it's funny for me to think of v1 as being a particularly aggressive and territorial dog SPECIFICALLY to other machines. it's standard mode is just aggression and killing towards anything moving but it prioritizes killing other machines and is wayyy more brutal. it doesn't matter what else it's fighting if a machine walks into the room v1 is gunning to rip any limbs it has off

i got pokemon sun around when it first came out. i was like 10 i think. and idk at one point i got stuck and just sort of put the game away for awhile. sort of complicated series of events (or just the normal passage of time) later and idk i ended up losing it. lost it for years. i’ve always thought about it and eventually i gave up that i’d ever find it. some things are meant to be lost. i ended up buying myself a new copy of pokemon sun out of nostalgia to try and play through it again.

recently (tonight, actually) my dad was cleaning out his room when he found my OG copy of pkmn sun! it was even in my pokemon y case lol. i was real ecstatic. i thought that it was kind of a waste at this point. i now have 2 copies of the same exact pkmn game but that’s besides the point.

i decided to boot the older game on my 3ds just to see where i left off 8~ or so years ago.

it was so confusing to me. i had no clue where i was. i vaguely remembered some things but it was all unfamiliar to me. my little character was a kind of mirror to how i viewed myself as a kid. the save file is even under my birth name.

i have no clue what i was doing back then. i guess that i was grinding up or something but i just don’t know. i felt guilty about moving her. it felt like i was messing with someone else’s game, even though the kid that played that game isn’t even technically around anymore. they grew up into me. it still felt like i was vandalizing something. that feeling only worsened when i saved to exit the game. it felt like i was tarnishing it somehow. a perfect little time capsule, just ruined.

it made me feel kind of empty.

idk. it just really made me realize how long it’s been. i’m so much more older now, and that feels so weird to say.

i just finished watching a dead plate play through and i’m stuck thinking about ending 2. mostly about how when vince says he’ll give rody 15 seconds rody says something along the lines of “really? you’ll do that for me?”

it’s just so interesting to me. rody has like…a total fawn response. i think in some of the other endings rody asks vince if they can just talk about it. i guess being a people pleaser is just something apart of him. it’s apparently the reason manon broke up with him, since she couldn’t watch him be self destructive while trying to please her.

i think a relatively underrated trope (fanfiction or otherwise) is when character a and character b’s favorite colors just OH-SO-HAPPEN to be the eye color of the other person…i lose my mind every single time

i KNOW i’m probably not the first person to make this connection BUT idc i just thought of it.

SO there’s going to be 7 chapters for deltarune, right? and there have been secret bosses for BOTH, with spamton having the yellow soul gimmick. there’s SEVEN souls in undertale. each chapter is probably going to have a mini boss with a different soul gimmick. jevil didn’t have one because his was just the red soul.

the human souls all died in a certain order (from memory im pretty sure it’s cyan, orange, blue, purple, green, yellow, and then red is last because that’s us/frisk) and deltarune seems to be going BACKWARDS. the third chapter will probably have the secret boss use the green soul gimmick, which was undynes shield and arrow thing. which is very interesting actually…with toriel having called the police at the end of the second chapter, undyne DOES have a likelihood of showing up in the dark world…unless napstablook shows up instead (a very funny twist lol).

ANYWAY. that’s all i got. i just had this click in my head.

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.

By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.

I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?
