underappreciated moment in Superman (2025) is when Superman is like “Lex everything you are doing comes from being jealous of me” and Lex Luthor is like “uhhh yeah? Duh, everybody knows that”. No shame, just haterism. Amazing.

Love me a sympathetic and nuanced villain, but sometimes you just need a “writer cutting loose on every real world personality-type that they fucking hate and find completely irredeemable in the form of a fictional character” villain.

he is a cold blooded killer. he has pathetic tantrums and throws pens on the floor. he only wears black. he delivers a fantasically evil villain monologue. he cries pathetically when beaten. his motivation is not related to some tragic backstory, but is simply jealousy twisted into something so deplorably evil. he is bald.

this movie really is All That™️ and then some.

It’s wild to me to see transvestigator conspiracy theories online that could be so easily explained by natural human variation. That woman has a deep voice? Yeah, sometimes they do. A woman has broad shoulders?? Maybe she plays rugby or hits the gym a fuckton. There’s a “bulge” in her tight pants?? Maybe her vulva is just fat. All the “markers” of trans woman that transvestigators use to harass any woman aren’t even things unique to trans women.

in a comic book movie that's very comic booky, some might argue the most comic booky comic book movie of them all, i'd say the most comic booky line in all of superman is when lex threatens him by saying "i think i'll kill clark kent next" without knowing his secret identity. that line is straight out of the cartoons, i can easily hear clancy brown's lex say that

Going back to the TADC Pilot with the context of episodes 4 and 5, I love how basically every line of dialogue out of Ragatha’s mouth is telling you very unsubtly what her character flaws are, and how Pomni can’t help finding her aggressive positivity kind of offputting and inappropriate.

Ahhh, the shot of this random guy helping Superman stand up warms my heart.

One thing many modern superhero films miss out on, I feel is the Superhero's relationship to the random people they save. Many MCU films have escalated to the point of numbers so high its unthinkable- and they've lost that personal touch. Moments like this are a visual metaphor for what makes the hero keep fighting, keep going, keep standing up. There's a reason this scene from Spiderman II is one of my favorites ever.
