grinned at you when a thin, pale grey, snake like creature slithered out of the fire and into the sand. It started to make its way to the edge of camp, looking for a place to lay its eggs before it crumbled to ashes. You followed it closely, hand flying over the page as well as you could manage while following a magical fire snake.
Eventually it reached a cluster of rocks a few feet from the camp, and you sat in the sand while the Ashwinder started to lay itâs eggs. In the margin of the pages, you stared to write facts and observations about the creature, noting itâs glowing red eyes, and the way itâs eggs gave off intense heat, even moments after being placed in the nest. Â After the eggs were laid, the Ashwinder crumbled to ashes, exactly an hour after it appeared in the fire. You drew a pile of ashes in the corner of your notebook, and then drew the eggs. Newt had come and sat by your side sometime in the hour, and once you were finished drawing, he pulled out his wand and showed you the proper way to freeze the Ashwinder eggs.
Once the eggs were frozen, you collected the eggs and took them back to the camp. You gave them to the camp elder, and her smile was all you needed to know that you had done something right. not long after that, Newt found a space in camp and set up the tent. The two of you went to bed, wanting to get a good head start on your journey to Giza. Newt slid into bed next to you, pulling you into his warm embrace. You rested your head on his chest, listening to his steady heart beat.
âYou did great today.â He whispered, running his fingers through your hair. If you were a cat you would be purring at that moment.
âThank you. I have a pretty good teacher.â You reply sleepily, stifling a yawn. Newt kissed your forehead, telling you to go to sleep. You were gone before he even finished his sentence.
The morning came bright and early. You said your goodbyes to the campers, the elderly woman (whose name you still did not know), gave you and Newt enough food and water to last you till you reached the wizard community in Giza.
The journey was a long one. Hot and sometimes unbearable. You and Newt would perform elaborate light shows for the two of you with your wands, something to keep your mind occupied while you rode the camels through the desert. The wizarding communities here in Egypt kept their whereabouts closely guarded, and the only way to get to them was by muggle means. In short, there was no apperating here. You didnât mind though; it was a nice break from your usual pace. You wanted to enjoy it while it lasted.
You reached Giza as expected. Newt found another camel vendor, selling the camels so you could get more supplies for the creatures. It was midafternoon, and even though you were tired and hungry, you and Newt started looking through the stalls for the things you needed. Newt was holding your hand, while the case was in your other. Since this was a wizarding community, you were able to place your things in the case as you went. Once you had everything you needed, the two of you began to walk to the hotel you would be staying in.
âYou know, (Y/n), I am really glad that I have you by my side. These last weeks have been some of the best in a very long time.â He said, and you looked at him with a grin.
âI agree. Youâve been there for me since the moment I landed in this era. And Iâm so happy that itâs you that found me that day.â you tell him, a burst of immense happiness and love coursing through your body and making you feel warm and safe.
Newt stopped walking and turned to face you. His eyes were teary, but the smile on his face could rival the sun. He pulled you closer, hands cupping your face.
â(Y/n) there is something that I have to say.â He murmured, voice nearly cracking with emotion. Your heart was beating wildly in your chest, hope bubbling and making your stomach flutter with butterflies.
Newt opened his mouth to continue, but you pulled away suddenly. Something behind him had caught your attention, replacing the lovely feelings with anger and hatred.
âNewt. Newt look.â you said, pointing to the sight that had ruined your mood. Newt furrowed his brows, turning to where you pointed. You knew he had seen it too when his eyes widened and his face flushed red with indignation.
âIs that what I think it is?â he asked, voice now low and filled with righteous anger. You nodded, gripping your wand tightly.
âA Thunderbird. In a cage.â You replied, and when Newt looked at you, you swore you knew exactly what he what he was thinking.

A Turn in Time Pt. 9
A/n: Again, so sorry for the mix up! Hereâs the real part 9! Enjoy!
-Mo
~
You walked through the dim streets of the French sea side town. It was a beautiful place, with glowing street lights and little shops lining the road. Newt was by your side, pointing out places that he had visited the last time he had been in the area. It was a peaceful night, a few people walked about and you could hear music played somewhere in the distance.
When you reached the small bistro, Newt opened the door for you and you couldnât help but smile. Such a gentleman. You found seats near the windows, and continued your conversation as you placed your orders and settled in. Throughout the night, you couldnât help but notice Newt in a new light. And it wasnât just the candles lighting the restaurant. For maybe the first time ever you and Newt talked about something other than the creatures and what life was like growing up. This time you talked about the weather, your surroundings, even current events.
More than anything though, you got the chance to once again to do nothing but listen to Newt talk. To watch him and do nothing else. You loved Newtâs voice, the softness to it but the strength behind it. The way his eyes glowed in the candle light, and how his freckles seemed to burn against his skin. Your fingers started twitching, itching for something to draw with, to capture his beauty in all its glory. When it came time to head back to the hotel, you walked arm in arm with him again. You couldnât help but notice his scent as the wind blew it across your face. That distinct fresh dirt, cinnamon and mint scent that was purely Newt Scamander. By the time you reached the hotel room and got ready for bed, you could no longer deny that there were some feelings for the Magizoologist that had nothing to do with friendship.
Merlinâs Beard were you in big trouble now.
 ~
Newt woke you up fairly early, the both of you wanting to get to the train station in plenty of time. When you reached the station you still had about an hour till your train would arrive, and you and Newt took the moment to grab a quick bit to eat in a café across the street.
âDid you sleep well?â Newt asked, sipping on his tea. You picked at a croissant, wondering if you should tell him about your rather restless night. You could thank your thoughts for that one.
âUm, Iâve had better. I think Iâm just a bit excited to get to Hungary.â You offered in explanation. It was partially true. Newt nodded, and you noticed he had his own dark circles around his eyes.
âI know how you feel. We can always get some sleep on the train. We have a compartment to ourselves and it takes about a day to get to Hungary from Paris.â He said and you nodded. You finished the rest of breakfast in comfortable silence, and walked back over to the station with ten minutes to spare. When the train arrived, you boarded rather quickly and found your compartment. The small space was quite except for the sound of the train pulling out of the station.
You sat with a sigh, watching the landscape rush past the window. You pulled out your journal, hoping to get a chance to draw Newt again. It had been on the forefront of your mind sense dinner with him the night before.
âYou know; no train quite lives up to the Hogwarts Express.â You said, looking around at the train car. Newt smiled and nodded, settling down on the seat across from you. He set his case down on his lap and he leaned his head back against the seat. His eyes were closed and you were certain he was sleep until he spoke.
âI miss the trolley. The pumpkin pasties were always my favorite.â He said, and you laughed.
âPumpkin pasties are my favorite too!â you exclaimed, and he opened his eyes with a smile. You grinned back at him before turning back to your journal. He was really asleep soon after that, laying down on the bench with his case clutched to his chest. You grinned again and started to draw.
Two hours later you arrived in Paris and switched trains. You grabbed some sandwiches from the food trolley before arriving in your new compartment. This one had beds in it, and you sighed in relief. You ate quickly before climbing into the bottom bunk while Newt set up at the table next to the window for some work. It didnât take long for you to start drifting. The warm blankets around you, the soft scratching of Newtâs quill and his faint breaths from across the room gave you a deep sense of comfort and security. You were fast asleep before you knew it.
 ~
Newt used the time he had to get some more work done on his book. He was certain within the next few months it would be finished. He looked up from his work when you shifted on the bed, mumbling something in your sleep. Your brows were furrowed, and there was a thin sheen of sweat on your forehead. Newt hoped you werenât getting sick. Using his Magizoology skills, he turned back to his work while still keeping an eye on you.
He tried to keep writing, really he did. But you kept tossing and turning in your sleep and he was really starting to worry about you. It was no fault of your own, you werenât even aware of what you were doing. But just like if one of his creatures was sick or upset, Newt had the same protective response for you as he did for his creatures. He stood up from his seat and was about to grab his coat and head over to the food car to get you some soup when you bolted out of bed, yelling.
Newt was startled but rushing over to your side, spotting tears streaming down your face.
â(Y/n)? Love, whatâs wrong?â he asked, wrapping his arms around you as you sank to the ground sobbing. You didnât answer at first, your brain trying to process everything.
âBad dream.â You told him, still crying. He rubbed soothing circles on your back, and lifted you up onto the bed again. He pulled you closer into his arms, hugging you to his chest as you cried your feelings out. When you were reduced to nothing more than sniffles and an occasional hiccup, Newt dared to speak.
âDo you want to talk about your dream?â he asked, combing his fingers through your hair. He had long since stretched out on the bed, you nestled in his side. You hiccupped again before answering.
âI saw my friends. My parents.â You whispered, voice a little hoarse from your sobbing. Newt pulled you a little closer, understanding dawning on him.
âIt wasnât anything particularly bad, it was more like memories.â You explained, a new round of tears falling down your cheek and landing on Newtâs already damp shirt. Newt closed his eyes and hugged you. He couldnât even begin to imagine what you were feeling at the moment.
âIâll never see them again. Or at least not till Iâm older. Older than they are.â A sob broke free as you said that, and you clutched onto Newt a little tighter. He kissed the side of your head, his heart reaching out to you. He felt useless in that moment, knowing you were hurting but not knowing how to help you. This wasnât like when one of his creatures was hurt. All he had to do was make a potion or say a spell and everything was fixed. But this? This was emotional, this was something you couldnât see. Couldnât fix with a potion or spell. At least not without some kind of permanent alteration to who you were. And he would never do something like that to you.
âIâm all alone now, truly alone.â You said, breaking Newt out of his thoughts. He was reminded of the first day he met you, how you had realized that all you had left of your old world was your journal. This was a bit different but the notion was still the same. Newt opened his eyes and looked at you. He unwrapped one hand from your waist and used it to lift your chin so you could look at him. Your eyes fluttered open, blinking in the low light. Red ringed your eyes, they were puffy and your cheeks were tear stained. But Newt couldnât help it when his heart fluttered at the sight.
âYou are not alone. You will never be alone, not on my watch. You are part of my family now, and I wonât let anything happen to you. I promise.â He said, voice steady and eyes unwavering. You couldnât help but tear up again, his words warming your heart and soothing the sting your dream had brought on. You wrapped your arms around his neck tightly, giving him as big a hug as you could muster. He pulled you closer, one arm still around your waist while the other cradled your head.
He enveloped you, surrounded you with warmth and that scent that only belonged to him. For the first time since waking up, since landing here really, you felt totally and completely safe. You felt at home. Maybe⊠maybe even lovedâŠ.      Â

A Turn in Time Pt. 8
A/n: Hereâs Part 8, for real this time! So sorry for the mix up guys! Enjoy!
-Mo
~
The next few days were a whirlwind. A new place every day, a new dragon. It was astounding. You were able to get as close as you could with Newt, and you tried to fit as much detail as you could in the pictures you drew in the new journal Newt got for you. The first few pages were filled with the handful of dragons Newt had taken you to see, and you couldnât wait for the latest one. You were currently waiting in the case with the animals while Newt traveled the muggle way.
Since you were from the future, you didnât have any of your identification papers. And while that might not be a huge deal in the wizarding world, it would be a bit hard to acquire a muggle passport like Newt had. So to keep you safe, and the creatures relatively calm, you elected to stay in the case whenever muggle transportation would be needed. And so here you were. Newt was currently on a boat, making his way from England to France. From there you would travel by train, something you could do with him. But for now, you hid in the case, using the time you had to draw the creatures.
You were in the Niffler cave, watching as the little guy sniffed around looking from shiny piece to shiny piece. You smiled to yourself as you drew a delicate, but pretty looking ring that was hanging on the creatureâs wrist like a bracelet. He was just the cutest thing ever, and you couldnât believe this was the first time drawing him.
âWhat are you doing in here, love?â you started at the sound of Newtâs voice, coming from behind you. You looked over your shoulder and found him standing at the edge of the cave. He was leaning against the wall, his sleeves rolled up and he coat nowhere to be seen.
âDrawing the Niffler.â You stated simply, turning back to your work with another small smile. Newt came up and sat next to you. It had become a thing the two of you would do. You would draw and he would sit next to you, watching. Every now and then he would point out something about the creature that you might have missed, and gives you constant praises about the finished product. He was passionate about his creatures, and you could tell he had the same gleam in his eyes when he looked at your drawings. He was nothing if not supportive of what you did.
You continued to draw, and Newt reached into his pocket. He pulled out a galleon, and held it out to the creature. It took a moment for it to notice, but when it did it scurried over in an instant. Â It climbed into Newtâs lap, taking the coin from his hand and started to inspect it. Newt gently glided his hand over the back of the Nifflerâs glossy back fur.
âI rescued him you know.â Newt said as the little guy started to crawl over Newtâs body, looking for more trinkets. You watched the two of them with a smile, your heart melting at the sight of the Niffler standing on Newtâs shoulder in disappointment at not finding anything else.
âThe Goblins had him, using him to find all sorts of precious metals and lost artifacts. He was badly malnourished, a little beaten up. I just couldnât let it happen anymore.â Newt told you, pulling the Niffler into his arms. He squirmed out, instead coming over to look through your own pockets.
âIâd have done the exact same thing.â You told him, laughing as the Niffler crawled up your back to perch on your shoulder. You patted the creatureâs head, looking at Newt with a smile. A look of alarm crossed his features and you were about to ask what was wrong when you felt a tug at you neck. The Niffler jumped off your shoulder, something long and shiny clamped tightly in his hand.
âHey!â
~
Newt watched as you laughed at the Nifflerâs antics, his little paws tickling you as he crawled all over. He couldnât help but let a smile spread across his face. He had to admit, having you here was amazing. He had forgotten how nice it was to have a friend, someone who could listen to his rambling about this that and the other when it came to his creatures. Someone who cared about what he did, cared about the creatures that he cared for. After Leta⊠well, he thought he would never find that again. And yet, here you were. He watched as you pat the Niffler on his head before turning to him with a smile that made his heart clench. He also saw that bloody Niffler go for the necklace dangling from your neck. Quick as a Billywig, the Niffler grabbed the necklace and bolted.
âHey!â Newt cried, rushing after it in a heartbeat. You cried out behind him, realizing what just happened. Newt grabbed for the Niffler, but he turned at the last second, heading for the mouth of the cave. Stopping suddenly, Newt stopped and pulled out his wand. He cast a quick blocking charm, and it struck just before the Niffler reached the exit. The creature bounced off the spell, and Newt scooped him up. He turned to you, who was still sitting in the same spot, eyes wide and mouth hanging open. Newt walked over, and tickled the Nifflerâs belly until the necklace fell out of its pouch. Newt let the Niffler go, and he scooped up the piece of jewelry.
âItâs broken.â You whispered, hand grazing the broken chain. Newt frowned, and grabbed his wand again. He pointed it at the necklace, muttered a quite spell.
âRepario.â The broken pieces of the chain lifted into the air, and in a moment it was whole again. You stood, eyes alight.
âMay I?â Newt asked, gesturing at your neck. You nodded, turning around. Carefully, Newt lifted his arm and let the necklace fall against your chest before securing it around your neck. You slowly turned around, and Newt was able to see small flecks of color in your eyes. You were so close; Newt could feel your warmth radiating into him. His heart started to beat a little faster, and he was about to move when something behind him caused you to exclaim in delight. Â
âNewt look! One of the Occamy eggs is hatching!â you cried, grabbing your things and rushing out of the Niffler cave. Newt closed his eyes and sighed, his heart sinking in his chest, though he didnât really understand why. He shook his head before following after you.
~
You reached the Occamy nest in seconds, your heart beating wilding with excitement. You could see one of the eggs trembling, the baby inside it moving about. Newt came up beside you, and together you watched at the pure silver egg started to crack. You looked to Newt, your grin widening as the baby Occamy started to emerge. He was grinning too, the skin around his eyes crinkling. He turned around and walked into the shack. He came back seconds later with fresh food for the Mama Occamy to feed her new baby. You backed up, letting the mother care for her child as it spilled out of the shell.
You had never seen something so amazing, and you leaned into Newtâs side watching the small family. He wrapped his arm around you, pulling you closer.
âItâs amazing.â You whispered, resting your head against him. He squeezed you in a hug, a soft grunt escaping his mouth in agreement. You stayed like that for a while longer, waiting to see if any of the other eggs would hatch before leaving the case for the night.
You emerged in a rather nice looking room, a brochure on one of the tables indicating that you were in France. You turned to Newt who was securely latching up the case.
âWhen did we arrive?â you asked him, taking your things he handed to you and setting them on the bed. He glanced at a clock on the wall before turning back to you.
âAbout mid-afternoon. I thought you would like to spend some time top side so I rented a room for the night before we head for the train station.â He explained, and you smiled.
âYou would have thought correct.â you tell him. He glances at the clock again and walks over to you.
âAre you hungry? Iâm sure youâre probably starved. Not much food in the case for humans.â He rambled and you chuckled.
âI could eat. What do you have in mind?â you asked. Newt grinned, his face lighting up from the action.
âI know of this little bistro just down the road. Itâs not too late, we could go and have supper. If you want to, of course.â he added, not wanting to force you into anything. You just rolled your eyes and grabbed your new coat. Fall was starting to arrive and the old cloak Newt had given you wouldnât do anything to keep the chill away.
âWhereâs this bistro?â you asked, holding out your arm for him. Â

~
You ran through the hills of Greece, hand in hand with Newt. You huffed and puffed, lungs begging for air. Your legs burned and you had this strong sense of déjà vu. Looking beside you, you made sure that Newt was still there, even though you could feel his hand in yours. His Hufflepuff scarf billowed behind him as he ran, and his blue coat flapped with every step he took. His face was red and you could hear him breathing hard just like you were.
A roar behind you had you looking forward again, your heart racing.
âJust a little further, love.â Newt huffed, and you hoped to Merlin he was right. Newt and you had been studying the Chimaera here in Greece on the reservation wizards had set up to keep the beasts away from the Muggles. Unfortunately for you, one could not disparate on the premises. Hence the running from an angry Chimaera. You had failed to notice how close you were to a nest and decided it would be best to run then try and subdue the blood thirsty beast.
Newt put on a burst of speed as the entrance to the reservation came into sight, and as you passed the Greek pillars and left the charmed section of land, Newt spun around and the next second you were in your rooms at the hotel. You collapsed on the bed, heart still beating a mile a minute and lungs aching from lack of air. You pulled in great gasps of air, thankful you had made it out of there alive. Newt plopped down beside you, pulling you into his side for a hug.
âSorry about that, love.â He said, voice low. His face was still red and you could see his chest rising in deep, steady breaths. You shook your head, resting against him.
âNot your fault. I was the one that got too close to the nest. I got everything I needed anyway. and besides, whatâs a little near death experience before dinner?â you joked, a smile cracking across your lips. Newt grinned back at you, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
âWe have to get our exercise in somewhere, might as well be by running from dangerous creatures.â He joked back, standing up and heading for the table in the corner of the room. He pulled out his wand, and moments later a small meal was settling itself on the tabletop. You rushed over, your stomach growling loudly as the desire to eat suddenly washed over you. You and Newt sat down, tucking into the meal.
The two of you spoke about your plans for the next day, ready to move on to the next round of travel. You would be heading to Egypt next, hoping to see a Sphinx and Newt said he knew of a great place to see Ashwinderâs. It was nice being able to finally see the creatures you had studied all about in person. Even if they chased you through the hills of Greece.
With the adrenaline out of your system, the fatigue from constant traveling consumed you. You crawled into the four poster bed with a groan, your muscles aching just enough for it to be considered uncomfortable. Newt crawled in beside you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you into his warmth. Turning around, you tucked your head into his neck, breathing in his calming scent as you started to drift off.
~
You woke up to sunlight streaming through the curtains of your room and you moaned, turning into Newts arms. When you didnât feel him, you cracked your eyes open to see the bed empty. You sat up, looking for his case. There is was, sitting on the floor a few paces away. You sighed in relief before getting up and dressing. You climbed into the case, searching for Newt and whatever creature held his attention at the moment. Â
You found him in the shed, writing stuff down in his little notebook. He looked up as you entered, a smile blossoming on his face when he caught sight of you.
âGood Morning, Darling. How did you sleep?â he asked, walking over and giving you a kiss on the forehead. You leaned into his touch, a yawn escaping before you could stop it.
âLike I did after N.E.W.T.S.â you said, making the Magizoologist laugh. He kissed your cheek this time before going back to his task.
âAre you taking inventory?â you asked, looking around at the room. Newt nodded, not looking up from his booklet.
âWell need to gather more food before we leave. Youâll be fine in the case, yes?â he asked, worry making his brows crinkle. You reached up and smoothed them out before gently giving a kiss on the lips.
âOf course, love. Iâll take care of the creatures while you smuggle us into Egypt!â you joked, making him smile. You start getting everything ready for the next leg of your journey, and before long you were checked out of the hotel and making your way to a small wizard community in town for supplies. You and Newt split up, each gathering items from the list. You met back up once you had everything, and Newt placed them in the case. He grabbed you by the hand and you walked together to the harbor. Â
A block away, you and Newt ducked into a secluded alley. He wrapped you up in a tight hug, enveloping you in his arms. You buried your face in his neck, your fingers curling into his hair at the base of his neck. Even though you would be in the case, it was still hard to part from Newt. He had been a constant in your life for weeks, and it was strange not having him by your side. Not to mention the isolation in the case. You had no way of knowing what was happening while you were in case, no way to tell the passage of time. Put all that together and you had a healthy mix of anxiety building up in the pit of your belly.
Newt could tell you were on edge, so he pulled you in a little closer. His lips found yours, the kiss providing the perfect distraction from your thoughts. Eventually though, you had to part. Newt helped you into the case, a soft smile giving you one last reassurance before disappearing.

Can you write a mini story where Newt comforts the reader after she loses her beloved pet. Lots of fluff plz <333
You sat in Newtâs case, your arms wrapped around your legs as you watched Newt tend to his creatures. and overwhelming sadness crept up on you and you bit your lip to keep from crying. Your long time pet owl had just passed away, after nearly twenty years together. Your parents had gifted the beauty to you when you got your Hogwarts acceptance letter, and the two of you had been inseparable since.Â
But about a month ago your friend had gotten sick, and no matter what you or Newt could do, your faithful companion never got better. A few tears slipped down your face, a sob escaping before you could stop it. Newt looked over from his spot by Frankâs perch. The sadness on your face had him by your side in an instant, his arms wrapping around you just as you started to sob in earnest.Â
Newt gently rubbed your back as you cried into his shirt, your fingers clutching onto the fabric as tightly as you could. With his free hand he ran his fingers through your hair, the one thing he knew that calmed you down. When you finally did calm down, Newt pulled you back so he could wipe the tears from your face.Â
âItâs alright, love. I know how hard it can be.â was all he said, kissing each of your tear stained cheeks and pulling you in for a tight hug. Â Â
