My Liminal Spaces of Death Energy
Throughout my years of being a witch, I have traveled up and down the east coast, meeting different energies along the way. This post will include my personal experiences of death energy inside certain spaces I have been and continue to use as a death witch. This is just a fun post for me to do and I hope it will bring you all some fun experiences on your journey with death's energy. Enjoy!
First off, what does the word liminal mean?
In the book Weave the Liminal, by Laura Tempest Zakroff, we find the quote:
"So much of the experience of being a Witch and practicing Witchcraft is hard to put into words. However, liminal is one of those words that gets pretty close to describing much of what we sense. It is a good objective that captures that sense of there-but-not-quite as a sensation. Applied as a noun, it gives name to the in-between places we traverse as spirits still connected to the physical realm-while we work with spirits of other realms. What we call those realms has a lot to do with what culture we belong to, what myths we subscribe to, and how we view the invisible and the unknown. But they all find a home in the word liminal."
Dictionary.com gives us this meaning of liminal:
Liminal is an adjective that’s used to describe things that exist at the threshold (or border) between one thing and another.
So, what's a liminal space?
Liminal is the threshold between one thing and another, a border between things seen and unseen. It is the sensation we are here, but there is something else before us.
Put together with witchcraft, a liminal space is the door between our physical realm and the realm of other worlds. It is a doorway we can sense and feel, sometimes see, different energies and beings. Higher energies reside here, and are great for workings!
You know that sensation you get when standing in a space that feels like there is something there? When you look upon something and realize you are not alone? This is a liminal space.
Liminal Spaces of Death
Some spaces can be accessed at any time, others have limited openings. Please, be aware of your surroundings and do not attend alone if you are able to. These are my experiences, but most can be accessed at anytime. The times I use are when I experienced energies at their highest. Please, be safe.
A river or creek at dawn
Restroom stops on a large highway at 1 a.m.
Tree stumps in the middle of a forest
24 hour convenient stores at 3 in the morning
Bridges over a body of water (creeks, rivers, lakes) when no one else is around
Standing before the ocean at dawn
Abandoned buildings covered in graffiti at dusk
A dirt road surrounded by trees when fog and little light is visible
Driving down a major highway when everyone else is asleep
Hotel lobbies and hallways after 10 pm until 4 am
The silence after a concert is finished and everyone has left
Riding a bicycle or walking through a large cemetery (when there are paths and permissions to do so, of course)
Walking through Main Street of a small town after midnight
Sitting on a porch watching rainstorms from midnight to 8 am
Cleaning out gardens in early spring
Entrances to cemeteries
Museums just after opening and right before closing time
Antique shops and thrift stores
Exploring landmarks of history
Graffiti art that has begun to wash away
What can I do in these places?
Well, let me tell you!
Meditate
Collect energy from these places and store it for later use
Leave offerings
Ask to work with beings/begin working with beings of these spaces
Find objects from these spaces (with permission) to take home and draw energy from in workings at home
Access these spaces in lucid dreaming or astral projection as a doorway into other worlds
There are many different ideas to do in these spaces! Do some research and find what works best for your practice!

Norse Magic: A Simplified Introduction
The terms “seiðr”, “spá”, and “galdr” are a few of the terms that get thrown around when discussing Norse magic. What do all of these words mean?
For starters, “seiðr”, “spá”, and “galdr” are not different words for the same type of practice. While these can all fit together, and usually those that do one often do the other, they each hold individual roles in Norse magic.
Seiðr
Seiðr, at its basic form, is trance induced magic that can be done while soul traveling the nine worlds. You can alter your destiny or even affect the destiny of others. If you are familiar with chaos magic, seiðr is like a school of shamanistic chaos magic (for example you can control your reality through actions done in trance work instead of through sigils). You can make use of energy work and heal yourself or others, alter someone’s opinion, thoughts, or actions concerning a certain situation, and even commune with the gods themselves and act as a channel for them to speak through. There is so much more concerning seiðr that can’t be covered in this paragraph, but will be expanded upon in future entries.
Spá
Spá or spá-craft is the art of seeing one’s fate. Just like the work of a seer, a spákona or spámaðr is able to tap into the threads of one’s fate, seeing what is to come or what they and their ancestors have experienced in the past.
Galdr
Galdr, meaning “incantation”, is the practice that uses the chants or songs of runes when practicing runic magic. Since you are working with focused vibrational energy, the practice of galdr can be extremely powerful when used properly.
While these are tremendously simplified descriptions of tremendously complex practices, it’s a good jumping off point for the different articles I’m going to write that will further explain them in detail. In future entries, I’ll start with discussing the foundations of seiðr and sharing ways in which you can start learning how to utilize it in your practice. Eventually, I will have articles concerning spá-craft and galdr. I look forward to sharing what I’ve experienced with everyone!

The Morrigan
Tumblr media
Names - Morrígan, Morrigu, Na Morrigna (meaning Great Queen or Phantom Queen)
Description - She is a goddess of war and violence, of the battlefield, and of both life and death. She is the Queen of Witches, of prophecy, and her ravens are said to be an omen of death. She protects fierce spirits and collects the souls of those who died on the battlefield. She is a goddess of sovereignty and power, and she was feared by everyone.
The Three Morrígna: Badb, Macha and Nemain - These three goddesses are considered to be the three aspects of The Morrigan or, sometimes, She Herself is called Badb or Macha and the other two are considered to be her companions or sisters. Badb (or Badb Catha, meaning Crow of War) is an omen of death and is found in battlefields. Macha is the regal aspect of the trio, the Queen. Nemain is the goddess of the violence of war.
Mythology - Celtic and Irish. Stone slabs dedicated to her were found in many parts of Europe
Places - Battlefields, rivers and forests
Moon - Waning moon or New moon
Seasons - Winter and Fall, Samhain is her Sabbat
Elements - Fire and Water
Weapons - Spear or sword, magic and divination
Animals - Crows and ravens, but also wolves, horses and sometimes fishes
Herbs - Hawthorn, mugwort, belladonna, sage, cinnamon, and violets
Crystals - Obsidian, onyx, opal, amethyst, clear quartz, and tiger eye
Tarot Card - The Death
Incense - Dragon blood
Offerings - Red wine, meat, black coffee, and cherries
Colours - Black, red, purple, and blue
Other things - Skulls, bones, blood, black candles, hag stones and feathers
My personal experience with Her - She caught my attention and then She led me into her arms. She is fierce, and jealous, and a warrior, and She teaches me how to be powerful. She is also a protector, a healer, and a witch, and She gives me strength. She is the goddess for fighters, and I feel her nearest when my thoughts are violent, when I’m just like fuck it! fuck everything, who cares?! and She’ll be there, making me feel like I can build my own destiny. And let me tell you, I can. She has taught me that. She likes leather and knives, and sometimes as a devotional act I paint my nails black for her. She is my guide.
I hope this was helpful! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Amplituhedron
- the shape that does not exist in space-time
Physicists reported this week (dec 2013 n.r.) the discovery of a jewel-like geometric object that dramatically simplifies calculations of particle interactions and challenges the notion that space and time are fundamental components of reality.
The revelation that particle interactions, the most basic events in nature, may be consequences of geometry significantly advances a decades-long effort to reformulate quantum field theory, the body of laws describing elementary particles and their interactions. Interactions that were previously calculated with mathematical formulas thousands of terms long can now be described by computing the volume of the corresponding jewel-like “amplituhedron,” which yields an equivalent one-term expression.
