Let’s talk about the The Last of Us season 2 fumble:

4. Trajectory for the next season’s release? TWO YEARS AWAY. Before I read that, my natural guess for best strategical presentation and hype was to release again in FALL 2025. But that would make too much sense. No, what would make more sense is to have season 2, part a and season 2, part b.

Who the hell is actually going to look forward to a show that has already fallen apart, two years from now?? Will they even move forward with filming with how bad the reviews are from fans? To be perfectly honest, I’m just happy that I can wash away the mediocrity by enjoying the game as much as I want. I'm definitely not holding my breath for a season 3 (which makes no sense because part 3 in the game-verse needs to be season 3. Somewhere, a perfectionist is crying).

Let’s talk about the The Last of Us season 2 fumble:

3. Beauty bias on TLOUS season 2? In Hollywood? Never. OR…

Why was Dina’s character outperforming Ellie’s? Ellie had her fair share of experience outside of Jackson and yet we never see in the show Ellie utilize her skills, just her immunity. Where was Ellie’s character development after witnessing Joel’s death? Why make it that Joel and Dina were close? Could this all occur subconsciously, swaying partiality towards society’s standard of beauty and acceptance and consequently leave Ellie and TLOUS’ overall story to rot? Possibly. (Exhausting.)

Let the "uggies" be smart, strong and capable too, damn. The world needs more role models to match how many fashion models there are out there.

Let’s talk about the The Last of Us season 2 fumble:

2. What's with all the changes to the original timeline? Somehow, they managed to take a story with great pacing and gravity and chopped it to mush. Season 2 was a dulled down, fast paced, cheapened experience put into a measly seven episodes that didn’t even give us hour long episodes consecutively. Don’t get me wrong, there were good additions to the story line but mainly, the changes this season SUBTRACTED from TLOUS2 and had me throwing my hands in the air helplessly.

The flashback for Abby and friends was way too early and unnecessarily encroached upon Ellie’s POV. Why move Tommy from his original position with Joel at the mansion? His wife could have taken lead of the defense in Jackson. Why not develop Dina and Ellie’s relationship during the blizzard? Why didn’t Tommy leave by himself for Seattle before Ellie? Tommy’s departure with Jesse makes Joel’s ex-military brother who is always ready to ACT come off as a bland, no name extra. And putting that sex scene in the theatre was out of pocket for the current mood and disorienting. Absolute shitema.

Let’s talk about the The Last of Us season 2 fumble:

The weight of what happened with season 2 has NOTHING to do with Ellie being portrayed by Bella or any of the actors cast for integral roles. But we all know people blame the failure of the show on Bella’s casting due to physical attributes (exhausting). Bella performed amazing accuracy where direction wasn’t obviously forced upon their portrayal. The Take On Me cover was beautiful. Also, there was that scene when Ellie wakes in the Jackson infirmary completely traumatized; that hit so hard, it was unnerving and captivating. The talent and coherence are palpable. I believe most of the fault lies with directing and writing. Writing lost the script and directing lost a penny and was looking for it during shooting.

ABC had this show for 3 minutes and now they are pulling a Georgie on us.

How nifty to come across and inspect the similarities of these two protagonists.

Dumbledore and the Third both did these two a disservice in their infancy.

Their infamous backstories isolated them from society.

Apparently teamwork in trios is integral to growth.

An uncontrollable connection with malicious antagonists (Kurama and Voldemort)

Stalker fangirls who later become their girlfriends.

Really cool godfathers who get taken away because fuck them in particular I guess idek.

Any other parallels that I might have missed?
