I had a bit of a detour on the way to the 2nd episode of Local Farey Tales Season 2 which meant a delay. I had taken time off between seasons to work ahead but I failed to recognize that my unique podcast format is subject to scheduling delays no matter how far you work ahead. Lessons were learned. Time slipped away. Episode 3 became Episode 2 and here we are! Working to get it back to at least a monthly schedule. TBC... But in the meantime, listen to the Local Farey Tale of Coffee Milk anywhere you stream podcasts or here.

In the final stretch of completing my Yellowbrick, Film & TV Industry Essentials Course! The latest assignment had me creating a short film from a previously written script & shot list.
I admittedly had to punt a bit when some production elements didn't go as planned but as always, things were learned and the assignment was completed! :)
And in case you need confirmation...yes, I am The Garbauge Collector! You can follow me on IG: @thegarbaugecollector

Continuing to work through the Yellowbrick Film & TV Essentials Course. This video is the result of a recent assignment: Create an animatic for a music video. While this was a storyboard exercise, I decided to actually create the stop motion rather than draw it and well...it became more of a rough draft video than animatic (oops) but things were still learned!
Have a lot of ground to cover before the deadline in early March...be looking for continued progress reports!

Thrilled to have the latest episode of "Local Farey Tales" out in the world! "The Local Farey Tale of the Pasty" marks the final episode of Season 1. New episodes will arrive in 2022! Up until this current episode I was able to keep up with a monthly schedule that included, research, scheduling/conducting interviews, editing and posting on social channels accordingly. But that schedule is getting harder to maintain so I'll take a break to stockpile some episodes for the new season. Definitely not done sharing these Local Farey Tales yet!

A new month, means a new episode of Local Farey Tales! Episode 6 features "The Local Farey Tale of Loco Moco".
Although it didn't work out to interview some of the restaurants, I did get supplemental information from them so be sure to take a look at that info via the link after you listen to the episode. :)
I continue to be grateful for all the Tale-Tellers who share their love of a particular regional food on my podcast. And I hope it inspires others to seek out their own "Local Farey Tales" and/or broaden knowledge and inspire "Local Fare" travel!
Not sure if this podcast would be of interest? You can now check out an audio trailer here.

Episode 4 of Local Farey Tales Podcast, "The Local Farey Tale of Dorothy Lynch Home Style Dressing" is now available to listen to anywhere you stream podcasts!
The podcast was inspired by the realization that some of the food I grew up with in Nebraska was not readily available everywhere else. And I'm happy to share the tale of one of those "local fare" items with you in this episode.

The audio play I wrote, "Hanoi Rocks", for the Sweet 16 round of Cone Man Running Productions' "War of the Words" is now streaming anywhere you listen to podcasts and here.
This time around, the theme was "A Day Late, A Dollar Short" and the sound cue was fabric ripping. I discovered, Hanoi Rocks has a song that matches the theme so of course I had to incorporate it! :)
This round is a one on one competition and you can VOTE here through Sunday, June 27th! Then...will see if I make it to the top 8!
Update: Sadly, I wasn't voted into the next round but it was fun while it lasted! Be sure to keep listening to the War of the Words podcast to see which remaining writers win!

Updates!
Update 1: This past Saturday, I happily lent my voice to a (Zoom) reading of a scripted podcast episode. It was fun to flex my actor muscles again and help out a creative endeavor in progress! I look forward to hearing what's next for the project.
Update 2: The play I wrote for "War of the Words" has advanced in the bracket! So now it's part of the "Sweet 16". Another round of plays will be voted in this week and then further bracket match-ups will happen in the weeks to come. Will post updates here accordingly. :)
Big shout out to the director, Christine Weems, and cast (Brian Kondrach, Chad Benjamin Potter and John Raley) for bringing "Fine Print" to life! Fun fact: Unbeknownst to me, Chad (who I wrote the character "Candy" for) actually had a job irl as a clown NAMED CANDY!!! He even wore the costume during the recording of the play as you can see below. LOVE the serendipity of it all!

I spent part of this past weekend writing (and editing) a 5-minute audio play for Cone Man Running Productions' "War of the Words". We were given a theme ("Kid in a Candy Store") and sound effect (toaster spring) to incorporate into the play. The results will be heard in a couple weeks! Stay tuned...
