It’s kinda hilarious to me how down with murder Merlin is. Like I feel like most shows, especially family shows, have the character at least be morally conflicted about killing. If not out right refusing to kill.

Merlin does not give two shits. He murks someone in the first episode, zero conflict. His body count must be at least in the thousands by the end of the show (considering he took out a whole army). But let’s not forget all the up close and personal murders he commits.

I recently rewatched the changeling, and in that episode in quick succession he kills Grunhilda, the Sidhe and then gives Gaius a look like “do I need to do everything myself?” And gives Elena the potion. ZERO fucks given, he is so unfazed. Merlin is always down for murder. It’s so funny.

And I support him lol.

I love that Arthur and Merlin are part of this huge prophecy. They are two halves of a whole, two sides of the same coin.

And then there is Gwaine who somehow managed to wiggle himself into this elite circle in the sluttiest way possible and rebranded them as strength, magic and courage

Arthur shook his head. He already knew that many magic folk expected Merlin to somehow free or save them, and the pressure of it had cut a swath of damage through the center of Merlin’s life. “It is unfair to place that on him. If anyone should bear the burden, it is me – I am the king. I hold responsibility for the wellbeing of my people. Not him.”

“And from where does that authority of yours come?” Bayard asked. “Is it not from some god? Is your kingship not a sacred right?”

“Yes, and Merlin is not a god! He does not bestow that.”

i’m so sorry there are way too many people who sympathize with arthur over merlin hiding his magic from him as if his FATHER wasn’t the direct cause of a mass genocide that was STILL ONGOING in the beginning and even when arthur wasn’t really enforcing it it was STILL COMPLELTLY LEGAL to kill him

and then some people are like “arthur always knew au” but they still keep everything the same so again because “he just wants merlin to trust him” but the issue with that is WHY WOULD MERLIN TRUST HIM WHEN HE DOESNT CHANGE THE LAWS
