Chaper 2
It was a cloudy morning, as the cold morning air breezed through the town of Ithaca. Many people walking their own way, leaving a tavern from a long night of partying, still drunk, stumbling, as many people held onto the hands of their children while holding their tagari filled with many fruits or bread. As the young girl walked down the streets wearing her cloak, she managed to blend in within the crowd to not have any attention drawn to her. She had her head down, walking past many people going on about their day. Her eyes looked around, til her gaze landed on a stall. The stall had many fruits and vegetables, meat, and bread. The young girl hugged her stomach as she stared at the stall as it ached. Soon, without any hesitation, she made her way to the stall, her eyes gazing on the meat behind the person running the stall. She frowned a bit, not seeing a way to sneak by him. ‘Thats okay… Maybe… if i can grab just one piece of bread, than i'll be fine, just something… anything’ her thoughts running through her head as she stared at the many food items on the stall.
“What can i do for ya? Anything caught your eye?” A voice asked as they snapped the young girl out of her thoughts, she kind of looked up but not too much to show her face. She slowly nods her head no hopping he'd leave. “Ah, figured, well, if you ain't gonna buy anything, then please step back, we already have enough theives wandering around here” The man said with a bit of judgment lingering in his voice as he looked the cloaked girl up an down. The girl nods her head as she turned around. ‘Shoot… was he suspicious? Ah…’ she sighs, she could feel her stomach began to ache more. ‘Come now… where else can i eat something…’ She thought to herself, soon she looked up at the sky, the coulds still covered they sky, grey and cold, as if Zeus was threatening to unleash the faucet to allow the clouds to weep. ‘Artemis… please… help me’ She sighed closing her eyes bringing her head down, her head low.
The goddess of the wilderness words echoed into her mind from their conversation last night.
‘I cannot always pamper you’
She knew she was right. After all, she's 15, she is already passed the age of where, normally, girls her age would be married off to some guy…
The thought of being married made her skin crawl.
‘Marriage… what a joke’ she sighed. ‘Every single boy in the world is just alike… taking what's not theirs, prideful, and no ounce of kindness nor love within those eyes…just like him’ her eyes looked around the public as she walked away from the stall, ‘it's a concept that chains you down to a man who thinks they own you… How can the goddess of marriage defend that concept when she herself is stuck to a man who is unfaithful..’ The girl wondered as she watched as many couples would walk by, some looked happy, some looked… afraid… mainly the women looked afraid.
The young girl's eyes narrowed as she would stop seeing how… frightened a woman would look next to a man with a cocky grin, with his eyes filled with pride… no ounce of love for his supposed lover. Her heart ached for the woman as her gaze softened, her body threatening to move to her. However, she held on to the ounce of control she had, she watched as the couple walked by her, seeing the couple… gave her too many memories that made her body ache, and her heart rage as her gaze went back to the man.
The older gentlemen saw her gaze, he puffed up his chest as if to threaten her as his prideful smile fell glaring back at her, though they continued to walk.
‘Boys… they disgust me…’ her glare grew sharper, soon the couple was long gone from her sight. Soon the word ‘boy’ echoed through her mind.
‘Boy?...boy… BOY!’ Her eyes lighten up. ‘The apple tree from last night! How could I forget!’ She quickly ran, running between the buildings as she made her way into the forest.

“Watch your tongue boy” a grown man's voice hissed, looking down to a smaller one. “Antinous please, he's only a child” an older maid said in a gentle tone, she was in between the two, protecting Telemachus. “Someone needs to teach this kid some manners” he hissed. The young prince, Telemachus whipped his nose as his glare sharpened at the man, Antinous clicked his tongue. “Better watch how you look at me kid, you're lucky you are the queens son… or else you'd be dead” Antinous smirked as many of the suitors that were around chuckled. Telemachus narrowed his eyes. “Hey… maybe if you were a good little pup and let us enter your tramp of mother door and allow us to have our fun, than maybe we'd think twice about ever harming you” Antinous licked his lips as many suitors laughed. This made Telemachus blood boil as he was about to attack Antinous but the older maid held Telemachus back. “DON’T YOU DARE SPEAK ABOUT HER IN THAT MANNER YOU-” Before Telemachus could finish, the older hand maiden spoke up. “Come now, your majesty, let's go get you cleaned up” the maid said gently as she turned Telemachus around as she gently guided him away from the suitors. Telemachus huffed as he turned his head slightly to the Suitors.“Yea, run along now, little pup” Antinous mocked, making Telemachus clench his fist tightly, making his finger slightly turn white. Though he followed the maid as he held his hand to his nose.
Soon, the maid lead him to his own chambers as she handed him a warm wet cloth for him to hold onto his nose. “Young prince, you mustn't cause a scene, you'll bring your mother too much stress than she already has” The maid said as she helped clean the blood from his nose and hand.
“Eurycleia… I did my best to keep calm… but-”
“No buts” the maid, Eurycleia says as she sighs, shaking her head. “Listen, I know their comments about the queen are.. “
“Absolute gross and degrading to my mother?” Telemachus asked to cut off Eurycleia with his tone harsh as he rolled his eyes. “Yes… but you mustn't let it get to you-” Eurycleia says as she sighs. “But it's infuriating! Not only do they speak about my mother like she is some trophy to be won. They ram, shak this place, and make a mess having no care!” Telemachus fummed as he begans to rant about the suitors' presences.
“You’re as stubborn as your father… Honestly, at least your father managed to control his rage at your age” Eurycleia says as she gives a gentle chuckle. Telemachus' eyes lit up hearing his father being mentioned. “You think.. I'm like my father?” Telemachus asked curiously. Eurycleia nods her head. “Why of course, you are much more like him than you think young one” Eurycleia smiles softly as she slowly stands up straight, careful to not hurt herself
“How so?” Telemachus asked as he slowly moved the cloth from his nose. Eurycleia sighs as she moves his hand back to his nose. “For starters, you both love getting into some sort of trouble” Eurycleia sighs, shaking her head.
“Secondly, you're very much intelligent and cunning just like your father” Eurycleia continued, til her smile transformed into a grin. “And you are both are very much handsome, you have his facial structure when he was your age” She lightly chuckled. Telemachus chuckles lightly at the old maid. “Thanks… Eurycleia” Telemachus smiles softly, his gaze becoming grateful,6 as if to tell her how grateful he was to have her. Eurycleia smiles softly. “Now, now, don't get too sensitive on me” She lightly chuckled.
“By the way, where were you the night before?” Eurycleia asked as she goes to sit on the bed next to Telemachus. “Oh, well, i was out on a walk, mother wanted me to get my mind off of things” Telemachus sighs as he sniffles, he removed the cloth from his nose to check how much blood he lost. Eurycleia chuckles as she shook her head, she then guided his hand with the cloth back to his nose. “Really? It was quite late for you to be out”
“Yeah well… if it weren't for those scum of the earth… I wouldn't have gone out so late…” Telemachus huffed as he glared to the side of the room away from Eurycleia. “Ah yes…Their parties and their… activities… are quite… tired sum, but as a prince, you have other duties to worry about” Eurycleia says with a gentle tone as her eyes soften. Telemachus' eyes soften as he looks down at his laps. “Maybe, what your mother meant by letting your mind wander, is maybe focus on your studies, and fill in for your father with meetings and such” Eurycleia would say with a gentle smile. Telemachus smiles a little and looks up at Eurycleia, “maybe…” Telemachus says as his mind wanders off into his thoughts.
Eurycleia then stood up from the bed and began to walk over to the door.“Now, please do your best to stay away from your mothers suitors, i'm too frail to keep protecting you like this boy” Eurycleia jokingly says, making Telemachus chuckle along. “Okay…”
As Eurycleia left his chambers, Telemachus sighed as he removed the cloth from his face, he didn’t feel any more blood coming from it, he placed the cloth on his bed and laid back as he looked at the ceiling. ‘How will I be able to keep my mother safe… if I can't even fight back?’ Telemachus asked himself as his gaze shifted from wondering to worry. ‘On top of that… how will I ever live up to everyones expectations to fill in fathers role when he's away?’
He tossed to the side laying on it staring at his pillows then to the otherside to the wall with a window looking out, the sky was dark, as the clouds threatened to cry. He sighs as he gets up and walks over to the window as he sits on the windowsill. “...where are you?” He mumbled under his breath as he continued to look out the window. He has the perfect view of the ocean, and of the garden that leads to the forest on the side. His gaze lingered at the ocean for a moment longer. “...how much longer will you keep us waiting?” Telemachus asked, as if he was talking to someone… though there was no response. Soon he saw an owl fly by his window… a familiar owl… “an owl?... during the mid day?” He asked himself as he watched the owl fly into the forest. At first he didn't think much of it, he shrugs, before his gaze left the forest, a thought echoed in his mind. “...I wonder…” he mumbles under his breath. Soon Telemachus got on his feet and left his chambers, running down the halls. There were a few times he almost knocked into some of the servants, but luckily he missed them. He ran into the garden to get to the forest managing to avoid any contact from the suitors.
***
Telemachus spent 20 minutes in the forest looking for that same owl. “Where did you go?” He asked as if he was going to get an answer. “...last time, you went… this way” Telemachus mumbled as he followed his steps, going through the bushes, retracing his steps from the night before. Soon stumbling upon the apple tree he saw before last night again. He looked around the area, continuing his search for the owl. “Hello!... is anyone there?” Telemachus shouted. But there was no answer.
Telemachus' gaze landed on the familiar apple tree. It was night time the last time he saw it, even though the clouds covered the sun, it wasn't quite as dark. He walks closer to the tree as he runs his fingers across the oak. His eyes observed the colors of the wood, and the green leaves blew wherever the breeze was came. The scent of the sweetness the apples gave. It was quite… relaxing to say the least. He then leaned his back against the tree, sighing. His mind wandered off once more as he looked up at the leaves and the apples on the tree. His thoughts went back to the suitors, to his mother, then to his father he never met. The suitor's words echoed through his mind like an unwanted fly buzzing around. Like the plague he cannot seem to get rid of.
Before Telemachus could begin his monologue, the leaves rustled from the trees snapping Telemachus out of his thoughts, there weren't any strong winds, not that Telemachus could feel. Telemachus narrowed his eyes trying to see what was up in the tree, and soon, an apple fell on his head. “Ow..” Telemachus winced as he rubbed his head, soon when he looked up, his eyes widened as he held his arms out. Soon catching a person falling from the tree.
“Woah, are you okay?” He asked with concern in his voice. However it changed when he recognized the face… how could he forget.
“Woah… oh! Thanks for catching me” ___ says as she holds a few apples in her arms. The girl didn't notice who caught her, but what she did pay attention, was taking a bite of an apple she had.
Telemachus' eyes widened. “___?” Telemachus asked, the name that left the boy's lips sounded as if he remembered his name finally and he was quite speechless. What were the chances of running into the same person near a tree from the night before so soon? The girl's eyes widened as she quickly looked up at Telemachus. “Oh… it's you…” the girl's voice grew a bit bitter as she rolled her eyes. Telemachus soon put her down as the girl took another bite from her apple as she stood up straight, her cloak was over her body but her hood was off her head revealing her slick hair and her beautiful eyes. “Not so fond of me… are you?” Telemachus asked with a small bitter chuckle. She's pretty, but the way she talks to him is something he might not get used to…right?
“Would you be happy to see someone who's the reason they didn't have dinner last night?” The girl asked as she glared at the boy. Telemachus sighs as he rubs the back of his head. “Listen, it was an accident, i wasn't expecting to see anyone out here late at night” Telemachus sighs, “not to mention, i wasn't expecting anyone to be hunting at night” Telemachus added. Soon his eyes landed on a bunch of apples the girl picked from the apple tree.
The girl saw his gaze, and looked down where his gaze landed on. Soon the girl gave a sharp glare to Telemachus as she was a bit in a defensive mode. “What? Wanna take my breakfast too?” she snapped a little with her town in a low growl.
“What? No!” Telemachus shook his head. “And you should be careful how you speak to people!” Telemachus finally snapped as he placed his hands on his hips. The girl gave Telemachus a blank stare looking him up and down. “What?” Telemachus asked a bit hesitant with her stare.
“You? Giving me a lecture? To someone who you hardly know, about the way I speak to people?” She asked with a mockery tone. Telemachus sighed as his annoyance started to grow a little bit. Though, he couldn’t help but chuckle at her bluntness. “What's so funny?” She asked with a glare. “Oh, nothing” Telemachus responds with a slight smirk shaking his head.
“As a little boy, you sure know how to press buttons,” the girl says. “But then again, I guess every boy does…,” she bluntly said as she took a bite of her apple. “And you have a nasty attitude…” Telemachus sighs. “And little? Excuse you, I'll let you know that I'm 15 years old!” Telemachus says as he points to himself. “15? You look 12” She says with a slightly mockery chuckle irking the poor boy.
“You look a bit scrawny… and weak” she bluntly states as she finishes her apple. “I doubt you can hold a sword, let alone fight your battle” she added as she tossed the core of the apple to Telemachus. Telemachus almost dropped it but caught it, he looked up at the girl with an annoyed look on his face. “I can, as a matter of fact, hold a sword!”
“But can you use it?” She asked with an eyebrow raised. “I'm sorry, but a lady who can barely shoot a bow shouldn't be talking about how one can handle using a sword” Telemachus says, crossing his arms watching as the girl eats another apple. He raises a brow as he looks at the apple and up at the tree then back at where the path of the palace is at.
“Did you pick those from this tree?” Telemachus asked
“I did… why?” ____(your name here(chat if i read this i'd start getting triggered too-)) asked in a cautious way. Clearly she wasn't taking him seriously. Telemachus thought carefully on what to say next.
“You know…” Telemachus began as he slowly walked up to _____ as he took an apple from her arms and placed the core with the bunch. The girl growled a little as she took a step back. “This tree is on the property of the royal family of Ithaca …” Telemachus casually says as he cleans the apple on his tunic.
“So? It's not like they pay any mind, especially not when their palace has many suitors whom they are preoccupied with.” ____ bluntly states. “That's true… however, if they were to find out… you do know you could get in trouble for trespassing and taking from the royal family” Telemachus states. ____ tense up a bit, her grip on the apples tightens as her mockery look turns into a sharp glare once more. “Oh? And you plan to tell on me?” ____ asked with a hiss in her voice. Telemachus didn't say a word as he walked over to the tree and leaned on it taking a bite from the apple.
“You expect me to believe anyone would believe you? Please, you're as guilty as I am” ____ states. Telemachus paused for a moment. ‘Wait…does she not know who I am?’ Telemachus thought for a moment, maybe, this was his chance. A chance for what?
An escape? What if this is what his mother meant by letting his mind wander somewhere else, to forget about the suitors. Telemachus smirked and shook his head. “Yes.. you're right, I am as guilty for standing here” Telemachus laughs a little.
____ couldn't help but grin, as if she won the argument. “You know, I have a feeling we're gonna run into each other quite often” Telemachus begins as he sits down under the apple tree. He pats the spot next to him, as if he's asking her to sit next to him. “How about we get to know one another and become friends” Telemachus gave her a smile. ____ was quite stunned, she wasn't expecting him to be so…nice?
Boys aren't usually as kind as him, most would get furious when she blatantly speaks in a tone that disrespects them. ____ hesitates for a moment, but then she does go and sit next to Telemachus, she was a few inches away from him to keep distance but she does places her apples down on the ground.
“...so, I never got your name… i only know you as the guy who messed up my shot” ____ say with a hesitant, confused, and curious look. Telemachus couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle leading to a gentle smile, sensing the discomfort from the girl. “My name is Telemachus”
“Telemachus…” ____ repeated as if she was trying to mesmerize the name. “Well Telemachus, I hope next time, you pay attention to your surroundings so next time i don't accidentally almost kill you” the girl chuckles, making Telemachus roll his eyes.
Soon they both began talking to one another, there was playful banter and such between the two, as their dislike for one another turned into a sweeter taste. “No way, your father left for war before you could remember him?” ____ asked as she tilted her head. “Wow, you must have been more of a pain for your father” she laughs making Telemachus sigh but lightly chuckle. “Oh hush” Telemachus chuckles. He then looked over to see her finish eating the last of the apples she had picked. “Though… I suppose your father going to war is a very noble thing for him to do…” ____ smiles softly as she looks down at the core of the apple before tossing it. “What about you?” Telemachus asked curiously.
“Me?” ____ asked, she was a bit hesitant as she turned her head to the curious look of the boy. “yeah…where are your parents?” Telemachus asked, tilting his head with interest. “Now that I think about it, yeah, where are they? Aren't you supposed to be helping your mother or father with anything” Telemachus asked. The girl hesitated to speak as she looked down at the floor once more leaning her back against the apple tree. “My parents…” ____ mumbled a bit, trying to gather on what to say next. It was silent, Telemachus' interest grew more as he leaned in to listen.
Before a moment longer
“Their dead…” ____ bluntly says. Telemachus' eyes widened as he moved back, but soon he frowned a bit, feeling empathy for her. “I'm… sorry to hear”
“Don’t be” the girl plainly says with a smile. “I've grown used to living alone”
“Where do you live?” Telemachus asked as he raised a brow. “Woah buddy, we aren't close friends yet” ____laughed as Telemachus sighs rolling his eyes.
“Ha ha, very funny” Telemachus smirked a bit. Soon a loud thunderous sound came scaring the two. “By the Zues up above, what has angered him?” ____ hissed a bit as she looked up at the sky, it was still cloudy threatening rain.
“I should be heading back” Telemachus sighs as he also looks up. “What? Scared of thunder?” ____ teased. Telemachus laughed rolling his eyes. “No! Why would I be scared?” Telemachus asked. “I'll have you know, I'm scared of nothing” Telemachus playfully says as he puts his hand on his chest.
“Whatever you say” ____ says.
“Well, if I want to be some sort of legend, I shouldn't be afraid of anything” Telemachus says in a matter of fact way making the girl roll her eyes. “Really? Not even a cyclops or a hydra?” ____ asked as she raised a brow. “Nope!” Telemachus laughs a little as ____ had a small smirk on her face.
The girl watched as Telemachus stood up as he dusted himself off, ____ couldn't help but her smile becoming soft…
“So… I assume you'll be back here?” Telemachus asked as he looked over to the girl. “Perhaps…why?” She asked as she stood up. “Hm… lets meet here once more” Telemachus says with enthusiasm. “Tomorrow! When the sun reaches the very top of the earth” Telemachus says with a smile on his face. “Why would you want see me again?” ____ asked tilting her head. Telemachus looks at the girl, her eyes revealing the shock and curiosity. In her eyes, looked pained and alone, and Telemachus felt sympathy for the girl.
“Well… I was hoping that since we get along now… we could be friends?” Telemachus sheepishly says as he smiles nervously, scratching his chin a bit as his gaze looks away from ____. The girl froze, as if he spoke an unknown language to her. “Friends?” ____ whispers as she tilts her head. “you…you seriously want to be my friend?” ____ asked, her eyes widened a bit as she pointed at herself. Telemachus nodded his head, confirming her question. “I…I never…”
“It's okay!” Telemachus cuts her off. “I never had a friend either!…well besides my dog” Telemachus chuckles a little. There was a long pause, which made Telemachus worry a bit. Soon, the girl smiled softly as her gaze was gentle, Telemachus' eyes widened a bit. He never really expected her attitude to change all of a sudden to a gentle one…
“Okay… I'll meet you here tomorrow then” ____ says with a big smile on her face. The breeze flew by hitting the two, Telemachus couldn't help but smile as well
‘We were both 15 when we met….’
‘If only I knew… that was the day things started to change…’

Romans 8:38-39
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."
No one can separate us from Gods love! John 3:16 explains how God loved the world.
How? Well, he sent His one and only son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross, to suffer a criminals death, because He loves you and wants to be able to have relationship (like a friendship or a father like child relationship) with you!
We were supposed to live in a world full of peace, love, fulfillment, Joy, just, basically living in His presence. However, when Sin came in, sin began to separate us from God. Not from His love, but from his presence. When the first humans ate from the tree of knowledge, that's when our mind discovered the knowledge of good and evil. We were never designed to crave fleshly desires like addiction, lust, etc. We were never designed to have depression or anxiety.
Many aren't fans, and i understand, Many of you have dealt with religious Christians who were legalistic and use God against you ot used Him as a weapon to you, condemning you. However, thats isn't Gods love, God isn't the type to condem you, nonono, He'll correct you like a father if you have the HolySpirit but he will never condem you (John 8:1-11) Jesus loves you regardless and has been waiting for you to turn your life around and walk with him and give your life to Him. He's knocking at the door. He's a gentleman. He aint gonna force anything, He's not gonna force you to give your life to Him. No, he's just going to wait until you decide to open that door and allow Him in.

Because God's spirit lives within you, it doesn't guarantee His power is at work in your life. Gods power is available, but you must plug into it. Jesus associates our spiritual life with a vine and its branches: "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in jim, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing (v.5 NKJV) in this comparison, the branch is completely dependeny on the main vine; it cannot yield fruit on its own. Growing fruit is an internal job. If someone tied appels onto the branches of a dead tree and said, "Look a fruit at this fruit tree," what would you say? You would probably say, "You tied those things on." That's similar when a christan says, "i'm going to tie a bunch of fruit in my life - a little patience now a little goodness later a little self-control at another time. I will do it by myself. " Impossible! It's the fruit of the spirit, not the efforts of the flesh. Jesus said, "Who abides in me, and I and him Bears much fruit." How can you tell you're abiding (or residing)in christ? Consider your prayer life. Your prayers reveal your dependence on God. What do you pray about? Whatever you pray about is what you're relying on God for the Bible says, " (1 Th 5:17 NLT) pray about your decisions, needs, trmptations, interest, plans? scheduled, problems, purchases; specifically, praying about everything. Doing this is what it means to "abide"- being aware that God is always with you practicing his presence.

Chapter 1
It's been 16 years since the king of Ithaca and his crew left for war. A young boy walked down the halls, doing his best to avoid the suitors who've been lingering around the palace for 5 years now. Hearing their laughter and crewed comments about his mother. How they made him sick, no matter how hard he tried to kick all of them out of the palace, they would all scoff and laugh, not taking the young prince seriously. Being mocked and shamed, it's no surprise at how many servants have to intervene to stop a fight, breaking out between a grown man and a 15 year old boy.
Luckily for him, his mother, whenever he gets the chance to visit her, she'd always teach him how to have self-control, how to be calm and avoid any altercation between those suitors and himself.
Today was no different, after visiting his mother, queen Penelope, she had one simple task for her son.
“Telemachus, even a prince must endure patience and keep it as a virtue– it's what strengths you and guides you through many trials in life” Penelope would say as she would brush a strand of his curls to his ear, even though it would come back to haunt his face.
“I know mother… but those… waste of space swarm the palace like the plague!” Telemachus huffs as Penelope chuckles lightly. “How about this, you go out, let your mind wander off somewhere else, pay no mind, know that one day, your father will return and will fix protect us” Penelope says as she cups his cheeks and kisses her son's forehead. Making Telemachus sigh reluctantly but chuckle lightly. “Alright mother, will you be fine on your own?” He asked looking up at his mother, his blue eyes staring into her browns as she smiled lightly.
“Yes, pay no mind to me, I will still be here… weaving the shroud” Penelope says as her smile weakens. Telemachus continued to stare into his mother's eyes, seeing the sadness and the longing for his father's return. Telemachus then gave his mother a hug as she returned the hug. “Alright… I love you mother” Telemachus says as he gives her one last tight hug, making Penelope chuckle. “I love you too, my son” Penelope smiles softly, letting her son go. Telemachus stood up from her bed and left her chambers.
Leading to the present day. It was cold out, and dark, the night filled the sky as the moon lit the palace with its soft light glow, the suitors were partying without a care in the world. While in Penelope's chambers, from where the young prince was standing, the lights were off.
Telemachus walked through the garden from the palace, making his way to the forest. He looked back to the palace, as his eyes filled with worry and sadness for his mother, but took a deep breath, knowing, argos will take good care and protect her chambers and so he turned to face the forest and continued to walk.
Walking into the forest, Telemachus wondered if it was even a good idea to continue to walk through the forest in the middle of the night. Though his mothers words ‘let your mind wander someplace else’.
The forest was dark, but the only light source that helped the young man see was the moon. His eyes lingered on the moon for a moment as he heard the leaves rustle following the calm breeze smelling the scent of forest. Soon, he saw an owl fly over his head, his eyes widing. ‘Woah’ he thought to himself. As the owl hoot, Telemachus could help but move as he began to follow it, his body moving on his own.
He ran through the bushes as where the owl was going, as if the owl was leading the young boy to some place, his gaze left the owl as he saw a big apple tree, as a deer was under it eating an apple that fell from the tree, he slowly stopped his run as his gaze was mesmerizing the creature. ‘What a particular fella’ Telemachus says as he slowly walks up to the deer. The deer’s head slowly lifted up as Telemachus stepped on a twig. It snapped in half, making the deer’s head look around. It saw Telemachus, and it quickly ran away. Telemachus watched as the fawn ran away. Soon, the owl from before flew towards Telemachus, getting close to his face, making Telemachus fall back. Soon, an Arrow flies by his face as it hits a tree. The prince fell on the ground as the Owl flew away. “Ow…” Telemachus says, Oblivious to the arrow stuck on the tree, he looks behind him to see the Owl fly away. Soon, his eyes landed on the arrow that was just above his head, his eyes widening. “What in the world just happened?” He asked as his eyes darted to the dark part of the forest. He couldn’t see anything. The glow from the moon did not shine through that part of the forest. “Hello? Is anyone out there” Telemachus called out as he stood up from the ground, then looked back at the bow, pulling it off the tree. Soon, he heard rustling in the trees. His eyes darted to the tree tops, looking for any signs of life.
Soon, something… or someone fell from the tree top landing on the floor on her back. “Ow!” A feminine voice yelped. The person before Telemachus wore a clock, with a quiver beside her with a gently carved bow designed to look like a tree with a moon carved into it. “Woah! Are you alright?” Telemachus asked as his tone was woven into a worry one. He knelt down beside the person, he couldn’t quite see the face of the person who fell. “I’m fine” The person says as they sit up rubbing her back. Before Telemachus could say a word, the person looked over to Telemachus, finally being able to see who she was. Her eyes were the color that could sing a precious song to his soul as he looked into them, bits of her hair made of silk with a few accessories on them. Her skin is fair as they match the roseyness of her cheeks. He was lost in admiration, he couldn’t help but feel his heart beat. However, that changed…
“Way to go, thanks to you, I lost my meal!” The lady huffs as her glare grows sharper, her tone harsh. Telemachus was snapped back to reality raising his brow as his eyes widened a bit. “Excuse me? How was it that I was supposed to know you were out hunting in the middle of the night?” Telemachus asked in a defensive tone “Let alone, I wasn’t expecting anyone to be out here!”Telemachus continued, “On the contrary, you almost killed me well!” Telemachus added as he pointed the arrow he had in his hand to the girl. The girl made a tsk sound rolling her eyes “well, next time, don't get in the way, and you do realize there is such a thing called night hunters” she spat back snatching the arrow from his hand, as she turned away from Telemachus and grabbed her bows and quiver, she looked inside and saw many arrows were broken in half. She cursed under her breath. Telemachus just stared at the lady, she was pretty, but her attitude towards him was bitter and cold. The young prince sighed. “Why on earth are you out here in the middle of the night? You know it's dangerous to wander alone, especially for a young lady like yourself” Telemachus began to speak athe young woman closed her quiver giving the young boy a glare that could kill if they were to be able to do so. “As a young lady, I find it awfully rude you assume I can’t handle myself!” The lady says as her tone grows in defense pointing the arrow to his throat. “I did not say that!” telemachus says as he pushes the point of the arrow away from his throat.
“Well you implied it! Has your mother never taught you manners?” The young girl asked. “I could ask you the same thing” Telemachus says, his tone growing in annoyance. ‘What is her deal? I only just met her and she is being awfully rude,’ Telemachus thought to himself as he stood up from the floor. He watched as the young lady began to put the only remaining arrow in her quiver, putting it over her shoulder, and she did the same with the bow. Telemachus' eyes widened a bit as she took the hood of her cloak off her head, she looked up to the moon, shining its light on them both. The light of the moon reflected through her eyes, leaving the world to wonder…who is she? The girl looked to the side seeinging the way Telemachus looked at her. She made a tsk sound. “What?” She snapped. ‘Despite the looks… her personality doesn’t reflect that great…’ Telemachus thought to himself. “Nothing…” Telemachus muttered looking away from the girl. “Not that I care, but what are you doing out here?” The girl asked as she looked down at her bow, stretching it out as if to see if it still worked. “I was just out on a midnight stroll…” Telemachus replied. “Just to get my mind off of things…” Telemachus said as he looked down at the ground. The memories of the suitors lingering around the halls of his home, made him curl his hands into a fist. Soon, a loud groan came from the lady, he looked up and saw how her shoulders were slouched and how she rolled her eyes. Safe to say, he was taken aback. “Please, if you’re gonna speak about your problems to a stranger, then I suggest not and going on your merry way, I have much more important things to do than listen to a boy whine about his fortunate life” the girl bluntly says as she stands up straight, turning her back towards him. “Oh? And what is so important that you don’t even bother to tell me your name?” Telemachus asked as he crossed his arms, raising a brow. The young lady stopped as she slightly turned her head. “Why does my name concern you?” she asked. “I just wanna put a name to the face” Telemachus responds, his tone shifting from annoyance to a gentler one. The girl stayed quiet for a few moments, not speaking, as if she was debating if she should. “Or, if you wanna stay a mystery-”
“____” she spoke as she turned away. “____…” Telemachus spoke in a gentle tone. “Not that it matters, no chance we’ll ever meet again, good day…or night” she spoke as she turned away and began to walk away. Her name lingered in his head, how can someone with a beautiful name have such a nasty attitude?
***
As she removed her cloak, she made her way to a nearby shak made from grass, leaves, and branches. A hut she lived in, living by a nearby small pond, she tossed her cloak to the side outside the shak. She crawled in her hut as she laid her head on a bed made up of old cloth and grass with dead leaves. Soon, a deer came walking towards the hut. A beautiful white fawn, with blue eyes reflecting the moon lite sky. Soon, a bright glow came from the deer as they turned into a tall woman who wore a peplos with a chiton over it as her hair was white as the moon and her eyes grey as the stars dim. Her hair was done in a braid as she wore a crown made of leaves.
“Artemis!” The girl smiled warmly as she stared at the women. The goddess of the moon, a huntress in the night. She sat at the entrance of the hut as if to say she would protect the girl as she slept, giving her a warm gentle smile. “Were you able to find anything?” Artemis asked. The girl sighed as she shook her head looking down at her lap. “I haven't… well i did but this stupid boy got in my way!” She huffs crossing her arm as she laid on her back staring at the leaves, grass, and branches on the hut. It looked like the water from the past rain had damaged it, making her click her tongue. “Oh? And this isn't an excuse for your failure?” Artemis asked curiously, no shame in her tone, just curious. “Well… no, I'm being honest! I was as quiet as a hummingbird, slow and steady like a wolf hunting for its prey! But out of nowhere the boy stepped on a twig, scaring away the creature!” She began to ramble on. “Men…Boys… Males… they are all so clueless… idiotic to say the least! All of them!” She spat. Artemis lightly chuckles, the girl looked over to the chuckling goddess raising a brow. “Artemis?...”
“My apologies, ____, it's just, when you're hungry, you tend to go on an on, rambling to say the least” Artemis says, she looked at the girl who pouted a bit. “Well… i wouldn't have been in such a bad mood if it weren't for that boy…” the girl mumbled under her breath. “Rest, you've had a long night…” Artemis says. “Are you at least gonna provide something for me to eat?” The girl asked as she turned her head towards Artemis. Artemis shook her head. “I'm sorry, but i cannot always pamper you, you need to learn how to survive on your own…” Artemis sighs. “Then what am i-”
Before she could finish her sentence, within a blink of an eye, Artemis vanished into thin air, leaving a trail of small sparkles that can be mistaken as mini stars. The girl quickly sat up, she tried to grab onto the small particles, however every time she tried to grab them, they'd disappear. The girl frowned, as she sat there, hearing the small rustles from the bushes from small critters, and the light breeze that flowed by. As the water ran through its streams. The night danced with the moonlight, however, soon the clouds came in and hid the light that the moon gave. She brought her knees up to her chest as she buried her head into hit, lightly banging her head onto her knees. ‘Think… Think… there must be a solution…’ the girl whispers to herself… Soon her face looked up from her knees, she stared directly into the night, no light to ve found, but a few yellow lights coming from a town.
‘...maybe… just maybe…’
