17 years later I finally got my chance to pay respects to all the lives lost this day. Waking up before the Sunrise to walk a few blocks to the World Trade Center and being able to say my peace I felt so relieved. Sorry it took so long. To see the resilience of the people of New York is a beautiful thing. Hearing stories from people who lived through this tragedy is unreal and inspiring. This weekend @stephspics10 and I ventured down to Salton Sea planning on exploring Salvation mountain. We took a last minute detour to Bombay Beach and so thankful we did. Never judge a book by its cover until you read the narrative inside. From the surface Bombay Beach looks deserted but as you drive in and walk around the streets you'll be surprised by how much life there is beneath the rubble of plaster and concrete. Artist from around the world have come together to breath new life into the area. We bumped into a long time resident named Ernie and he graciously gave us a tour of all the amazing art pieces and gave us context to each one.
