okAY SO,, im gonna have a rANT REGARDING JOY’S SOLO DEBUT %@$/!%

firstly,it really pisses me off how sm is clearly trying to push our girls into messy, underbudget solo debuts to cover up the fact that sm can’t even give us a proper ot5 comeback. shinee,nct,aespa and evEN exo have already had/are having their comebacks.

today, i saw a literal ten minutes video for aespa’s upcoming comeback,, and im saying ten.fucking.minutes with aespa looking real marvel badass kinda thing. that’s a lot and the visuals, cgi, everything was obviously high budget!!! it pains me to see my girls treated this way. not surprised considering how sm has always likes to neglect their old ggs after a new one is out ...

another thing is that im sure we all know joy (and the rest of the members) work extremely hard for their comebacks and are some of kpop’s best artists with capabilities of becoming as big as bts/blackpink. so, they deserve great promotions, teasers, mvs like going on knowing brothers etc. now,, look at wendy’s debut, there wasn’t any extra promotions like going on shows and stuff to promote. yes, we did get quite a few bts videos but that’s it!! we and the girls deserve so much more.

i saw an insta post from a director ,who is supposedly filming joy’s solo mv. they were using a drone to film the mv and looking at the location,, i could tell it was low budget,, plus sm is really rushing the comeback when we haven’t even had a photo teaser or anything. they should let the fans anticipate the debut, not announce it out of the blue. why can’t you just put more effort into this ?!!!

lastly, the remake album. joy is an artist with multiple hit drama osts and collabs which have been nominated for awards even without any proper promotions or performances,, that shows how successful joy can be. however, idk who but some deranged person decided to let her cover some old songs instead... im pretty sure they are just using her to promote some old ass sm songs. why can’t you just give joy a concept and NEW song which she can do well in.

you awoke to soft sheets, and the morning light trickled in through the blinds. shedding yourself off of the remaining glimpses of a beautiful dream, your eyes were still shut as you soaked in the warmth of your covers before letting your eyes see the sun's rays. 

it was a nice and peaceful sleep—you had never slept this peacefully in such a long time. slowly and reluctantly, you uncovered your face. you blinked, closed your eyes, and blinked again. streaks of sunlight penetrated the window and blinded you momentarily. you sat up, dragging your feet off the bed, and rubbed your knuckles onto your eyes. you stretched your arms above your head and yawned, your legs dangling off the cold,hard floor.

you flinched when you got a sudden phone call. the deafening ringtone immediately waking up all your senses as you bend your body over to the opposite side of the bed to reach for your phone. the bright screen immediately lit up in front of your face, making you flinch.

today was you and jennie's one year anniversary.

your heart slightly leaped at the thought of your sweet girlfriend surprising you with the bouquet of roses like what she did on your one month anniversary. your eyes frantically searched for the familiar username of your girlfriend on the phone but there was none. there wasn't any heart warming messages like you'd expect but instead just a flood of reminders about your upcoming tests. you reminisced about the "honeymoon phase" of your relationship when she would send you adorable messages every single morning,, it wasn't like she never stopped months ago but you couldn't help but find herself staring at the screen every morning for the sight of the very messages. you managed to climb out of bed and groggily slip on your outfit, stuffing your phone into one of the fuzzy pockets.

arriving at school, you waved goodbye to your brother before clicking open your metal locker while your eyes anxiously roamed around the hallway for any sign of your girlfriend but to no avail. instead, your eyes landed on two familiar, brown orbs which stared brazenly back into yours. you watched as her fixated eyes studied you with an unreadable expression and her eyebrows slightly arched as if saying "are you okay?" . your eyes flickered once or twice before eventually breaking off the eye contact with lisa. you peered aimlessly into your locker at your heavy stacks of books. today definitely wasn't your day.

however, underneath all the old, scrunched test papers and wrapped textbooks, you notice a hint of pink paper stuffed between two of your textbooks, the gold glitter gleaming under all the mess. your blank face slowly morphed into one of pure glee. for the first time in a few days, you smiled.

all your previous thoughts of having to be extremely cautious around jennie whenever you had the love letter disappeared into thin air after you had hurriedly spilled the contents out from the letter at the clap of thunder, revealing the piece of thin paper folded neatly in half. you didn't care if jennie saw you with a love letter from an unknown stranger. maybe you even liked the whole idea. the sun shining through the windows illuminated the piece of delicate paper held in your hands. your fingers traced over each and every stroke of letters, lightly grazing over every wrinkle on the paper. oh how much you wish you could just jump into m's embrace right now, to bury your head in their chest while they soothe you with their melodious voice.

the deafening sound of the bell sounded through the crowded hallways of the school as students started fleeing to their first classes. carefully placing the precious letter into a folder, you spun around to see crowds of students rush past you with their bulging bags and multiple books in their hands. you risked a peek at the spot where lisa was standing at, somehow longing for the familiarity of her gaze. once again, your eyes met, but this time she broke it off.

you dreaded the classes with all your existence considering how yuju had texted you minutes ago about her absence from having to deal with some "preparations" for her cousin's wedding three towns away. you had texted her back along the lines of her abandoning you at the seemingly worst possible day of the week.  it wasn't like you didn't have any other friends but yuju seemed to be the most genuine and friendliest out of all of them. the first two periods were fine until the teacher had the audacity to group you up with haechan and his girlfriend, yeri for an english project. it wasn't like you disliked them but they were unfortunately one of the cheesiest and loudest couples who you have had the chance to come across in school and you never liked being a third wheel either.

lunch finally arrived. you shuffled through the hordes of people in the school's cafeteria, turning your head left and right for any sign of your girlfriend. you managed to spot jisoo, rośe and (unfortunately) lisa seated in their usual spot, immediately pacing towards them to avoid having to sit alone. it took you a minute before realising jennie was neither seated with them nor was she anywhere else in the cafeteria. your eyes flickered between the blank expressions on the girls' faces when you finally sat down beside jisoo, noticing how they immediately stopped talking and avoided eye contact with you.

"is something wrong? where is jennie?" you questioned, using the plastic fork to stab a piece of tteokbokki and stuffed it into your mouth. you winced as the overwhelming saltiness coated your tongue.

"um, jennie just left. she..." jisoo trailed off, making eye contact with the two other girls.

"she what? decided to ditch her girlfriend on their one year anniversary?" you grumbled out with an annoyed tone.

"oh i- um,she had to meet up with her friend behind the school."

you winced for the second time, not at the food but at the idea of your girlfriend alone with someone in an empty corridor. "who is that friend again?"

jisoo just shook her head, shrugging her shoulders before turning back to gobble down her plate of fried rice.

you didn't want to be here anymore. the overwhelming number of people in the cafeteria felt like it was closing in on you, were you overthinking things ? you were supposed to trust your partner right? was jennie with her "friend" from the party again?

you felt a hand placed on your right shoulder before you glanced up ahead at who the hand belonged to. you took notice of how lisa looked at you, it was exactly the way she looked at you the first time you both met after she gave you the popsicle after you fell to the ground during dance class. she cared about you.

you didn't like it at all, maybe because it all felt so unfamiliar. you haven't felt any emotion from your ex best friend since the day she started to break your relationship.

you stood up from your seat and sprinted your way out the hall, leaving you alone in the empty hallways.

unseen. unloved. unheard. unimportant. this was what you felt with jennie for the past few months.

you continued to wander around aimlessly around the corridors until you stop in front of the tinted sliding door of your homeroom. tilting your head to the side, you wondered why your feet decided to drag you here while you were daydreaming, causing you to grab one end and quietly slide the door open to see if there was anyone that was in the room right now. it was empty.

seated at your usual table at the back corner of the classroom, your eyes landed on the table in front of you. it was the exact same table as yours but instead it belonged to jennie. tears started blur your vision as you remembered how you and jennie would always come into this very classroom to sneak a kiss or two.

"hey,stop destroying my table!" was what you said when you found her using a permanent black marker to write your initials at the top right corner of your table. the smell of the ink made you frown. jennie just giggled before allowing you to admire her as she decorated the initials with hearts.

now, you were all alone. you missed jennie.

you didn't make the effort to wipe away the tears dripping down your cheeks, burying your face into your arms crossed on the table. before long, you had fallen into a deep slumber, unaware of the figure standing right at the door.

lisa sighs softly upon seeing your crumpled form on the table. yet even in your slumber, it's written all over your face, evident in the way tears were staining your rosy cheeks that you were shattered. she crouched down in front of you, her hands crumpled into fists.

you had trust jennie's comfort and safety around her; one jennie had so effortlessly crushed.
