The current Dead Weather drummer was apparently interested in a stuffed elephant that "American Picker" stars Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe came across.

The legendary Elton John has a busy year ahead of him. Fresh off his 3rd Golden Globe nomination for the "Gnomeo and Juliet" soundtrack song "Hello, Hello", the famously outlandish piano man has a biopic in the works, and he already has a solid lead on the actor he'd like to portray him.

This year's telecast marks the 40th anniversary of the Dick Clark produced show. It debuted on NBC in 1973, though for that year it was titled "Three Dog Night's New Year's Rockin' Eve 1973". It featured Blood Sweat and Tears, Three Dog Night, Helen Reddy and Al Green.

As 2011 comes to a close, we at Music Forte have compiled a list of the musicians we've lost this year, not as a prurient, TMZ-style countdown, but as a tribute to those, like us, who made music their lives. It's impossible for us to remember the soaring heights of the year in music without celebrating a few people who left us too soon.
