honestly, in terms of harry potter games, i desperately want one that’s just… going around the school and learning magic, yknow?

like, the only one ive played a bit is hogwarts mystery (on mobile) but ive looked at the other options and they all focused on more on the story than the classes. which like, makes sense, if youre making a game you want it to be a game, but also i just want to do magic school and learn how everything works.

i am such a sucker for magic theory and every day life as a wizard in general, i know there’s stuff like hogwartsishere online that has versions of lessons but that’s not a game. its better than nothing but i am still dying of want to just guide a lil guy around a magic castle learning magic and holing up in a library.

help. i read a fic years ago and it gave me brainrot but i cannot find it for the life of me. i have an odd assortment of (questionable) memories about it, which are as follows

it’s most likely on ff.net, though i cannot find through ff.net or google search.

Hiccup is taken from berk at a young age (like, baby age?) BUT instead of by dragons it’s by these spider (thats how i imagined them) monster things? kinda like dragons but if dragons were based on spiders i guess.

He gets taken to their queen (who is definitely spider-like) and she cocoons him (inside her?? maybe???) and rebirths him to be part them? i think. he grows up as their prince.

a few plot points i know are him going to berk under disguise (a dark cloak (i think he had creature features from the rebirth thing) and gloves) and ending up in a duel with someone in the ring. he wins but they realize he’s part creature. (i think he challenged the duel because the dude was being creepy on astrid - might be a different fic though).

i dont remember if hiccup knows he’s from berk or if berk ever finds out.

second remembered plot point is hiccup and his creatures befriending(?) a village and helping by bringing them supplies and i think fighting for them?

also the dragons have maybe been gone the entire story? not sure, there’s a distinct lack of dragons with hiccup though.

im like 60% sure the title had something along the lines of “the queen’s prince” or something, ive tried searching with “queen” and “prince” though and nothing showed up. i think it was an older story, written maybe 2014?? (definitely not sure of that though, total guess).

As mentioned i really really want to find the fic again to reread it. it was such an interesting premise and i remember really liking it. it pips back up in my head every so often and i spend a bit trying to-and failing- to find it.

yes. I was also recently introduced to the headcannon that Tom was autistic (as an autistic person, it seems fairly plausible and would definitely add to the whole Everyone At The Orphanage + Dumbledore Treats Him Like Shit And Makes No Effort To Understand,) regardless Dumbledore did not treat him as human -let alone a child- and made absolutely no effort to. Also who the fuck sends students home to a warzone -even if dumbles wasnt the headmaster- instead of, idk, the giant empty wizard castle????

Tom was raised in a Religious Orphanage in the 30s and 40s. He was not treated nicely by anyone. Of course he would be vindictive and hate Non-Magicals.

Dumbledore on the other hand decided that an eleven-year-old was the anti-Christ and treated him like he was already a mass-murderer.

Tom was in the Orphanage in London when the bombs fell. Of course he would be terrified of dying. He was abandoned by his only living relatives. Of course he’d wish them dead.

Dumbledore looked at a child and saw a demon. If he had seen a child, Voldemort would never have existed.
