I just write how I take notes! No special way of going about it. Just got to figure it out on your own with practice, best of luck!

would you ever mind writing out all your letters and things separately? i'm trying to find good handwriting to embody to improve my own, and i went through your blog but there's no post like that. if you have time/wouldn't mind, that would be so cool!!!

Hey! I’m glad you like the stuff I post. I mostly do a messy scrawl so it would be weird (at least for me) to write the letters separately, but I’ll get to it when I can. Remind me post April 23rd, I’m unfortunately swamped until then, and I’ll see what I can do!

Honestly I hate physics but also I can diagnose like a bunch of eye diseases without even seeing patients now so...I guess I’ll just do an ophthalmology rotation or something to make use of this knowledge.

Really enjoying working with the surgeon right now. He’s huge on mentoring and I’m finally at the point where I’m not constantly stressing about this job. It’s nice. Plus he’s fond of his old man jokes.

EMT Notes (from way back when, like...July 2016). 

I haven’t posted in forever, mostly because I’ve been working solidly since I’ve been back in the bay. I’m currently scribing for a surgeon and loving it--he basically treats me like an intern, and lets me watch, ask questions, and prep like one.

Hey all! I know I've been MIA for a few months--unfortunately juggling moving, thesis work, and three jobs has not been the most conducive towards studying. I'll be studying and taking more notes for a new job now, so expect semi-regular updates again! I'm working pretty closely with doctors now so there will be a lot of abbreviations and such commonly used in the medical field (SOB, COPD, CHF, MI, STEMI, EOMI, A/Ox4, to name a few) so if it gets to be too much I'll try to tag them "medical notes" specifically so you can blacklist them if they get bothersome. And I'll try to dig up some old stuff as well. I'll also be studying for the MCAT again soon, since my old scores will expire by the time I apply. For those who are interested in those specifically, look forward to more general science!

EMT Classes, Day 3 (6.12.16).

The last time I had this little schedule in my life, I went into a major depressive spiral. This time, not so much. It’s been wondrous exploring what I want to learn and get better at before I apply for med school, as well as taking time for my mental health. Teaching bright-eyed, bushy-tailed people how to be EMTs doesn’t hurt either.

Epidemiology Midterm Review (4.11.16)

This quarter is mostly thesis work, so I’m not hand-writing many notes. I think I’ve gotten really lucky--both my advisor and my reader are great guys, great profs, and generally really nice and easy-going and available. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories from the other people in my program, and I’ve gotten super lucky. Shoutout to Dr. Pekosz and Dr. Norris, dem my peeps (really though I hope they never read this).

Vector Biology, Midterm Review, (2.16.16).

Finals are this week, luckily I don’t have too much on my plate...metaphorically at least. In a more literal sense, I’ve developed an unfortunate addiction to blueberry oatmeal pancakes. And I’m getting tubby from not working out as much as I used to. In my defense, the pancakes are REAAALLLYYY good. Also turned in the first draft of my thesis!

Vector Biology, Midterm Review (2.16.16)

The unexpected but highly welcome snow day today meant that I didn’t have to skip classes to review for this. Though, to be fair, it’s definitely not on the difficult side--the lecturer is very clear (though he is my advisor, so some bias may be present) and the material isn’t too difficult when presented well.

As usual though, there is a shitton of information to memorize. Wooo grad school.
