I honestly have the feeling that 2016 (regardless of being a shit storm) just passed by like the wind. Or a hurricane if I have to be honest...  I just hope 2017 has more to offer

How To Drive Muscle Growth?
A lot of people are interested in developing an aesthetically pleasing and muscularly impressive physique that will force your enemies to stare in awe as the only thing they can do is to only admire your body.
A lot of online articles pay a ton of attention on proper training techniques and specific nutrition knowledge that is necessary in order for you to improve muscle hypotrophy and thus develop the body that Dwayne The Rock Johnson is rocking in the picture above.
While it is without doubt that both nutrition and your training are of severe importance to your results, they are not as fundamental as the majority of fitness gurus will make you believe.
There is element that everybody seem to forget to mention - hormones. Your hormones are the one and only thing that drive your muscles to grow. Nutrition and training play nothing more but a supportive role to your hormonal balance.
Your testosterone and GH (growth hormone) levels, alongside with insulin and thyroid hormone, are the two main hormones that will drive your muscle growth.
This is the main reason why professional, and non-professional bodybuilders and fitness experts who consume anabolic steroids are showing signs of increased testosterone production in their body. In other words, anabolic steroids legitimately boost testosterone production.
There are individuals who are with really good training schemes and impeccable diets and still are incapable of developing muscular bodies. Most often this can lead to loss of character and demotivation making the person involved with fitness to just drop the weights and give up.
I know because I was personally a victim of this case-scenario. My whole program was really good, I know because I had been working hard 2 years just developing my diet and my training, and even though I saw no impressive results in the mirror.
After I started digging deep and getting involved with developing my knowledge of hormones and how exactly do hormones influence our muscle growth. I came across that hormones (especially testosterone - the big T) are primarily responsible for facilitating your body’s ability to grow in muscle mass.
You know how everybody says that nutrition is 70% and training is 30% and how I say that they are 50/50, well the truth is that nutrition is 15% your training is 15% and the rest (70%) goes to your hormones.
Your hormones are not only responsible for muscle growth but for weight loss as well. There was a scientific study that lead to a conclusion that by increasing the overall T levels of individuals who where overweight, they were able of losing 5lbs of pure body fat in 12 months. I know that this does not sound impressive, but keep in mind that these 5lbs are without any form of exercise or diet involved, just increased testosterone levels.
There are of course natural ways of increasing testosterone levels. I recently wrote an article at THEBODYBUILDINGBLOG sharing 11 easy ways that will help you do exactly that. If you are interested in going beyond and increasing your muscularity then you might want to read the whole thing. It’s a pretty long read, but definitely worth the time!

THE TRUTH ABOUT MOTIVATION
I recently came across a very interesting article providing insight into the mind of the every-day human being. The article itself was about the troubles with motivation and why do we struggle with achieving proper motivation. I am not going to go into too much detail and explain everything to you but there were some very interesting statistics that really caught my eye.
The statistic show that people who do something for a reward seem to get similar activity in the brain as those who do it from sheer pleasure, for fun. I mean this is common sense, and it make total sense - if you are told that you will achieve something good if you put in the good work and dedication you are going to work hard for it.
The interesting bit was that if the same people who were initially offered the reward were to do the same form of activity but this time without the reward, they would show really low levels of motivation - again logical, no reward no motivation. It seams that reward may just cancel out our natural sense of ‘play’.
The reason why i am posting this is because I have been asked this question many times. “HOW DO YOU STAY MOTIVATED, EVEN AFTER 12 YEARS OF TRAINING AND PROPER NUTRITION, HOW?!”. I presume that the main reason why people seem to ask me this question is because I do not perceive a healthy lifestyle the same way as they do. True, I have a reward system installed in my mind set where I know that if I work hard on myself I will achieve a better health and a better lifestyle, a happier life overall.
But the main reason, or it least that is what I believe to be the main reason, why I am still motivated even after years of training with no monetary gains involved in the process is because, quite frankly, I enjoy this type of lifestyle. I enjoy working out, I enjoy eating the foods that I eat, I enjoy being active and eating healthy. What I am trying to say is that with the proper mindset and perspective you can easily achieve a proper form of motivation that will help you accomplish even the hardest of tasks! And if you want to read more about fitness motivation or motivation in general you can check out THEBODYBUILDINGBLOG motivation category filled with various motivation articles, pictures and quotes that will make this whole experience a little bit more enjoyable.
Stay motivated !
