Hi tumblr friends.

Unfortunately I do not have good news. I was hospitalized again a few weeks ago after coughing up some blood and having other symptoms due to my cancer…

After some tests and scans, my oncologists have determined that there isn’t much more they can do for my disease. It has started to progress quickly.

After praying, talking with doctors and family, I have decided to remain at home and have a hospice nurse visit me weekly. I am staying on some pain medications and cough medications to keep me as comfortable as possible.

I decided to come home so I can be around family and friends during this time. We are staying positive and hoping and praying for a miracle. Taking each and every day as a blessing.

I just wanted to say thank-you to those of you who have followed me over the last 11-12 years. I have very much enjoyed engaging in hockey talks with many of you, watching streams together, or playing hockey cards against humanity.

Despite the many ups and downs, I’ve made so many friends through our love of the game or our love of certain players/teams and I am forever grateful for those connections

As some of you might know, last year I was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in my leg. I went through radiation therapy and surgery to remove that tumor, but unfortunately my tumors had spread into my lungs.

I first went on a treatment involving infusions of vitamin c and a type of chemotherapy. This treatment did not give positive results so I went on another treatment involving two oral medications. We were very hopeful for this treatment, because on my first “check in” a majority of my tumors had shrunk! But at the next check in some of them had grown again and some new ones formed.

This was very disappointing to hear, but I have started on a new treatment. This one is another infusion of an Immunotherapy drug that will hopefully help my body fight off this cancer.

We had a bit of a setback, however, I have quite a bit of blood surrounding my left lung. I recently had surgery and had chest tubes put in to drain out some of this, but there was just a lot of cancer within it that it was hard for the doctors to really do anything. I was in the hospital for about ten days.

I’ve returned home now, but am still dealing with complications. I have a constant cough, pain, and I get short of breath/winded pretty quickly. Also due to the pain, it’s hard to walk or stand for a period of time.

Due to all this, I am currently unable to work and am unsure of when or if I’ll be able to return. On top of all that, I am having trouble getting my disability approved through work so I have had no money coming in.

My family is helping me as much as they can, but I still have lots of bills to pay. I know the holidays are coming and times are hard on everyone, but if you could, I would really appreciate it if y’all could maybe help a sister out?
