i love how hannibal goes through a mid-life crisis after leaving will whereas will went through his when meeting hannibal. will also had a depressing “oh god why me” midlife crisis and hannibal bought a bitchin’ motorcycle.

i don’t think Max is boring, but i do think it’s very similar to Lucy in a way that would become boring if they were together long term. idk if that makes sense, but i feel as though if they stay together they’ll basically become the same character and since Lucy’s character is a lot more like the player she’ll be focused on more. which would then make him very boring. i think it’d be cute if they dated but realized they wanted different things and separated. you’re definitely right about a lot of people ignoring Max, i thought he was the funniest part of the show and i don’t see a lot of stuff about him on here. i think the vaultghoul thing was always gonna be popular tho, tumblr <3 enemies to lovers. tbh i hope she’s not permanently with either of them, i think it’d be great to see her date someone that makes sense as both her as a person and narratively because i don’t either Max or Cooper do that. her and Max would cause the plot to get worse but i don’t think she could be happy long term with many of the traits Cooper has to maintain survival. but maybe the next season will make me look like a fool, idk

i don’t have a problem with people shipping whoever they like but there’s something that feels racist about how so much of the fandom is choosing to ignore Lucy’s black love interest who has been nothing but kind to her and saves her when she’s in trouble with the ghoul and when she’s succumbing to radiation poisoning, sacrificed himself to the brotherhood basically so Lucy could take the head to get her dad back etc, in favor of a white guy who used her as bait in an irradiated river with a man eating monster, cut off her finger because she bit his off while trying to escape from him, tortured her through dehydration, and sold her to an organ harvester. like i’m white so i’m not the one to define what is and isn’t racist, and i do not want to speak for or over black people, it’s just the fact that i see mountains of fanart and stuff of Lucy romantically paired with Cooper and literally like, maybe 2 fan media of Lucy and Max whenever i look up stuff related to the new show? i don’t think it’s a coincidence.

It’s not because he’s black, it’s because he’s boring, at least in the context of a relationship with Lucy. She’d be continuing her community’s goal of furthering of the human race with two non-mutants. Instead of getting a relationship that progresses Lucy’s development as a character as well as Cooper Howard’s, it would be the same motives the characters have at the start.

Max is a member of the brotherhood, a human, and shares very similar ideas with Lucy. They are both people who are the wrong side but have good intentions, as the story progresses Lucy realizes those ideas are harmful and leaves with Cooper instead of returning to the vault and Max returning to the brotherhood. Lucy needs to embrace violence to defend herself, this is something The Ghoul has already done but, he needs to learn to do it less. Him and Lucy both need to meet in the middle which is interesting as a story but Max and Lucy are already in the same spot. Lucy has been taught her whole life that she needs to reproduce to further humanity, which she will inevitably do if she couples with Max. However if she dates a ghoul, she won’t further the goals the vault had in mind when she was arranged to be married. Also he’s a cannibal and appears to be covered in tumors, two things lucy worried about her husband being in the vault. It ties in with the idea that what she’s been taught to fear is actually good and what she’s been taught to want is bad. Lucy dating Cooper makes the story have more depth. Lucy dating Max is more like “well yeah ig”

rewatching community and there’s no way these two didn’t date or at least fuck. the only person who truly sees through jeff’s bs is duncan. britta sort of gets it, but duncan is able to have jeff’s car for awhile, until jeff notices that the folder has no test answers. this sort of thing is only done again in the show when people know jeff super well. also more importantly it is revealed later that jeff’s phone has the names he puts in when he meets someone, and he doesn’t know who’s who. every time duncan calls him or texts him, jeff doesn’t know who it is because it’s a hook up name.

loving how many casual disabilities are shown in the fallout series. i feel like so many shows are afraid of injuring their characters too bad, because they don’t want to have a main character be disabled for some reason. also like how the diverse the cast is while not making it something that you notice. it’s not like, huh how are these people related like with pair of kings or shameless, but also it doesn’t look like the casting director was aiming for a one race only thing if that makes sense.
