Bold of you to assume Beholding fits into your puny mortal ideas of gender, the Ceaseless Watcher has all the genders
kinda gay to be the ceaseless watcher. what are you watching? other men?

Mate, thank you so much, I don't even plan to write anything about him he's just my favorite hero and it's really hard to research him
Diomedes - Sources and Research Doc
Realized that some of the links were still restricted to view, so I fixed those now! ALL papers should be accessible freely now (without needing to sent a request) I also added a few things like: 1. Maps in the mythic and historical world of ancient greece 2. Links to Depictions of Diomedes in ancient art 3. More papers! I added another 8 or so 4. A Family Tree!
Should you notice any more links or pdfs that dont work as they should /don't have free access please notify me so I fix it asap!

Let’s get one thing clear
Dystopian novels are rarely meant to be a prediction of the future, they are more often than not meant to over exaggerate something the author thinks is wrong in our society right now. Dystopias are often the author’s idea of a worst case scenario, not a warning. If we are living even anywhere close to a fictional dystopian world, this is the worst case scenario.

To all Epic Fans who have not read the source material
PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT THE ODYSSEY LIKE YOU HAVE READ IT! Adaptations are great but not a single one properly keeps the same soul and values of the story because adaptations reflect the values of the time they were written let alone the metaphors and plot points.
EPIC Odysseus is what we would modernly call a Hero, he’s faithful to his wife, he’s witty but not cruel, he stands up in battle and “plays fair”, he feels visual remorse for his actions.
Myth Odysseus on the other hand would objectively be seen in modern day as a bad person, he cheats on his wife, he’s gets a man killed just because he was smarter, he uses trickery and words to win battles, he is vicious and cruel. He is what ancient people viewed as a good Hero, to them a good Hero didn’t have to be a virtuous person.
These stories are so different so please stop sighting the Odyssey in your debates about if Calypso is a good person (I also don’t think we should be comparing these stories at all bc they’re both so different but I digress).
And please for the love of the gods, Polyphemus was not a child in any iteration of the Odyssey.
One more thing before you go, the metaphors in EPIC are different from the metaphors in the Odyssey, and EPIC frames Odysseus as a victim to the wrath of the gods where as The Odyssey frames him as a soldier getting retribution for what he did in the Trojan War

I think about the fact that there are writings by actual respected philosophers about Patrochiles a lot. Like good to know that scholars of the Iliad are currently doing what we've always been doing, arguing about doomed yaoi.

listen to your hearth not just the fire within her, she will sing to you if you listen close, she will sing of safety and light and family, she will sing of all the hearths your ancestors built, of the story’s they told around her. sing with her, you will feel loved
listen to the fire as well, he will sing to you, you need to listen close, he will sing of beauty and creativity, of conquest and hardships, he will sing to you, his voice the roar of flame, his beat the syncopated crackle of the wood, and his instruments the dainty tinkle of burning wood head only if you are listening very intently. dance with him, you will feel free

Imagine being forced to flee your home with your children in your arms, spending months in uncertainty, only to return and find everything you worked so hard to build reduced to rubble. In an instant, the life you worked so hard for is gone.

Images: (Top) Muhammad with his two young children: Suha (3 years old) and Zuhair (1.5 years old). (Bottom) The remnants of Muhammad's house, which was destroyed amidst the conflict of the last year.
Story by @rumiandroses
This is reality Muhammad Anwar Yahya Abu Zanad and his family.
Before the war, Muhammad was a hardworking laborer at a contracting company. He built a good life for his wife Salsabil, their young children Suha (3 years old) and Zuhair (1.5 years old), and his extended family—including his parents, Anwar and Suha, and his siblings, Malak, Laila, and Abdul Rahman. Muhammad provided for them all, ensuring they had a home filled with love and security.
Then, war came.
In November 2023, their neighborhood was given an immediate evacuation order. Muhammad and his family fled to Rafah, where they lived for six months in a tent at Al-Khwarizmi School. But even this refuge was taken from them when Rafah was also ordered to evacuate.
Returning to their home in Khan Yunis, they found it bombed and barely standing. With nowhere else to go, Muhammad did his best to patch together what remained, but the house is not safe. Gaps in the structure allow rats, insects, and stray animals to enter. The family lives in constant discomfort, exposed to the elements.
Muhammad has not been able to find work since the war began. He relies entirely on scarce aid, struggling to feed his family. Baby Zuhair needs formula, but prices have skyrocketed. His father suffers from high blood pressure, his mother from diabetes, yet medicine is nearly impossible to afford.
Your donation will help:
✅ Repair Muhammad’s home or, if needed, assist in evacuating the family to safety.
✅ Provide food for Muhammad's family and baby formula for Muhammad’s young child.
✅ Purchase necessary medication for Muhammad's parents.
✅ Ensure access to clean water, hygiene supplies, and basic necessities.
Muhammad is doing everything he can to protect his family, but circumstances outside of his control are making life more difficult by the day.
Your support—whether through a donation or simply sharing his story—can be the difference between survival and despair.
Let’s stand together, and show Muhammad and his family that they are not alone.
You can donate to Muhammad's Chuffed campaign [HERE].
Muhammad and his wife have sent photos of their identification to Gaza Giving Tree for identity verification. We're hoping to help them get vetted by other mutual aid organizations like @gazavetters.
This campaign is also VETTED BY ASSOCIATION! Muhammad is the brother of Hanan Al-Qazazz and the brother-in-law of Hossam Al-Qazzaz ( @bashar-qazaz / @hos-pal ), who HAVE been vetted by @gazavetters and is (#287) on their list of verified campaigns.

My name is Mahmoud Al-Halaq, from Palestine - Gaza - I am 29 years old. This message is addressed to every person who carries compassion, kindness, and love in their heart. After 470 days of war on Gaza, the destruction that has occurred, the displacement we have faced, moving from one place to another, and the loss and death of loved ones and friends, I found myself alone without a home or place, and even the prices of food are astronomical. The world has changed so much that life has become gloomy and boring. Therefore, I ask for your help in rebuilding myself, my life, and my family's life anew. You are our remaining hope in life. If there were an opportunity to work, I would not waste a minute nor ask for help from anyone, but I urgently need assistance for my family, my children, and the women to rebuild what has been destroyed and crushed in this devastating and painful war. Thank you for your time and support; we draw our strength and resilience from your support. 🍉
Please donate

Just got out of THUNDERBOLTS*
and it was surprisingly good (I’ll probably talk abt it more later) but right now I only have one thought swimming through my head “The Sambucky tab on ao3 is gonna have sooo much angst after this one”
Dw, nothing too serious happened but the girls are fighting behind the scenes. Also did anyone else notice the frankly insane amount of shots with Bucky’s bare arms out? Seems kinda fan-servicy
